Many of Ninja's most powerful abilities do not receive restorative effects when used in conjunction with Bloodbath. Creative Studio III, please change Bloodbath to activate with magical abilities and Ninjutsu. This has been an oversight for years, but has become more visible now that Viper is in the game. Ninja should have the same PVE self-recovery benefits as Viper, Monk, Samurai, and Dragoon. Reaper would also benefit from this change with Communio, Gluttony, and Harvest Moon.

Viper has no other Defensive Utility, Ninja has atleast Shapeshift which is huge. So if everything works for Ninja too with Bloodbath then i expect go get a defensive Tool as Viper.

Nope bloodbath should work for Ninja too.. Idk if vpr has no utility.. role skill should be working for Ninja as it is working for Viper

I agree. I doubt magic attacks from RPR and NIN not benefiting from Bloodbath restoration was some sort of "intended balance". It's just a past remnant of it used to being a cross class action from Marauder and they never bothered to adjust it to both types of damage to this day.

Bloodbath should work with all damage.

I have nothing against Viper getting another defensive cooldown, but that is not the purpose of this thread. I do not think that Shapeshift is so powerful that Bloodbath should stay as it is.

I was always under the impression that Bloodbath works on ACTUAL physical hitting attacks, like with your weapon—and not actually 'casting' abilities. Bloodbath + Phase Shift is pretty life-saving as ninja. The restorative effect should be more pumped, but that's about it.

Also the fact that Bloodbath itself is already homogenized, every melee DPS has it, it's just flat out worse on one of them.

Bunshin can boost the effectiveness of Bloodbath when paired. Funny thing is that they repurposed Meisui to be a self/targeted heal in PVP so there is an avenue of defensive Ninjutsus to explore.

This is correct.

Role actions are there to standardize a given role, so their entire point is to provide a homogeneous benefit to all jobs in that role. The distinction between physical and magical attacks is purely an aesthetic choice anyways, especially given that most jobs don't use MP.

Shadeshift also already has the longest defensive cooldown for all the melee DPS, tied with Riddle of Earth on monk, but without the party-wide heal that monk has attached to its defensive.

Ninja has possibly the worst self mitigation as a result.

It's honestly kind of dumb when you see Reaper with only 30 second cooldown on its defensive and samurai with 15 seconds, but ninja has to wait 2 minutes for its defensive to come off cooldown. They could cut that in half and it still wouldn't be balanced to the others.

While true, times you need to use bloodbath don't nessecarily align with 90 second cooldown on bunshin.

Now that 7.1 is out, I would like to bring attention to the plight of Bloodbath once more.

The recent changes to Ninja are very nice and I am thrilled to see the changes made to Ten Chi Jin. Unfortunately Bloodbath still does not work on half of Ninja's abilities, a fact woefully made all-the-more-apparent by my recent forays with the Monk Job.

We still need Bloodbath to work with Ninjutsu and other magical abilities, CS3. Please make it so.

Please improve Bloodbath, Creative Studio III. :)

Can only agree here, considering they even went back and made the PvP version of Bloodbath interact with all damage types when it was physical-only prior.

With NIN having a significant portion of its damage be MAGIC damage (unaspected/elemental), this puts an unncessarily huge hinder to survivability that most melees do not have (minus a few actions from Reaper... please fix).

Please make Bloodbath heal on any damage type.

I mean at this point "damage type" should mostly be removed as-is, for all classes, and re-implementated as something that genuinely adds flavor (it kinda does on DRK, but that's it), instead of being a weird vestigial leftover from days long gone.

Just make bloodbath work on all damage, there's no reason it shouldn't. Making bloodbath work fully on ninja isn't going to make ninja broken or something.

Thank you for raising the potency of Goka Mekkyaku, though I am sad to see that the developers still have not addressed Bloodbath's inadequacies.

Again facts. Its vestigal clunk that was flavorful when stuff like dark arts and elemental and base stat materia existed but now it just doesnt fit in the simplified modernized state of the game. people crying about viper defensives need to remember feint and the fact they're the best bloodbath user in the game. the speed and ogcds give lots of heals, especially when doing aoe damage.
