In my opinion, 7.2 will once again offer NOTHING that actually gives us something to do.
Everything is being postponed until 7.2x, and that pisses me off. After many years, I've reached the point where I'm just angry at how they're starving FF14 players while simultaneously draining their money.
Remember when they said they will "SPARE NO EXPENSES" into FF14?
What a flat out lie lmfao.
The studio does nothing but lie in their live letters and interviews.
They always throw out some lie like "improved encounter design" to hook players with copium.
The new Arcadion gear looks really cool! People looking for classic fantasy gear will be complaining again xD
So far, the raid tier is mainly around the combat and it is too early to tell whether they live up to the 'improved encounter design'. This is something we will need to see for ourselves.
They have also just gone over PvP and Borderlands Secure. How the map is going to play out in practice is yet to be seen, however, the addition of role actions is intriguing, especially with comet, being a cast time which cannot be interrupted. A real risk Vs reward. Yoshi did hover over the action and I did briefly see 20,000 as a number, which can safely be assumed to be the damage.
Ironically, just after yo posted this they revealed the tomestone gear, much more fantasy inspired.
The tome gear looks to be FFIX-inspired, to varying degrees, though WHM gets very classic WHM robes and I don't recall any of the characters having those. Sadly it seems to have been used as the base for casters as well and just recoloured to kinda-sorta Vivi instead of actually giving us a Vivi outfit.

Anyone notice that the astral fire timer is gone and the cast time of fire 4 is now shorter than its recast
That’s a massive difficulty nerf for BLM
They have been using the classic WHM red-and-white colour scheme as generic healer colour scheme all along, though I'm trying to think if there's anything quite so blatantly WHM-styled.
Meanwhile, everyone else seems to be stealing what should be perfect RDM gear. First the Rinascita DPS design, then healers in Yuweyawata, now the ranged tome gear is taunting us.

7.0 ruined BLM anyway, but still, don't ruin it further.
They've always had them WHM-coded for lack of a better term, but they never used the red triangle strips outside of AF gear from memory. This is as blatant as it's been.
And as a RDM, yeah it hurts seeing everyone get better feathered caps than us.

Is it confirmed to be the tomestone gear? We are getting a new dungeon, I believe, so I thought it would be from there
The Discord translation channel says it's the tomestone gear and seems to indicate that Yoshida referred to it as tomestone gear, so probably yes, although I do agree that having it come from the dungeon would make sense. I guess it's all Alexandria one way or another though.
The usual pattern for patch cycle dungeon gear would suggest we'll be getting recycled dungeon gear since it's an even-numbered patch and they have new designs being added elsewhere.
I waited all this time for Cosmic Exploration only to be glorified levequests? Great. AND you're making me wait another month for it, and then another month for the field exploration zone? There is legitimately zero reason for me to come back to the game until June at this point. What an absolute joke. Five crappy MSQ quests and a raid tier I will only complete once, is not worth an iota of my time right now. It is sad my love for this game just continues to get replaced with more frustration and hate. It is really getting to the point where it's time for me to make my exit permanent. Like actually delete my character of over a decade and have no reason to be tempted to return.

- The new Loporrit character in the Cosmic Exploration screenshots seems to have been coloured based on the Namingway minion.
- There's a picture from the dungeon of players fighting the boss, wearing what is presumably the dungeon gear -- it seems to be a recolour of the Lost Allagan sets (available from the Stormblood Centurio vendor) -- and unfamiliar weapons that I'm going to guess are new crafted gear. The equivalent picture for 7.1 has them using Archeo Kingdom crafted weapons.
- I'm not sure where Gerolt is supposed to be, but it's giving me Bozja vibes more than anything. Have we seen that emblem in the top-right background before? It feels familiar but I can't say where from.

So, they have added to cosmic exploration one of the things people have wanted in Eureka for ages. Level syncing.
I think Yoshi's skirt just glitched out while fighting the Goobbue, a bug I wanted to report for years but could never properly recreate... It has something to do with battle animations, happens all the time on BLM, basically never on WHM...
Player shocked to learn that the crafting and gathering zone consists of crafting and gathering.
The mossy stone walls in the background seem to match the ones from Crescent Isle so he's most likely somewhere there, especially since the weapon quests are tied to the zone.
Felt very underwhelming. They have shown nothing of interest that will come in 7.2 proper. Occult crescent is in 7.25 and Cosmic Exploration in 7.21.
I already had nothing to do for the past 6 months, and it seems I will also have nothing to do for at least another month... Very disappointed.
I think they completely turned FF around with this.
They just went all in on Cosmic Exploration and Occult Sanctuary, the raids dont even look like much for glam or mounts, it really feels as if side content became main content.
The biggest issue, AS PER USUAL, is the freaking Schedule.
7.2 Release -> 03/25
Arcadium Release -> One Week Later
Cosmic Exploration -> 04/22
Occult Crescent -> 05/27
ONE WEEK of ONLY MSQ as content. Something people clear in a couple of hours.
And then 20 DAYS with only Arcadium as content, again, content you clear in a couple of hours per week and give weekly lockout.
And then you get Cosmic Exploration, a casual content for Gather/Crafters, something that makes you be engaged for more than a couple hours per day. Just a little bit.
After 30 DAYS after that, you get the combat content for players to grind and spend their time at.
This habit of splitting their content and giving it in small spoonfuls is upsetting because it renders the player unable to genuinely play the game because the content they give lasts a couple hours at best.
Some things need to be released together to keep engagement, stop with this awful spread of schedule, no one like those mini-patches and it cripples the whole sensation of joy and wonder a patch has, because all you make for them to enjoy is ONE OPTION, until they can finally get their whole plate of food MONTHS LATER RELEASE.
So.. if I am reading/seeing things right.. we aren't getting any good content til May?
I was really looking forward to a Bozja-like situation because I enjoyed Bozja and it actually gave me something to do.
I am hanging on by a thread here.
MSQ takes 2 days max then raids are whatever for a once a week thing.. so where is the content?
I can craft, and guess I'll do it, but sitting down and hitting 2-3 macros to watch your character make the same things over and over really isn't sustainable content.
Why was the biggest selling point of 7.2 -- the field operation -- pushed so far out??
