I thought Viper was strong, but maybe I am wrong?!

I think most adjustments are based on forum feedback, so I think it is good and fast. So thumbs up SE.

Do I think it is less a of a slaughterhouse now, suitable for Ranked? No, not really. Would need big changes for that I guess. I often feel like I die by damage that is not even targeted at me specifically, like being snapshot by Ast or Whm aoe at max range. Not sure if people need more HP or better healing or better mitigation.

Japanese posted on their forum something like Protect not getting applied to the WHM itself, if the dash is around an obstacle. Seems like that has been not addressed yet.
Or the abilities that stop their combo or effects, because they go into the void corpse of an enemy player (because they dodge it?), might be still be an issue?

Viper looks strong on paper but it's really not lol

F them RDM finally felt nice in PVP and i immediately get nerved AGAIN. They didnt care for MONTHS when Pala was ruining Onsai but that, nono, gotta patch immediately....

Viper really needed help in FL. AST would still be strong if they only had a one-way dash, but this helps a bit. Still think the big issue is hit detection/animation lock.

So RDM has gone from top 2 to top 6?

IDK about ranking, but i noticed CC felt a lot better, less like throwing wet sponges... it was the same when they initially changed pvp and introduced CC, RDM felt sweet and my LB actually killed stuff... until they nerved it.

Picto meta is gaining traction. I've already seen 3(!) other PCTs today. :eek::eek::eek: We are slowly rising (emphasis on slow).

(But in all seriousness, those picto changes are great to see.)

Viper doesn't do damage. You only see Viper dealing damage in continuous fights where the Viper is ignored, because in general, the damage is always low.

Other DPS deal as much damage with less effort, so it was a necessary nudge. Even if it doesn't feel super impactful.

AST did not got the necessary nerf, I will argue it is still absurd strong. Just less evident.

RDM seems like it got "crippled", tho. So, we will see. RDM damage was super high.

The rest seems good small changes. At least Warriors can stop crying their class is unplayable, we hope?

WAR mains don't cry. They pout while idly spinning an axe. But yeah this buff means we're no longer obviously the weakest tank.

I always thought DRK as a solo job was pretty meh. Think it's utility will depend on whether the pros figure DRK+AST+?? is worth it or whether the premades are gonna go quad-AST or trip-AST+guard-breaker.

I tell you, they're plotting something.

DRK is the tank with best kill potential alongside GNB. They have very good survivability as it is, but honestly? He isn't meant to be used as tank.

You are meant to secure kills and stall, not genuine soak damage. Without a pocket healer, you don't survive long unless you score kills and heals of Sole Survivor, imo.

That's the one place it doesn't need help. Just be wary of SAMs (easier said than done but possible), MNKs... .. .. RPR LBs, DNC LBs, and you're fiiiiine. No really I'm not being sarcastic for once, its kit is a meme that works in mass PvP. Really quite well if you have the luxury of babysitters and/or not treated like a bounty target too much.

As for the OP, well it's already been said. You've likely only seen high damage from perpetually ignored vipers for the most part. The patch notes sure made me groan, and I have a couple quick tests to do while in-game but for the most part... yeah... it's not the most ideal change. Making -50% damage taken not drop during Blacklash would've been a great start tbh.

K, I don't play VPR, they just weren't on my radar as a threat.
