Man the day Yoshi starts to talk about the new Job Design, half the Players will Rage. I have the feeling that more Jobs will end like Summoners. Braindead with less fun to play.

Sorry but, when did YoshiP talked about new job design?
He said : Job identity, no job design.
For me it's mean : VFX and SFX, nothing more.
I personally don't think the jobs need to be redesigned, except for perhaps some more streamlining to ensure our hotbars don't become too heavy but I do agree that people are really hoping for too much here and are bound to be disappointed.
People are talking about it like they are going to completely overhaul every single job but nothing I've heard from the devs has really pointed to the changes being that drastic, but maybe I missed something.
Are people missing obvious sarcasm here?
At this point tbh I agree, lots of copium to be inhaled.
8.0 Predictions
1) Changes nobody asked for
2) Changes that JP asked for
3) Feedback from regions outside JP, discarded and ignored.
4) One job overperforming
5) Ranged physical still can't catch a break even with changes
6) Melees are slightly behind, like monk, but don't worry, they will get gigabuffed
7) If there is a new ranged physical it's either weak or it's pictomancer levels of strong
Mao predictings jobs becoming more samey as long as Devs keep doubling down on DDR-style boss fights.
Honestly I've seen more effort put into a CPR class than what's been pumped out at the patch updates, no offense.
If anything needs to be saved, it's everything from the Jobs to the writing. 2025 is off to a pretty destructive start.
They can't even refund us when the game is under maintenance!

As i recall, they talked about Job Identity not JoB Change... And, also expect some old Jobs getting the DRG/BLM/MNK treatment.
Meaning : New animations, new VFX, new SFX and some long overdue QoL...
This is what happens when for years the playerbase is like Xeno and worships the ground Yoshi walks on and defends every bad decision the dev team makes.
Defend slop and one day you'll look around and there's nothing but slop.
On the other hand pvp having more job identity tells you a clear enough tale. Slippidy slop pve job design. They are too lazy to innovate cause it would take time away from ff9 remake and tactics

8.0 really will be a make-or-break part for this game (I'm sure this was said about Dawntrail too but we're at a all time low now)
For the average non-raider 7.3 is basically the end of the game, novelty of cosmic exploration and occult crescent has worn off already, deep dungeons are niche, we already know SE's strength is in raids so a raid or ultimate being good is expected at this point.

8.0 should be coming early 2027 if you go by past release timelines between patches / it doesnt get delayed, its only mid 2025 now and there's nothing DT currently has or can have to keep most entertained for another year and a half so it's going to need to pull back a LOT of unsubscribed people and if its another Dawntrail experience that will change to leaving the game sooner and never coming back.
The community is way overhyping the idea of 8.0 job re-designs. I want it as much as anyone (it would make me re-sub) but it was basically an off-hand comment "stop asking me about this, we're doing fight design first". And you can see how mild the fight design changes were - a couple more quick random AOEs to dodge, and fewer debuff vomit bodycheck mechanics in savage. Good changes but nothing revolutionary.

Meh, as much as I want to see an -actual- 'new' job design, I think it's just a disaster control-statement.

the new job design will probably be taking away what make the job unique so they are more copy and paste
