Speak for yourself weeb, I'm looking forward to Tacocat!
You will get Y'shtola making a sassy comment, Alisaie threatening to beat up Alphinaud, and Estinien buying a banana for 30,000 gil, and by golly, you will like it.
I'm really hoping dawntrail delivers. If it's more of what we had in EW then I'm out of here.
Yeah...I like the Scions.
I'd kinda like them to revisit a bunch of the job quest NPCs they mostly abandoned when they switched to role quests.
I would prefer if we had fordola, erenville, arenvald , hilda, and gosetsu as the travel companions. Now were stuck with anime wide eyed taco/burger cat who acts like a weeaboo and wiggles his ears and tail around our character sassy cat mom the snobby twins and broody estinien thancred and urianger. It be nice to have at least 1 expansion where we had a new group for once in a foreign land where we don't have a bunch of scholars following us knowing everything so we can have wonder and excitement of new lands.
Now that my beloved frenemy Zenos is dead for good I honestly don't care about the story and the characters anymore. I'm just here to redecorate my houses/IS and to enjoy random casual content for the lulz. :D
Personally, I disagree with this one. While I can respect the distaste of Graha, I feel like he actually does more than Y'shtola does who is just non-stop miss genius figuring everything out off screen in a day. I feel like Graha gets more character development than the strangely popular tsundere.
If you've got it, flaunt it.

I seriously want the WoL to be able to take a break from the scions or something. Like they don't have to all die, but lets have some kind of disaster or event where we at least get separated from the group for a while and are forced into making new alliances with new characters or something. Continuously following the WoL around and acting as cheerleaders for him/her is just aggravating at this point.
I guess I'm with the few who thinks most of the Scions will have a presence just for the vacations/first part of that storyline.
Mao plannings to eat the Twins while Estinien and Urianger nots looking.
But guys , we’re all forgetting the most important plot point!
A super evil bad guy will rise up, we’ll have some ‘oh no he’s too strong’ cutscenes pre-max-level, kill them at max level. Then 2-3 patches they come back to life.
It’s not an ffxiv expansion if there’s not at least 3 fake-out deaths. 2 of which will be Scions
Absolutely! Don’t forget the pained, frustrated look on our characters face as the big baddie saunters off casually, as we shake our fist instead of oh idk, going after them lol
Also as an aside, every time a villain appears on screen and our character stands there dumbfounded all I can think of ‘throw a rock at them!’. I mean, there’s bound to be tons just lying around. It’s so weird that we just stand there and let the enemy pontificate about their goals, then when they’re like ‘I’m out’, we’re like ‘ok daddy’ and just stand there as they walk away to go do more villain things.
Does throwing objects at out of reach targets not exist in Eorzea? Is WoL stupid? (Meme reference lol)
Well of course. They can't just have the WoL use their equipped weapon in a non-job-related cutscene, now can they? If they did, then... I dunno? It'd forever take away their excuse to just write easy outs in the story whenever they want, I guess?
But real talk. I'm going to just have to ignore the fact that we'll be power-reset like Goku at the start of a new DBZ season in the early 2000's, but I'm personally ok with a smaller scale again... even if we all know it won't take long to get big again...
Be prepared for Y'shtola to magically know everything about Tural and it's surroundings despite never knowing anything about it before, because why should the player discover all this when the community's waifu can just explain it to us like our WoL's are idiots?
I love the Scions, and I know I'm not alone. I feel a little bad for you guys on the forums who are sick of them, but overall I'm glad SE is catering to me and others like me. Bring on G'raha with a big fat taco!
Why yes, I do enjoy the Scions’ company. How did you know?
Urianger or Y'shotla will drown us in their exposition diarrhea once again in a new setting.
The hype in every expansion is pretty much the same. New zones, new jobs. Then there's the disappointment that ultimately every job sees some older abilities get stripped away. Grind to level cap on MSQ on first job. Grind PvP or roulettes and then dungeons or sidequests on remaining jobs. Rinse and repeat.
God I feel this. So sad walking past one of them and they have nothing new to say except "thanks for saving the world, hero". Even just having a single level 90 job quest would have been nice.
Or playing a PLD and having the cat boy use passage of arms on you when you're fine. Then there's the 6.5 cutscenes where there are literally 3 paladins in the party now. Considering it was the poster-job for the expansion, PLD enjoyers sure got sidelined a bunch.
Like, I get they have to cater for all the roles in the cutscenes, but it sure does suck all the dramatic tension out of a scene when you know your character is going to do literally nothing of value.
Edit: To address this topic, I'm fine with the scions being around. I'm a scion enjoyer. But they've been around for so long across so many different writers that they're starting to feel like different people.
I wonder how much overlap there is between scion and Zero enjoyers.
