Edit: Am now halfway through M4S after 6 hours with my midcore static that's only aiming for a week 2 clear. Where is the difficulty lol?

Hi Titanman, going for the low effort bait again?

Honestly, the game could make your PC breathe fire on your balls while you prog, people would still speedrun new content within the day. Pretty sure it happens in most modern games like this.
I'm more concerned about people clearing high level content without healers...
So, did you clear under 9 hours, or you're just concerntrolling? oh wait its a titanwoman thread, nvm
Just to put it in perspective for me, what's the normal cleartime for a savage on day 1?
Thanks
Well they didn't say it would be harder, just "more exciting" and faster-paced and have more original mechanics again.
First tier is usually easier because from their perspective, an expansion gets lots of new players who need to adjust to new rotations and battle changes. Over the course of the expansion they become content to make it gradually harder. This is just what I've seen them say repeatedly over the years.
Its the first Tier, so ofc its cleared fast + theres is not really a Puzzlemechanic or anything which takes time, the Tier is incredible fun and finally the hitboxes are smaller and there are plenty moments where you actually have to fight for your uptime.
20-30 hrshttp://10char.png
So this is a hot take but I generally find that Savage is the difficulty level where the devs play it the most safe, and we're in expansion 3 of the almost every job playing the exact same, I'm not surpirsed by how fast it got cleared.
were people even getting close to enrages? they did do the buff jobs toreaperpicto-ish levels thing again and i doubt they playtested for that kinda scuffed dps.
The fact that the raids were already completed after 9 hours is fast, I find it rather impressive.
Besides, that doesn't mean that you or I will clear it that quickly with other groups.
As long as the difficulty is appropriate for Savage and we all have fun with it, I'm fine with it.
Just because the highly skilled and hardcore players who probably had a lot of time practicing and coordinating can do it in less than a day. Doesn't mean the that the average player can do too.
I'll complain about savage difficulty if my own clear times end up being considerably faster then usual.
Other people's clear times have no impact on my personal experience.
I'm taking my time, but I've been seeing friends already at M4S and it hasn't even been more than a day.
I feel like we go through this conversation every tier. Some experienced raiders go out of their way to bruteforce the new content, basically pissjugging for 14 hours straight and clear it in a small amount of time because they're trying for worldfirst, and then people on the forums who haven't even stepped inside yet complain that this means it's too easy.
With the slight spike in difficulty in normal content that caused such an uproar, I expected the first tier to be tuned slightly above Asphodelos, Eden's gate or Deltascape
I'm genuinely surprised
Because someone mentioned it
Here are some clear times for comparisons.
Abyssos (P8S) Was cleared in a single day.
Asphedelos (P4S) was cleared in 14 hours
Eden's Promise Eternity was cleared in a single day.
Eden's Verse was cleared in a single day.
Eden's Gate was cleared in 14 hours
Alphascape(12.0S) was cleared after a single day.
Sigmascape (8.0S) was 17 hours.
DeltaScape (4.0S) was 16 hours with a noteable 13 minute tier 1 clear.
Noteworthy mention - Epic Alexander was only 3 days. DSR was 6 days. TOP was 7 days (3rd party tool clear - so not officially recognized), UWU was 5 days.

Also note that 6.4 QoL change of Cooldowns resetting on a wipe would reduce downtime between pulls.
I don't get how people complain about difficulty, I responded to a post about expert roulette dungeons saying they are easy as shit and that new crafter gear will help even more with making them unbearably easy. People laughed at me but even without crafted gear its a 13 minute run max lmao, the first savage tiers are all easy everytime but goddamn they didnt even try to make this one be any harder
Yeah let's make a nuanced and constructive conclusion on a whole game difficulty based on the 0.001% top-player speedrunners.
Yeah! I mean, it's prolly gonna take me a few weeks to get my clears, I'm fine with it.
On the other hand, people who are speed running / world first are probably optimized the hell out on how to get there, this game and the world race have become so popular. I wonder if Square will ramp it up on the second tier?
Yeah they usually do.
A few factors went into this being cleared so quickly:
1) Not a lot of hard 8 man body checks, I think m4s probably had the most
2) Less "gotcha" puzzle mechanics, most of them were straightforward solves
3) Viability of double caster. If you saw world race, a majority of them ran rdm/smn or picto/rdm to help zombie their way through pulls. This helps tie in with no 8 man body checks because you could just raise people over and over again.
4) and their biggest offender, undertuning HP values. PCT being absolutely busted forced them to buff other jobs before savage release and everyone just does way too much damage(except for phys range lmaooo)
5) Players(especially world racers) are just straight up better. DSR, abyssos and TOP made people play better.
SE should be faulted for undertuning HP values, even asphedelos 4th floor had dps checks(you could argue some jobs were just bad) but now it just feels like they didn't bother checking max output of everyone's damage and scaled it way down.
I'm still on the "wait and see" fence but I give them points for engaging floors, speed of mechanics and honestly, they're just fun, even if I'm progging at an alarming pace. And I'd take points away for HP undertuning and bad job balancing... and making me hurt my queen not once but twice.
Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person who doesn't care about these clear races. Do they have any impact on the game at all? Does clearing this savage tier in 9 hours actually mean anything?
Mainclass fisher....kinda sus
First-tier raids have been cleared the same day since Stormblood. Omega still holds the record for having its 1st fight cleared in under *15 minutes*.
Average players, hell, *good* players will still struggle to clear these fights, and they'll have access to guides.
Fact 1. The Devs promised harder content.
Fact 2. The same skill level of player that cleared the previous content cleared this content in half or even a third of the time it took to clear previous raid tiers.
Conclusion: The game did not, in fact, get harder. And with equal skill level, got easier.
These are not stretches of logic, these are not assumptions. These are actual facts. It's not like these players suddenly got double or triple the skill level they already had.
Don't you have rmt to do? Or are you just here while your bots farm up mats? I saw a couple of yours this weekend. Clearly bitting away. What a sad existence.
How about we hear the opinions of those that actually cleared the content yesterday?
