The Grand Companies have proclaimed the provision of painstakingly produced panoplies and other gear befitting the epic endeavors of their officers. This author had chance to see several such souls bedecked in their newly acquired arms and armor on a recent visit to the Hall of Flames. What with whispers of war with Garlemald turning to talk of a decisive battle on the horizon, perhaps these heroes’ hands hold our only hope.

I hate to be a Negative Nancy here, but it kinda feels like they thought "Hey, it's been two weeks of no info on the Lodestone. Let's make a newspaper article with no interesting info, to make it appear that we're giving them an update".

This is usually the kind of stuff they post before upcoming patch info starts coming in. Next week, I bet we start to see info regarding 1.23 (or I could be wrong and 2.0 site goes up in its place).

Are they trying to tell us we're getting new Company gear that is available to all GC's despite allegiance?

I'm still waitingg for them to reincorporate the Campaign/Conquest system, where you could buy from other factions at an inflated price, they even added a 'black market' through the QiQi Clink Clink network, they may as well utilize them for that purpose.

That is a funny way to think about it, these "news" reports are like cliff notes for people who currently aren't playing the game or haven't gone through said content yet XD.

Considering the current situation in the story-line I would assume that's correct... Which would be awesome because despite being an Adder I really like the Ul'Dah weapons more!

Coupled with the recent news of being able to switch companies in 2.0, I think this would be an awesome move :D

In the german it read more like a reminder that you can now rank up to officier rank and that you can get very good gear as officier.
