Increase Allotment

Is there any chance you can increase allotment of Levequests. As it stands, we can only refresh 42 leves a week. To get all the achievements, it'll take 7 years at that rate. And that's only if you're paying attention to when you refresh is ready. If you are not paying attention and you max the 100 without using them, you've now wasted time and it takes even longer.

Can we make it a weekly refresh of 100 leves? It still prevents one from spamming it, but at least we can get the Achievements in 3 years instead of 7. And it adds another thing we can do weekly instead of sporadically.

Would kinda be a spit in the face for those that did do the 7 year grind...

How is that a reason not to do it?

"My dad trudged 10 miles back and forth through the snow, uphill both ways, to get to school. It would be a spit in the face to him if we bused kids to school."

"I had to sit through Prae, the Ultima Trial, and Lahabrea all in one dungeon run. It would be a spit in the face to all of us old timers if you split it up into three different duties."

"I had to stand at the house placard and spam it for 24 straight hours, competing against 50 other people, in order to hope to win the bid on the house. It would be a spit in the face of people like me if you instituted a housing lottery that takes mere seconds to enter, in order to hope to win the bid on the house."

Just cause someone did it the "hard" way is no excuse not to lift arbitrary restrictions. "I had to suffer, so everyone else should have to suffer too" is an extremely poor reason not to make quality of life improvements. Unless suffering is the point for the limitations. If they want to make things miserably, tediously long, then by all means keep it the old way.

However, as far as I can tell, the purpose of the Achievement is to recognize that a person did 5000 fieldcraft (or whatever) levequests. Not that they took 2+ years to earn it. Allowing a person to complete it in one year instead of 2+ years takes nothing away from the Achievement of having done 5000 levequests, a monumental task in and of itself.

Think about all the players that gear up multiple jobs in the last patch cycle of an expansion - spending capped tomestones, doing raids/hunts to augment that gear... and then when the next expansion drops, all of that gear (augmented) is available via uncapped tomestones (poetics) that you get from all sorts of content.

We already do stuff like that (thumbing our nose at the old-timers).

I'm not saying if that's a reason to increase leve allotment. Maybe they'd have to drop the gil rewards though. It is possible that it would open the floodgates to further inflation of the currency. Personally, I don't think it would be game breaking. Maybe a bot farm could leverage it, but chances are they likely have faster ways of earning gil than doing leves.

I think the leve limit is a forgotten throwback to 1.0 where leves were one of the common ways to level up. The same was true in 2.0. While you could spam crafts to level up a DoH class, the bump from leves was significant. Allowing for a huge allotment of leves could allow a player to level their crafters very quickly just be doing lower level leves where ingredients might be more readily available. This might have been part of their thought process when they limited leve allotment. Considering cross-class actions were key for crafters in 2.0, it put a high value on doing the highest level leve you had, since leveling other classes was very important.

But with the dawn of no cross-class actions and a plethora of ways to level your crafters at very low cost (in exchange for time), having a limit on leves is a bit silly. They could probably greatly increase the daily allotment and cap. They could lower the gil rewards by half or even 90% if they are that concerned about inflation.

I highly doubt that would be a factor in the devs' decision-making. Was it a spit in the face of everyone who got the aether currents "the right way" when they reduced the older expansions' count from 10 to 4 per zone?

One of the best methods for raw gil aside from Submarines is levequests, and increasing the ammount of leves you get would make it so, so much easier for the bots and RMT sellers to quickly stockpile gil

OP is right.

All mountains should be eroded over time, to give a bad metaphor.

This is why unsynched duties were originally implemented and why iLvl caps inevitably get removed.

If you want the full challenge, then CHOOSE to use fewer leve allowances.

No one is double checking your work because NOBODY CARES

As someone who turns in culinary leves every week, I'd be thrilled if they toned down that gil (again).
Maybe have the HQ bonus only apply to Exp.
Doubly-so if it means all those achievements become do-able, and without the feeling of tossing away 10k a pop.

(I don't enjoy the RSI from the click-spam turn-ins, but it's too much gil to ignore.)

If gil is an issue, how about they just make leves doable anytime you want, but you only get gil/items if you had allowances while accepting them? Means people who want the achievements can just grind away at it but won't get any other kind of reward. Of course, this wouldn't make the 20M gil achievement any easier, but at least it'd solve the majority of them.

I agree with the previous poster. I've been doing CUL leves because 10,000 gil per HQ turnin is a lot of money. However, that 'repetitive stress injury' menuing is killer at least for the boredom. But each leve is like finishing a milestone in the weekly challenge log! I have to do it!

Maybe the solution is for the entire leve system to just go away. It was designed in 1.0 as a way for the game to have repeatable quests. But we have so many more types of repeatable quests now. Leves have cool lore with their weird stained glass cards and light-up countertops. But the devs clearly feel forced to make them and they make as few as possible each expansion.

If it's about EXP then GC turnins and the relatively new Cosmic Exploration have leves beat. The moon will level any DoH from 10-100 almost as fast as FSH levels during Ocean Fishing. If it's about achievements then just add "leves or Stellar Missions" to all of them. The moon is already exactly what the OP asked for - endlessly repeatable leves with "no reward".
