[DEV] So... whats up with plate belts?

In no way shape or form is this an important game breaking issue but I just gotta ask.

How come are the none-dated plate belts in game are in just 1 color?

Dated belts came in as many colors as their sets came in.

So what happened?


It just feels wrong to be wearing a blue set of cobalt armor with a grey belt.

That really annoys me too.

ooooo i argee my HP build is in red cobolt buy plate belt is in default.

SE seems to be afraid of color. I guess that's why everything looks sort of "whitewashed". XI was just horrible with it. I hope in the future they give up on blending the game into a beige/grey soup, and throw some color in. hmm that may be why i love primal fights oO so much color, it feels alive for a little bit.

also, let us dye AF gear pls :)

They're not afraid of color, they take a less "Hi, I'm a Unicorn and I'm going to puke rainbows all over your world" like a lot of other MMOs tend to go toward. XI was "whitewashed" in world design structurally because it was based around 'Cermet" material the Zilarts largely used.

That doesn't change the fact that it makes no sense why the cobalt plate belt can't be dyed. It's made of the same materials as the armor you CAN dye.

It does make sense since they already explained that on the current engine due to the way it handles the material and data some things will and will not be able to be dyed.

That's why they originally went with different color = different stat that people bitched about.

Not to mention they've already said that in 2.0 they're looking at using a different means of differentiating dyed items which would allow them to ideally put upwards of 28 colors in the game for just about everything, if I'm not mistaken that is.

I'll pretty much be more than satisfied with "it's coming in 2.0" response if a rep sees this.


Also give us a white one to match the militia set.

And how do you explain the fact that dated gear had different colors, but the new one doesn't.

I see a lot of colors on the plate belts. I guess it must be a lore thing.

All the gear in this game is kind of screwed up because it's almost like the more powerful you get, the more f**ked up you have to look.

Gear sets in this game are really nice, but not when mixed with other gear sets. Dated gear seemed more harmonious, but the AF gear and dungeon drops kind of screwed that all to hell. It would be better if you could dye some drops or something, because I mean... if you want best stats you better be prepared to look like a fashion victim.

This was right before 2.0 was announced so it wasn't directly mentioned though since he mentioned wanting to do it in the future it's implied to be for 2.0. It was a really long post so I only took the important part.

I'm against them allowing us to dye our AF.

The AF to me is a uniform. to throw in some Lore. it doesn't make a lot of sense to me that a PLD, a knight of a holy order and has taken vows to protect the innocent, runs around in dark black armor. or bright red. or Canary yellow.

PLDs should have white armor. if you want some color you can meld and make your own. but your 'official uniform' should have a set color scheme.

I'd prefer to have vanity slots.

Just use a boarskin belt. Nearly the same stats (not that they are any good on plate belts) and it looks better with the armor set IMO. Not the best solution but maybe you'd like it.

we don't' know for a fact that's even AF (Wizard's). it could be...initiate garb...or something. i'd argue that the NPC is clearly not wearing Wizard's from the shear obvious fact it is a different color.

also keep in mind Ququruka has demonstrated he is a leader of some sort. he can make his initiates/followers wear whatever uniform he pleases. it's still within teh scope of the lore
