Change ilvl restriction to affect each equippable gear slot

Simple logic, with tomestone gear you can boost your average item level to specific amount then equip low ilvl weapon/other slots to barely pass needed mark. Is this a trolling? Is this poor number 23486956th bot leveling up job for someone and using w/e they have in inventory?

Who knows, but if a person does not want to interact with any way to get item at least of expansion where raid/dungeon was released in (free tomestone, marketboard, craft yourself), I do not wish to interact with or know about this person.

And also no, from what i know this won't affect PF in any capacity as average ilvl restriction only affects you if you queue savage via df, so you can enter your m3s with 708 ilvl to prog via pf

The majority of the players will usually have a weapon that is lower in ilvl than other pieces of gear because higher ilvl weapons, especially at end game, are harder to get. SE is very much aware of that as they're the ones that have created the system. They take that into account when setting the average ilvl needed to queue for a piece of content.

Knowing about the specific situation you encountered and how the player's lower ilvl weapon prevented your party from completing the duty would be helpful.

Yeah, just make it so its not the minimum per slot, like:

You need at least 500 to enter, but no piece below 480 is allowed. Just because you cant be bothered to at least grab some free dungeon/jobgear im not gonna carry your butt...

A person with 485 ilvl weapon should not queue duty with 565 "average" (which should be per slot). Am i a gear snob if you don't want even get artifact weapon (560)? You can't take tp to city and walk to npc?

They added average item level to alliance raid to combat ilvl trolls with constant arr raids, this is not enough for me considering people troll with shb gear in aglaia (and will troll in next alliance raid)

Or, alternatively they need to spread our def stats on the accessory as well and not cap those at +1. thats the main problem when ppl just go for the lazy, cheap parts..

I don't see the neccessity, especially in alliance raids it literally does not matter. But I wouldn't be against it as long as it's reasonable. Say, if the min iLvl is 600, you can't enter with gear under 560 or something like that. I can guarantee you that the vast majority of people with gear like this aren't trolling. They're new, leveling alt jobs, etc. Not everyone has the time to farm a bunch of dungeons to make sure they're geared up, or to spam roulettes/hunts/maps for tomes. Unless they're in content where it matters, it really isn't a problem.

If it doesn't matter, why put avg ilvl on instance then? Why is this ok to not take 1-2 steps to find at least artifact gear vendor for expansion? "They are new" - I even saw mentors rolling with bad gear .....

The most fair gear is looking at what is easily obtainable at a certain point. At level 100 this means 690 for the body slots (lvl 99, free and always unlocked through the msq), and 660 for jewelry (lvl 90 poetics). As all of this is easily obtainable, you can therefor easily go for 685 average and 660 minimum at a certain point. For savage this might be 700 min for all 1-4, while the average goes up. Again, for those who want to go savage 700 is a realistic minimum they can achieve (market).

Thats why 2 measurements arent a bad idea. However, i would say that party finder should NEVER be allowed to demand a minimum though, that will just create conflicts (it makes no sense to deny someone with a 710 average that has 1 700 and 1 720 piece vs someone that has all 710. if the duty demands 700 as minimum, that is already a minimal treshold anyway).

Minimum item levels are only a good system to demand players to upgrade beyond a certain point. Otherwise you might run with lvl 80 gear in a dawntrail dungeon, which makes no sense to allow.

You know, in MANY cases you see such players going out of their way and PASS on better dungeon drops cause they simply dont care at all, some would even have better gear as they at least got some drops from leveldungeons... and lets not even start about the gear coffers, feels like 80% of those ends up on the MB anyways...

Yeah even currently it just sucks when doing ex trials and there are like 15 parties not filling as one wants 698, one 700, one 705, one 709 and so on...

I think what you are looking for is a weighted average iLvl. Since weapons have way more of an impact on a character's stats than a ring, a weapon should have more influence in what is considered to be the minimum of gear you need to have to join a duty. This system would achieve what you want, without being needlessly restrictive, e.g. if certain gear slots just don't want to drop for you.

Again, what was the exact situation that caused you to make this post? You're throwing out numbers but you're not saying where you encountered those numbers and how it impacted your party's ability to complete content.

Or are you just dealing in hypotheticals?

As for artifact weapons, a lot of players just don't care about them. They're not going to go out of their way to acquire one just to make you happy. Expecting another player to have one would indeed make you a gear snob.

I'm not trolling here. I'm trying to get information to understand why you have decided to bring this subject up. Is your concern valid based on a bad experience? Are you misunderstanding something in the situation?

If you won't provide that information, then there's no reason to take the discussion farther.

Probably a tank whos average IL was high enough to queue into a duty but effective IL taking syncing into account was laughably low.

I definitely wouldn't be against the idea of changing the minimum ilvl in PF to affect every gear slot if it meant only the multiples of 5 that gear comes in And are currently available in all slots can be selected.

Now you don't have to deal with there being 20 different PFs with IL requirements all off by 1 from each other, and PF isn't full of obnoxious venue ads either.
