Whm needs more party wide mit

I know this will sound like a skill issue post but pfing these fights as whm has been really harsh since the only time you can ever save your party from a raidwide/mechanic that hits hard as whm is every 2 minutes with temperance especially since divine caress is gated behind it so its barely flexible (you can hold divine caress for 30 seconds but its honestly not enough when deathly raid wides happen as often as they do).

Either make divine caress a different button entirely to at the very least have SOMETHING or give us something similar to ast's collective unconscious if we're gonna go through so many deathly raidwides/mechanics.

And before anyone says its just lazyness tax for playing an easy job, you might be right but whm is inferior to ast in too many ways already it should just have something nice to not have to depend so much on extremely coordinated parties/shield healers gcd shielding.

Given that SE has started reworking several jobs to include long removed skills and reintroduce them into the modern era of the game, would it really kill them to reintroduce Protect as a Lily Ability at this point? It expands the lily system, while addressing WHM's poor mitigation toolkit so that it isn't always shafted in that department. Speaking of reintroducing old removed skills, return Divine Seal as a low level Temperance and make it a 1min CD again, Temperance didn't need to be a 2min CD to start with since it was just an upgraded Divine Seal in the 1st place.

That would at least fix their lack of mitigation because it's sad that DPS jobs have more frequent mitigation than WHM does.

OGCD Stoneskin II, I summon you.

Like no for real, no point for limiting WHM's mitigation to just Temperance + follow-up action when AST is out there flexing Neutral Sect and Collective, both individually strong cooldowns for their purpose. Especially in a world when even the supposed shield healers are also gigaflexing on WHM with ridiculous amounts of AOE regen or even burst healing (hi Pneuma).

Just cut the cool down of Temperance in half down to 60 seconds. Let WHM pop out the wings more often.

Upgraded?

Divine Seal - 30% heal buff, 60 seconds CD

turned into:

Largese - 20% heal buff, 90 seconds CD

turned into:

Temperance - 20% heal buff + 10% mitigation, 120 seconds CD

For Divine Caress if they think that’s too OP for 60s cool-down couldnt they make Temperance 60 but keep Divine Caress 120? Though, it’d be weird popping Temperance at 60s, Caress appears, but it’s still on cd lol

Maybe Plenary Indulgence can also give a mit?

WHM 100% needs more mitigation but if they did it that way then their mitigation profile would be exactly the same as AST which is boring

A one minute mitigation with some form of heal attached and a 2 minute mitigation that also allows for AOE shields

Like the shield healers share their bubbles but otherwise their mitigation profiles aren’t very similar considering expedience and holos function near nothing alike, SCH has illumination and seraph and panhaima are pretty noticeably different

I feel like WHM should get stoneskin 2 back as a lily spender with a rather long CD (like say 90 seconds) and like divine caress if it cracks you get a regen. That would at least make it distinct from CU

I'm all for class individuality and identity but healers are by far the most homogenised role with almost no difference between them, so it's not like giving WHM another tool that is just AST but with a different vfx would really change anything lol

I still maintain the idea that Temperance should've been Afflatus Purgation but consumes 2 blue lilies at 90s cooldown. Stolen directly from my own WHM rework doc:

Afflatus Purgation (Instant | Cooldown: 90s | 2 Blue Lily | 40y) - ➖5y
Deal unaspected damage with a potency of 420 to main target & 60% less to other enemies within a straight line before you & grants ‘Temperance’ to self and ‘Regen’ to all nearby party members.
Temperance: Reduces damage taken by self and party members within a radius of 50 yalms by 15%.
Regen: 40p
Duration: 21s
Does not need a target to execute.

That’s why I’m offering an alternative that still “fixes” the problem but is less just a complete copy of AST

WHM needs party mit, but straight copying AST’s mit profile when they can at least pretend to offer some measure of difference and leaning into the lily system is better in my eyes

Nah that would be unfair they'd increase all healers gcd aoe heals by 10 potency.

Visual Upgrade lol. Everyone already knows that WHM is the red headed stepchild of healers to SE, so any "upgrade" on WHM should be taken with a grain of salt, and Temperance is just one of many grains we've had to shallow over the years.

Divine Caress could be the answer.

It shouldn't be tied to Temperence because you only have 30s to cast it.
The shield is only 10s, which mean you can push it ~40s away from Temperence.

You still have 50s without party mitigation that can occur every 30s/60s.

Either Divine Caress should be triggered by something else, or just be a new flat oGCD on a 60s recast (nerf the potency to 300 shield and 100 regen if needeed to balance it).

Or they could indeed bring back Stoneskin II as an oGCD (10% party member max hp)

Exactly. AST can do this with collective unconsciousness. This IMO is WHMs greatest disadvantage compared to other healers.

Honestly asylum is trash and that's obviously meant to be a form of mitigation. Probably just get that removed and replace it with stoneskin or something else that can be a mitigation option, placeable bubble on the ground always felt a bit weird on WHM imo having that replaced with something else would be better.
