What bugs me the most about FF14 is the only thing is to do at Endgame is Que for dungeons/raids... We need events like this in the game. 1.0 players know what I'm talking about

Isn't there a FATE in Sagolii Desert where monsters try to invade that little southern town (forgot the name)? I like it, and it's easily doable with the FATE system.
Yes we need it. As ive said many times, things like Eureka should be normal zones as well. theres so much you could do... have fates fail and Ice elementals turn the area into snow, bandids, rouge Garlean soldiers or just machines...
To be fair we can still go out and attack both imperials and beastmen, so it is something they could do for zones to breathe some new life into them. Honestly I'm pretty sad I missed it, this looks like it would be a lot of fun and almost reminds me of GW2's WvW which I absolutely love.
If only every issue wasn't resolved immediately, we could have had this with robot armies attacking randomly, like what happened in Tuliyollal.
I've been loving the combat content in DT, but they really need to add something other than just 3-boss dungeons/4-floor raids. The Eureka equivalent should have been out on launch, for example. It's not even been a month and I've already done pretty much all content aside from crafters and farming the fate mount.
Yes! That's what I really want. Make Euerka into normal zones.. current zones are so boring and dull
1.0's Hamlet Defense was literally replaced with other game systems in ARR (the trading in items to increase Hamlet supplies was added to Grand Companies, and later, city restoration content like Doma and Ishgard; and the 'enemies attacking a village' situation became many different FATEs, such as at Highgate, Poor Maid's Mess and Hyrstmill).
Plus we had a similar thing to Hamlet Defense in general in the original incarnation of the Diadem and... well... look how that turned out (i.e. first gutted of the Doth/DotL aspect, then dumbed down to just be a NM fest). So I do not see it ever coming back to how it was in 1.0 alas.
Urghh... it sucked (there was a reason Whitegate became known as 'Laggate'). And the amount of times I couldn't hire a chocobo to get to an EXP party because the stupid chocobo handler in Aht Urhgan had gone and gotten himself kidnapped by mamol'jaa or whatever during the previous attack... Thank Altana those days are long gone.
Those days were the best! I loved besieged in FF 11. It was something different and new. I never got bored of it.
I support the return of Hamlet.
Behest in different zones would be a really cool addition too. I worry they might be a fad if the rewards aren't more than just EXP, but I would still love them to be re-added for the experience.
Hamlet Defense and Behests are two of the experiences from 1.0 era I miss the most.
I loved the Hamlet defense was a lot of fun I have lot of nice memories from 1.0. I also loved besieged in FFXI.
On a different note I loved campaign in FFXI it was so much fun and players had a purpose of working together, something now this games lacks I feel.
I also wish we had the point tallying up each week and make it so the GC actually mean something. It was a lot of fun seeing who the winners where each week and added a little bit of friendly competition. It was great who controlled areas and you had perks. I dislike how pvp chooses what nation you go with now.
I really wish the devs would listen to some of the feedback and add these things and Hamlet would be right up there for me :)
Besieged was a mess, especially if you had a Lv. 8 Beastmen raid. And the consequences of failure were you lost the Candy, which screwed over the entire server. Getting it back required several groups to sacrifice themselves to weaken the boss enough for the last group to take them out. Thematically, that seems pretty badass and heroic. In practice, it was an uncoordinated disaster 99% of the time.
Campaign, on the other hand, was much better. The enemies didn't overwhelmingly outmatch the players, and the battles were much more frequent. You basically got all the good parts of Besieged, but in a more refined package.
Exactly.I don't think the dev care on what we want... they just gonna keep copying and pasting the same old content in each expansion
