We time travel back and delete the 7.0 msq. It becomes an alternative timeline.
This tragedy, greater even than the Seventh Umbral Calamity must be undone. If history must be unwritten... let it be unwritten.
Cid can put n aether flux capacitor in our ark mount. Once we hit 88 yalms per hour we can undo this sausage festival.
I'm usually against Time Traveling being used as a plot device, but... G'Raha was right, this tragedy must be undone.
Either that or make it all a dream and the real story starts next patch.
Yeah and its revealed in Post-DT patches that Wuk Lamat is the real villain behind all this - she used her Primal tempering powers making everyone love and worship her
In 7.3 we get a trial to kill Wuk Lamat and reverse everything!
It's revealed all of dawntrail was a nightmare that Emet selch gave us as one last gaff
I don't know what I expected when I clicked on this thread, but it made me laugh. Here, take my like.
There must always be a Wuk Lamat ....

Okay, then let us also time travel to never meet the freaking twins. Or make them someone else who doesn't selfinsert themselves into being our bestest goodest friend (Alisae). Make Lyse not be Lyse but Yda. Either delete Zenos from the whole of the story or make it so he actually changes his mind when Alisae talks to him in Garlemald and absolutely DELETE him self inserting to be the end of Endwalker.
Maybe it's all a dream/nightmare the WoL had after the Zeno fight and being on deaths door.
After getting hit by the book on her head, Y'shtola falls unconscious and everything after that was just her dream. The end.
Well, after we arrived in Garlemald back in EW, I was watching a fan fiction play out in front of my eyes.
Still curious when we will continue with the MSQ, it has almost been 3 years...
Nah, that leaves too many problems open for how they'd re-start from that point. Mainly because it leaves our character at the edge of the universe without an obvious way back home. If we want to be passed out and this all being a bad dream, we have a much more convenient branching point in the recent time line:
Zero's curry.
People were canonically passing out left and right from that, and food induced bad dreams are totally a thing, so why not say that is what happened to us?
The reality is we never got brought back after the fight with Zenos at the edge of the universe. We both died there. Void 6.x arc was Purgatory before we took the boat to Hell that is Dawntrail. Now G'raha has to rewrite time again.
I'd like to be memory wiped by men in black, and then write dont pre order dawntrail on my calendar reminder, so I didn't have to sit through the awful MSQ, which now have destroyed my excitement for the future MSQs, it completely shat all over whats been built over the years till now, I no longer care about the MSQ.
Why not we did time travel in Endwalker to go to Elpis. There should be no problems doing it again.
He does though. Now, Zenos doesn't pull a sudden 180 and become a good boy who values life and peace and justice etc. But those words from Alisae do influence him. It's why, instead of going down his path of trying to **** off the WOL and stoke their fury to fight him...he helps us. He makes a deal with Krile, he comes to our aid. And then, AFTER he helps us save the universe, politely ASKS us to fight him, saying that he won't force the issue if we decline.
He didn't help us. He just couldn't find us to ask us to please spank him.
prime day is coming the regulator (amazon echo dot), can wipe your mind.
We redo Stormblood as well and fix Zenos' writting overall. I'm on board
Honestly as bland as some of this expansion was, I didn't find anything as ridiculous as the deus ex memory wiping device from EW or emo bird girl becoming the eleventh hour villain because she realized that everything dies, what a revelation.
7.0 is just a tale from Wandering Minstrel when wol was bored and visited him during content draught near the end of Endwalker. We will see it in msq soon. Prayge.
Yeah, but it's okay for super dumb anime stuff to happen when you're having fun with it. Suspend your disbelief.
The problem is that the story fundamentally is not fun. You could not pay me money to watch this, even if I'm stuck on an airplane with no other stimulation.
I'm going back to Elpis then, I'll definitely make sure 7.0 never happens
Nah. We already used Time Travel twice in the game, and if we make time travel easy, we basically open the box of "Why not just go back to Elpis and undo existence."
The rules of time travel established in this game is closed-loop hard-predestination paradox. Predestination "We gave Venat the idea to become Hydalynn in the first place, in turn Hydalynn gave us the power to surpass mortal limits when we come into existence (a la 1.0) and (wake up on that ship to La Noscea/Enter Ul'dah/Wander aimlessly through the twelveswood)"
The only wiggle room we have for time travel is re-introducing story beats from 1.0 via the echo migrane. If the developers want a straight up free-content idea, literately send WoL back to the 1.0 opening cutscene (We've seen the ship cutscene used twice, so we KNOW they can do this) and so what we did with Venat with Thancred, Y'shtola and Yda&Papalymo. Go back and BTTF ourselves by "steering" our 1.0 selves up to the battle of battle of carteneau. They can side-step the changes in the overworld by revisiting only the parts that involve plot beats, and using the echo to go back and forth (Eg having to go to the location in the present, use the echo migrane time travel and then replay the 1.0 story beat.)
Now, how much of 1.0 do I think we really need to see? Well all the holes in the story that keep being referenced, but non-legacy players have no idea what is being referred to.
edit: The level 60 Alchemist plotline is a reference back to the 1.0 Ul'dah starting path.
We stop her voyage. woke lamat doesn't make it to eorzea she is shipwrecked sealed in a coffin on the bottom of the ocean like DIO.
Bonus is solution 9 won't be on the source with its dumb prawn npc denizens.

Future timeline with Graha, that we died in Still Exists
The thing is, the reflections are "alternative" timelines already. The CT exists in the source and the first, in the exact same place on the map. We basically (or retroconn'd) the 1.0 opening cutscene and characters as having "always" been the first. The rest of the cutscene was basically a flash-sideways to the source.
Reconciling this is still possible to do. But it does establish that all the reflections MUST be identical geography.
Dawntrail is fine. It's the same story muck as always. At least it has good dungeons and trial mechanics so far.
