Is ALOT of running around.. and some have a bunch of 70+ mobs! >.< :P
really easy though. if one path is blocked try another. walk past drakes behind them. simple.
It's not hard. Just learn how to be patient and what mobs are sound/sight/true sound.
Looks like those diety rings may come from the guardian we picked in character creation.
Just did Rhalgr's stone and got the ring and three anima.
And done with all 12 stones, Got 20 Achievement Points and can obtain Dalamud Horn from completing this quest.
I'm assuming that means it's like the "final quest" since you get an achievement for it
Got Aezyma's Ring... thats my guardian i picked at the start of the game.
Assume its 1 ring only from your guardian choice.
The only thing I do not understand is what the developers were thinking with the reward ring. "Lets have them be 50 and run through a bunch of deadly crap, then we will give them a really crappy level 1 ring"?
inventory -1 = sad panda
Its about the journey through the cereal box, not the crappy toy at the bottom.
The quest itself really isn't that bad save for the second stone. That one sucked.
This so reminds me of the Survivor the TV show.
it wasnt hard TODAY. But i think it might be a little challenging for those who try to complete this quest in the following days. Because they will most likely be soloing it. I was able to solo it but it was semi-hard to easy today cause we all just followed a bunch of people, most of the time you wait for someone else to get aggro and rush past. Best of luck for those who have to do it later...
Its a lot of waiting around for the PLD 15 min ability to come back up.
It wasn't hard, just a little time consuming. Getting an anima back after praying was nice, though.
I only died once because I wasn't paying attention to the drakes in eastern thanalan. Went around the other way where the flies were instead.
I loved the cutscene you get in Coerthas, where Gaius Van Baelsar says "And leave me something worth conquering!"
You son of a bitch...you can bet your ass I'll give you the fight of your life...come A Realm Reborn... :D
In my opinion, It was easy as any Job. I was soloing it, since when I started most I know were done or already in the Stone area.
As a DRG, you have a x2 Chance of Mitigating Damage [Decoy+Dread Spikes] (1min+ Timer).
As a PLD, you have High HP & Defense and Invincibility Skill. (15min Timer), etc
I'm thinking everyone who does this would switch to DoW/M and won't go as DoH/L :p
Skills & Abilities are more like precautions when there are no other ways / you get caught.
Riding Chocobos will out-run most enemies without them being able to dish out any type of attacks; Morbol, Drakes, etc.
Knowing Mobs' Aggro type and figuring out the safest path is very helpful.
Knowing when to walk when an enemy is "Sound" Aggro,
Run behind when "Sight" Aggro or Figure out his "Aggro Sight" angle
Avoid them entirely or bust right in using Skills when enemy is "True Sound/Sight"
Knowing their "Range of Attack"
Figuring out their "Distance" of Aggro also helps !
EDIT: Just thought I'd mention, If you want, you can go through the trouble and start a leve and abandon where you can get it. Leve resets all Ability timers.
Only if people go the dumb way.

Go this way and you only go past a L53 Boar and a L60ish Diremite, and you can easily go around or get off and walk past it.
How do you actually obtain the horn?
I got the achievement too but dunno who to talk to for it.
Any info on where you get this mission?
*edit*
Never mind found it. This is the "Living on a prayer" quest not a mission.
Please try not to confuse people with vagueness in the title of the post.
I think only 1 spot that has 70ish mobs u need to dodge, the rest r easy.
Plus, if u've done gate hunting before or have maxed PLD, this would be a breeze.
Tho there's amusing thing happened during that dodging, turns out doing solo "might" be easier than having ppl around. I've been in numerous times preparing to dodge when 1 or 2 ppl just dragging the mobs towards me and got the impact too. :p
Hallowed Ground is a winner for the areas with a higher mob-density. Since that's only 15min though, Stoneskin/Sentinel will help you survive a hit...or two, depending on the level. Or just wait for someone else to run through and aggro everything. Either way, it's certainly easier to do in a small group, as someone will more than likely need a raise at some point.
So many people last night made the Lynxfelt Patch part way harder than it needed to be. Kept dragging all the Morbols into a tiny hallway. I even went out of my way to sacrifice myself to pull them into an out of the way area so others could get through. What thanks is there for this? People just drag them right back without thinking.
the deaths were the fun part of it though rofl. Seriously it wasn't that bad except I did it with a group of people and we decided to side track to some of the aetheryte crystals and got killed (I'll take the blame since I said hey why don't we stop by there") but it was fun
I'm surprised that with all those people, that they didn't just attack and kill all the monsters along the way. With all those people it would of been cake to wipe out all those mobs, even at their level. I guess it was fun just to run around like lost monkeys. We'll it was fun for me.
We found that route just by looking around, me and my friend never explored these areas before this quest. Should have been fairly obvious that the shorter way was wrong as it has 60+ true sound, sight, and sound enemies all mixed together in extremely narrow hallways. The other zones that make you go through high level enemies usually only have 1 type of aggro and are really wide open.
The only annoying one was Lynxpelt. The rest were easy as can be.
Wait this is a quest? How do you start it?
