This mini patch was a complete disaster.
The PvP queues were a mess due to them now forcing ranked PvPers to a specific data center. Light's duty servers failed and required maintenance.
Incredible, we'll likely see this patched in 3 months given how long it takes SE to do anything in this game.
Bungie has more QA than this and they fired their QA team.
Everything relating to Dawntrail story quests has been extremely embarrassing and disappointing. They can do better than this. Since the start of 7.0 I was really hoping they'd be able to turn things around. However, it's only been getting worse.
What's going on that's causing such low quality content?
People will still manage to somehow defend this so it's okay.
Awful.
Inb4 people come in saying the exploration zone will turn the expansion around
Here is something else that has been pointed out from a friend.
Reminds me of e12s where they labeled the aoe wrong.Quote:
An issue in Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic) wherein the actions "Lateral-core Phaser" and "Core-lateral Phaser" were oppositely labeled.
Really? Why do you think so? Everything they have put out in 7.x so far has been lackluster if not an outright failure. Why would "exploration" (exploration in this game is a joke, lets be real) be any different? Have you been getting different content than everyone else to give you that idea that they'd some how get their stuff together?
The quality of battle content in Dawntrail so far has ranged from ok to pretty good. The exploration zone is just battle content that lasts longer. I don't expect much in terms of story but I think the gameplay experience will probably be decent and add some much needed substance to the game.
I am concerned that it will be a case of "too little, too late" for a lot of players, and that a lot won't return until 8.0 if at all, though.
Looks like something 'got lost in translation'. Hyur hyur hyur.
But this is the first time I've seen text flat-out not even translated to English. Wonder what the English team is doing; cubicle-crawling? What in the world is going on with the teams, or even over at HQ?
This is what I'm really curious about. By the time it finally releases a good chunk of people will have simply moved on. Speaking anecdotally, several friends and discords I'm in have already expressed losing interest even in the content they were once excited about because of that. There comes a point where even good content will suffer because people just stopped caring after it took over a year of nothing.
Are they drunk in the office or do they have interns do this stuff?
I'm sorry, not a native speaker, dont know how to backtrack the quest progression in 7.1 to confirm it - seems there's one word missing.
Lets not forget they also had to do an emergency maintenance, because people were dc'ing out of the instanced scenario.
Too little, too late indeed. We're basically going to see this content when 2025 is wrapping up LOL.
That said (and sorry random rant), my problem with it is... Exploratory whilst I see value to the game, is their 1-hit-wonder, most of their other content just falls flat, and beyond a certain point, that 1-hit-wonder will be used so much and so repetitively that what was once excitement is just going to be apathy. Same issue that Deep Dungeons had to a degree.. At a certain point it's the same piece of content today, what it was 5 years ago with a fresh set of paint.
This is my biggest fear with the next exploratory zone, to where I don't know if I should be excited for it, or if I should be dreading it.
Speaking of the exploratory zone, did they ever explicitly state that the first zone is in 7.25? Bozja technically started in 5.25 with a solo duty and EX trial, but the Southern Front didn't actually come out until 5.35.
Honestly are they even trying at this point? Did Square Enix fire their QA team? Completely pathetic that they can't even get a mini-patch done right anymore.
I'm sure they did somewhere in Endwalker actually, quality control took a nose dive. For me the deal breaker was the ungodly amount of repeating textures in Labyrinthos and a whole cave with literally nothing but repeating textures. I saw some islands in ultima thule flickering in the background...
In DT I just see texture stretching, things not lining up that would be obvious had ONE person did a quick walk through the area. I wouldn't be surprised if alot of AI might be integrated into their work.
They're just too overworked with making viera and hroth hats guys, give them some slack come on, we need to be understanding, it's been 6 years now they're working hard on it.
You guys better stay and keep playing this slop so I can milk more money out of the playerbase while I'm playing better games like Metaphor
"In compensation we are givin- releasing a new emote and a new modern casual outfit at $29.99 exclusively on the cash shop!"
If we are being real here for a second, it is most likely going to get through the same cycle as Eureka and Bozja beforehand.
I.E: its only going to be considered "good" after the expansion had already ended, and throughout its timespan it wouldn't have a good rep.
Let's not forget that at Wut Lmao's coronation, in a voiced cutscene mind, she says that she learned something from the giants of kazumauka. The giants live in urqopacha, and while the stupidity is in character for her, I seriously doubt that it was intentional.
But besides my previous comment, this patch was nothing short of a disaster when it came out.
From ranked PvP being on Dynamis, but ingame you get this wonderful msg:
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...6871f67bd0e62&
The Light DC straight up being unable to queue up to anything, to untranslated text in a capstone, and other things like graphical issues.
What is going on over at Square Enix for this level of slop to just come out unchecked? mini patch or not this is absolutely unacceptable.
Do we really have to tank the amount of players currently playing just so they would come out and say: "hey, so, by the way: we gonna have to fix a lot of shit"
7.1 pretty much wasn't really that good of a patch (save for the addition of unreal, that is the most fun thing they added imo), and this coming out really just stinks.
Perhaps its time to just drop the 5 patches per expansion cycle altogether; because it's pretty much a detriment to the game at this point.
If we are just going to wait a long time for "something" and said thing is probably not gonna be that great, then frankly, what gives?
You guys gotta understand, they’re really busy with other projects no one cares about. DLCs, remakes, whatever—anything but the main game! Don’t forget, SE’s a pro at wasting money on projects that flop anyway.
This is not the quality we expect from being gracious enough to pay the same sub money for a longer dev cycle.
And it's going take them tell next week to fix it.
