Why make trials so integral to the completion of the MSQ

It took two attempts and over an hour of queueing to get The Mount Ordeals done. Now I am on The Voidcast Dais and have been waiting an hour in this sitting. All side quests are done and I am sitting at lvl 96. So basically sitting watching a screen all this time.

So why make this character progression so beholding to a trial system that is not even feasible to complete. I have another trial after this one just to get to the latest expansion.

I wonder if it is time or day or what server you are on? Generally speaking, Trial Roulette should help fill that queue up in far less time.

The reason is because they want you to fight a big bad boss with a party of players. Although they find it genuinely challenging to make Duty Support NPCs work for trials, they are also torn on whether to do it because they want there to be bosses so powerful that NPCs can't cut it and provide the experience of taking it down with players. This is what I've read across numerous interviews at least.

Back when I was going through the MSQ for the first time 10 years ago, every single dungeon and trial was a 40 minute queue and this was on a tank. There was no NPC support either.

The best advice I can give for this is:

• Queue at evening hours for your region, when more people are playing.
• Ask for help in your Free Company or Novice Network chat. They can queue with you to increase the speed at which it pops.
• Start recruiting in Party Finder to find more people to help.
• Unsync it. Any that are below level 91 can be unsynced using the Unrestricted setting. This means you won't need a full party. Although the higher level it is, the more people it would be ideal to have, to help with damage and survival.
• Once you begin Dawntrail, the first two trials have NPC support. Only the last one doesn't.

One hour is unlucky at this time of the day on a Saturday in EU. Have you enabled all languages in Duty Finder? You could also set up a Party Finder and shout for help in Limsa.

Where is the option to unsync it?

I had not enabled all languages, thanks for the tip.
I got this one done. One more left to go. And yeah trials never took this long the last time played.

Can't say if you can solo it at your level. Honestly though, since you are in EU, try the evening hours, the game is more active then. It is an MMORPG, so some semblance of group play is expected, I'd say. Good luck!

Soloing is going to be messy with the 6.5 trial if OP continues to run into this problem anyway because the 6.5 trial has a white hole mechanic. Which means at best likely only PLD will have a chance at it, especially since it doesn’t stop auto’ing during white hole

Glad you got it done! :D

In the future though, definitely start a PF, mark it as Duty Completion, and mention the first-time bonus! I look specifically for that stuff in PF when I’m trying to get second chance points for my Wondrous Tales to shuffle my stickers.

here are three reasons why your queue time is so long:

#1 You only turned your main language on in the Dungeonfinder.
#2 You play at a time when very few people are online (3-7am?)
#3 You play a job role that is overabundant, try registering as a healer or tank when DPS queue is too long.

I honestly think they should reduce the players to 4 in story trials. There are just so many of them and all of them require 8 people and the queues never fill. They just need to be cleared once and nobody learns the mechanics properly. Plus there are so many that nobody remembers the mechanics anyway. The trial roulette is just not worth it anymore so people simply avoid it. The fights take too long, are too difficult (for the reward) and if you wipe you are stuck in there forever.

Trials need a rework!

I love challenging trials with full parties. Please do not make the whole game braindead, thank you.

Once we get full npc run singleplayer mode, when we donate enough of our time and money to SE, which is coming soon. But please remember to donate more if you can, it is literally the most important thing to keep MMO's alive in general, not just FFXIV.
We must put our money where our heart is, and it is fully with Yoshi P and his proud and perfect staff team and CBU3 STUDIO.

But when we get full singleplayer option with npc's, we dont have to care about ques, though I doubt SE even would let ques happen, but fix them soon as humanly possible. Please understand, it is a hard job and they need more money to motivate them. So I think we need to come up with a clever and innovative way to give them more money for more projects and eventually to put back into our beloved MMO, to make their company grow to perpetually massive, so we can overshadow competition and make the rules. Our community will grow stronger and better and smile happily

They don't have to make them easier per se, reducing the player count to 4 will probably make them easier, but mostly it will reduce queue times. They also could give them some relevancy instead. There is no point in adding challenging content when nobody cares to do the content more than once. These story trials are more a roadblock than actual content right now.

And in any case there will still be the ex trials for people who want the challenge.

You mean how like every other Final Fantasy game does it?

Dude I love you even if your shtick is obnoxious to some people. They don't realize they find it obnoxious because that's literally how they sound lmfao. It's like you're just putting a mirror and they saw their own ugly reflections and get mad.

Trails are great! If the queue is really a problem then they should offer more rewards for players to queue for trials.

I personally love trial roulette and still go back and do old trials often.

Although I will say the endwalker trials are not my favorite. They just aren't that fun, especially to randomly queue into. I think the got the difficulty wrong on those ones, if I'm being honest.

I would really love to see a mix group of NPCs and real players. I did all the dungeon content on NPC mode just to beat the queueing system. I much prefer having real people around just for the social aspect.
Anyways I got the final one done also and made into the expansion area Dawntrail.

I'm not trying to be snarky but... it's an MMO. Just go around and ask for help.

A yearish ago, my brother in law got to Endsinger at like 1am EST. Needless to say, queues weren't great, but I anticipated this, and I prepared a little message somewhere along the lines of... "Hey! My friend is about to complete EW MSQ and we need people for Endsinger. If you'd like to help, just queue up and help us fill the queue!" Then I went to the three ARR major cities, Kugane, Eulmore, Crystarium, Thanvair and Sharlayan, and pasted the message in Shout. A single time in each city.

Our queue filled up within the minute. No PF, no premades, just a couple of shouts asking for help.

Is TRUE! Mao got lots trials done this way. Mao asked for helps and lots nice peoples came to help Mao. Is plenty nice peoples in game (is one of the few things Mao will miss now that Mao left FFXIV).

What a lot of people said on this forum is how it goes 99% of the time if you put first bonus in PF it will fill up qucik. Ofcourse time of day does factor in, but usually the PF should fill up quickly, or even asking in cities for help or shouting. Most of the time you will get nice people who won't get angry at you for watching a cutscene and such for a first time. Hell i even put on cutscene for endsinger and Mother crystal to enjoy
