If you could what would you pick?

let's say you can take something/someone from ffxiv and bring it/them into irl. What would you pick?

For the something part- that would be a difficult choice for me. I would likely bring a fantasia into irl as free hrt (maybe also as a free tail and ears) or an elemental crystal to eat it bc crunchy have scientists study. Likely the fantasia, though I am curious if I can chill water with an ice cluster.
As for the someone I would likely bring in G'raha because he is a kind soul and very friend shaped. Or Tataru because she could easily survive in this world. My third pick would be Urianger- I want to study him under a microscope. So really, any of these characters.

Mao would picks nothing. World of FFXIV has too much stuffs that could get horribly HORRIBLY abused in this world where peoples at each others throats all the times. Better to be safe than sorry. Mao is Mao buts Mao belongs only in FFXIV. Mao player would stay as is. When fantasy becomes reality, much troubles happens.

that would be understandable. tbh, I would not be sure how well it would go if ffxiv interacted with the real world outside of the screen. Definitely a "careful what you wish for" situation I guess

Teleportation still requires aetherytes which don't exist, so if anyone wants teleportation they would need to wish for aetherytes, at which point anyone can use. Aetheryte teleportation might be too powerful for today's world, though it would make space exploration really easy and would let us explore interstellar space.

I would also pick G'raha, because like you said he's very kind and friend-shaped. I'd love to know a person like him, and be his friend. But I also wouldn't want to take him away from his home and friends, so maybe just being able to visit here and there? If picking an item, well... I do like the fantasia idea as well.

Phoenix Down to cause a loophole in the Permanent Death condition that we have in the IRL servers. Is it wise to break the natural order? Probably not.

I'm very biased opinion because he's my favorite character of bringing Zenos into my world. I would really love to introduce him to the mundane tedious life that we currently have. He's very dangerous frenemy shaped, I'd be interested to see him engage in thrill seeking activities? like sky diving, mountain climbing etc (that is not murder)...

Someone else I guess uhhhh... I'd bring Nael/Eula back and take her to therapy but I'd worry she'd try to 5head away to bring our moon down and to cause a server wipe on the existing IRL server.

Hmm... I can't really think of anyone else...maybe Thancred and Alisaie? I think they'd both make good friends and won't break the balance of the IRL servers by having the potential to cause mass extinction events...

Teleportation

No more traffic jams or late-running trains/buses which cost a small fortune to use on a regular basis!

I suspect I'd still somehow manage to be late for work though....

Invisible backpacks. Imagine being able to carry thirty sets of weapons and armor, enough food to feed an army for a year, piles of raw metals and precious stones, and whatever random junk I picked up, without having to worry about weight, size, or anyone being able to see it. Bonus if it brings the armory system along so I can change clothes in an instant.

Teleportation. Far FAAAR away from this world. Trying to seek new civilizations. Exploring.. all that :)

A flying car mount that I can summon with a whistle and make vanish into thin air when I don't need it. Easiest parking in the world. It would also carry 3 of my friends.

The Crystal Tower, it has so much gold and solid crystal it would be worth billions if not trillions of dollars.

That would be very nice. Teleportation would mean I could teleport to the pharmacy in 2 minutes rather than taking 40 minutes to get there. Groceries would be considerably easier with teleportation too

Also, I'm not sure what you mean? The only character I would even consider dating is G'raha (let's be honest, I have a while to go before even thinking of having a SO). Everyone else is just friendship material to me.

I always wondered if there is healing magic fatigue or any side effects. Healing magic is quick wound healing which implies being material intensive (needed nutrients to repair damaged cells quickly etc). I remember that in parts of the game healing magic can only go so far. Though, I would probably like to hear what lore there is on this subject. Sorry, got a little in the weeds there.

Even then, you would need to set up the aetherytes in new locations- so wishing for them may mean wishing for the first set but finding you may need to make more. Well, there are Aetherytes in inhospitable locations so at least they aren't the type of thing to probably fall apart in space.

Ohhh yeah! G'raha visiting Earth would be interesting. Now that I think about it- it would be sad to have him be unable to reunite with his friends and home. So by wishing he could visit Earth would mean he could come around once in a while

Kinda makes me ponder when the pheonix down won't work. Maybe when the person is too far gone or their body is not in the state for living anymore? Though the later may make a oheonix down trickier to use successfully. There are ways of dying that are invisible and scary.
Aetheryte tickets would be nice- aetheryte travel can get expensive so I can imagine the free option is nice.

Zenos is an interesting pick. Who's Nael?
Mass extinction events? We are living through one right now-
You just gave me the thought of Thancred and Alisaie on a road trip. What things would they get up to?

If given the chance to have any amazing, magical invention of our choosing integrated into real life, some of the best options are just "I wish I could be the real me," "I wish I could have healthcare," and "I wish I could get to my job in a decent amount of time." How messed up is our society, that these things are an impossible fairy tale fantasy? Not only that, but even if fantasias, curative magic, and aetherytes were actually real, they would be owned and controlled by huge corporations and only the ultra-wealthy could afford to use them.

Yet its usage can also be as limited as just fixing some issues.

Obesitas, scars from injury like burning, tattoo removal, or some common plastic surgery things are all also options for people to take. This can have a lot of health benefits as plenty of risky surgery actions are now just standard.

Those who would take a complete bonkers appearance already do that now, and usualy in a far worse way. At least with fantasias problems from that can be reversed. And even if it is something like a gender change, it at least is done properly and safely.

I would pick a healer class for real life. Every time you get injured or sick you could just heal yourself or others. Just think if someone died you could just use raise on them.

Curative magic in FFXIV doesn't prevent fatal wounds. IIRC, It's more like very good first aid by helping the body jumpstart its own healing process and expediting it. Magic will not work on targets whose lifeforce is depleted and cannot be replenished, or is suffering from a disease that will not heal naturally (terminal). For that reason, raise doesn't actually bring someone back to life, it brings someone back from unconsciousness. Weakness and Brink of Death are both states where their life force reached the absolute minimum required to stay alive. Recoverable, but just barely, and leaves the body in a state of weakness.

That being said, Benediction is still a pretty good skill to bring over, pretty much a fix-all wound recovery skill, even if it can't remove ailments. I'd consider Esuna or Exuviation as well, but there's only so many limited status ailments you can remove (some poison debuffs aren't removeable either, so Esuna and Exuviation can't do much against fatal ailments), so I expect it has a similar effect to current medicine other than the convenience of not needing multiple types of specific antidotes and antibiotics on the spur of the moment.


Hm. But if we had the Lost Restorative Magicks of Ronka on the other hand, that might be a different story. It might not be able to bring back the dead, but it seems to be exempt from the 'unable to heal targets whose lifeforce is depleted' rule and can remove diseases that will not heal naturally. Sounds like a boon to me.

The inventory, imagine being able to carry so many thing without being affected by the weight or having anyone able to notice you're a walking warehouse.

I don't know how that is supposed to work in game but damn i would love that irl :D

Fantasias can also mean free surgeries (not really surgeries since I imagine that fantasias are probably instructions for the body to change so nothing is really being cut into). Maybe I want a flat chest---

That's quite interesting lore- how are characters that were cleaved in half, burned alive, bled out, fallen into the abyss, etc brought back by raising exactly? This is more of a silly question from me because I know not all mechanics are really lore friendly (looking you, astrologian astrosigns!).

I think logging out is just how you can access the character creator. Irl you would probably go somewhere private to drink your fantasia (or do it in front of your friends to freak them out). Does make me wonder if fantasias require maximum focus. You drink it, get distracted, and oops you suddenly have neon yellow hair!

I'd like to think that a phoenix down is abit more potent than a revive skill since you're appealing to a mythical creature all about immortality/rebirth, however I don't know if that's really how it works. While perusing the wiki I saw things like the quality/beauty of the feather might influence the blessing you get. So I wonder if you managed to find a really beautiful down feather if you'd get far better results? And what does better imply....maybe if you find a really exceptional feather you might be restored fully?

I'm really biased towards Zenos since he's my fav, he's the only char I feel strangely connected to- his loneliness and his view on life! Though he's a total opposite of me, his hobby of hunting people aside...I find certain aspects of him to be inspiring, he's someone who is unapologetically himself, in a world where people are literally becoming undone, him of all people has the answer. I'd love to meet someone like that, as silly as it sounds, he did help me be more 'myself' and accept any quirky/weird bits about me since loving him I got alot of aggressive push back from people who hated him alot.

Nael van Darnus [Eula], you only meet her if you have done the ARR Bahamut raids or played 1.0. She's responsible for pushing for Project Meteor and the subsequent Bozja Incident and...the end of 1.0!

I think her story is quite sad, you only read about it in the Encyclopedia Eorzea, I find the fact that someone who is so grief stricken by the inability to save her brother and his subsequent untimely death causing her to abandon her 'self' and become him...and her later involvement and witnessing of the Bozja incident. I think it's not little to say her psyche is pretty ruined. I like that she rose through the ranks to be Legatus, I think at that time I knew of her, I haven't really heard of any female Legatus being around!

I meant mass extinction as in likely immediate catastrophe/world ending scenarios! Like a meteor hitting earth..

Hmmm, I think Thancred is a very regular guy type of person...but I haven't thought too much about what he'd do on a road trip. As for Alisaie hmm.. I can imagine them arguing in the car over music for some weird reason. I haven't been too invested in these two, but they're like 'hey I think I'd get along with these two just fine and they'd make good friends'....don't think they'd struggle in our world much though I'd imagine Alisaie would be very affected by the injustice/unfairness of our world... I can see her maybe doing animal rescue or something of the sort! She does to have a very gentle heart.

Lorewise, you're technically dead. As in, you're just straight up unable to be revived. They removed that kind of thing later on. Back then getting yeeted from Titan / Sephirot and falling to your doom prevented healers from casting ress because there was no body to ress, but SE thought that was too punishing, so now you're allowed to get the dead body to ress. As for getting burned alive and cleaved in half, those are apparently just a flesh wound. You could be shot 9 times in a cutscene and still come out alive so people are just tenacious as long as it's not a injury that permanently cannot be healed through.

Lost healing magicks of Ronka can repair a dead body (Sin eaters are technically classified as dead) but cannot revive the soul, so go figure.
