I appreciate the graphical update on the character models.
I am very concerned about limbal rings on au ra... I like and prefer how bright they currently look, and hope the dev team can keep that element prominent on the new models. At first look, they seem to have been dulled out immensely for the update. If there is a way, please keep their glow in the new update.

While I completely understand the appeal of the brightness behind the rings, I do think that the 'after' image here makes the colors look more natural. The colors used on the left look kind of jarring to me while the right looks more blended better.

I wouldn't put it past SE to have accidentally compared different things. Perhaps they intentionally wanted to show contrasting vs complimenting options. Or perhaps they made a mistake because they just couldn't remember what character creator options they used! -

I actually like the new limbal rings. I never realized how outdated and jarring they implemented a polygon to show that glow.
It looks more natural now. -

Leave both options for the "synthetic" ones and the "natural ones" is a good compromise here, but that "upgrade" shouldnt be forced on aura players imo, both should stay an option.
I heavily dislike the new limbal rings, while I loved the old ones, they gave a shiny effect and it was fun to have on my aura alts. -

While I enjoy my alts, I'm an Au Ra Main ATM.
And honestly, if they truly want to follow the motto of keeping things the same, the glow of the limbal rings, and the option to not have them toggled on is changing what our characters look like.
in contradiction to how they wish to keep characters recognizable to their old selves but improved.
I like the mix my characters have with a Lilac/Red/Pink(aka Purple/Red/Pink) in their eyes with the color on the limbal ring being one of those colors washing some of the others down.
This will absolutely change how the Character looks and feels.
Which based on their concern about keeping the look the same. It is of deep concern for them.
(even if it was the slip of a hand, and the color was changed. They Should make sure it isnt. As it cannot be changed/reverted afterwards.
it's one and done when updated.)
Which means that everyone should be taking screenshots of their characters and taking stock of their settings in character creation in case something changes terribly.

You also have to keep in mind, it isn't even totally prosthetic, or android eyes.
Living beings can have glow in parts of their body, so regardless of what you expect of biology, some light bioluminescence is possible in the eye around a specific part of their sight.
Now if you like this new natural look, it's fine to have it.
But as an additional option, not a replacement of the existing thing people have grown with.
The Glow and No Limbal Ring should be Glow/No LR/"Natural/Glowless", instead if No LR/"Natural/Glowless". -

This is easily solved by a luminosity slider. All they need to do is add that and you can make any color dull or neon

I think regardless of how natural the limbal ring looks now, I prefer the glow for my character as I designed my character with that glow in mind and grew to love it even more as time went. The idea behind the update is to make things look better but not have players lose the core essences of character's looks. If people such as I and others prefer to have the glow for the sake of our look for the characters, I'd say allow for players to adjust/customize the ability for those rings to glow and how brightly/frequently rather then adjusting it to a single standard that is dividing Au Ra enjoyers.
This might also warrant the need for a free fantasia for this transition, if it is this divided.
