thaleia isnt popping and loot isnt dropping

so my boyfriend and i have been trying to grind thaleia for the last 7 days, but unlike day one where even at 11:30st it popped,every day after that it has basically not been popping. the average que taking 25-30 minutes. it doesnt matter either what roles what play, this problem persists

another issue we've noticed seams to be an unbalanced loot table. the healer, tank and melee chests have not dropped whatsoever in my 15 runs so far. infact in my last 2, no chests dropped at all. a reaper in our group said hed had the same issue. meanwhile the caster and striker chests is dropping almost 2x per run (bar the last 2)

i want to know, have you had these experiences. im doing them on EU d(both dc, same issue) is it better elsewhere? have you noticed loot issues?

RNG is RNG in any game. You might have that issue but other people have the very opposite issue of you.

Don't take your small pool of runs as evidence that things are as unbalanced as things seems to be.

Ran it today for my 2nd time. Got the Tank Chest for myself. 1st run I got Tank leggings. Happy camper, the set is gorgeous! It's just RNG.

Healer chest dropped along with my Tank chest today also.

i think you missed the part where i asked if youde had this issue and misread it as me blindly assuming you had had this issue

The loot tables aren't unbalanced. It's just RNG being RNG. One time it took me nearly 30 runs of an alliance raid in a single week to get the chestpiece I wanted. This isn't anything new. It is unfortunate though, that's for sure.

Nope, didn't miss that part in the small first post you had. Each chest has a fixed % of each item dropping. The same item dropping multiple runs has the same base %.

By running it more you do not increase the chances of having said item(s) drop. You just have additional pulls of the items involved in each chest, which people FEEL like they should see something more so than they do.

If 20 items had a 5% chance of dropping and you ran it 100 times, each of those 100 times you'd have a separate 5% chance of it dropping. Nothing that can change that in the game. Getting it 0 times out of 100? Pretty damn low, but not 100% impossible. Seeing the same item 100 times in a row, just the opposite side of that.

Wasn't paying much attention to the loot, but got in as DPS last night around 7:30pm in under 5 minutes (prob ~2-3 minute queue).

No issues getting into it. Like 30 seconds in queue as a DPS this morning at like 10 est.
Can't help ya with the gear as I don't need any/don't care for the alliance gear so I've ignored it.

My first run of Thaleia was on the night it came out. Duty Finder estimated a 30 minute queue, but ended up only being about half that. The second night I think was a little shorter. Tonight I ran it and only waited a couple minutes before it popped.

Was playing prime time on Aether in NA.

Running on Materia, PF, 3 runs on weekly reset. Each PF took about 5min, at most, to fill. Got my healer legs on 1st run but want the minion, card and music. Rolled 98 on the card, to lose....

If RNG says "F u", then you're F'ed. End of story. Lol.

That's the reason why I don't hardly ever raid is because of RNG loot drops. When I only get couple hours a day to play, I don't have time to make multiple runs to try for gear piece you need.

the fights in this dungeon are so boring i dont have any motivatuon to go in there several times a week... and i doubt the weekly visit will last for many weeks.

Considering you're on EU, I'd note here that 11:30 ST is the middle of the day, when most people are at work. On first days of the patch online is significantly higher because some players take days off specifically to clear new content as fast as possible + there's a portion of playerbase that is only active during week 1-2 and then unsubs for the rest of the patch, so it's a normal occurence to have noticeably shorter waiting time for duties on Week 1. If you mean 11:30 ST in the evening... now that would be a bit weird, and I generally don't have any issues with DF at that time even when I'm going as DPS who tend to have longer queues.

As for the loot, RNG be RNG sadly, there's nothing new in that regard. I had to clear The Grand Comsos (level 80 dungeon from Shadowbringers) 130 times before I finally got the Casting Body I aimed for. I still shudder every time I get this dungeon in a daily rouletter because I swear it's my worst case of absolute unluckiness with loot in the 10 years I'm playing, this dungeon is my nightmare at this point. You're either lucky or not.

Just report it not dropping as a bug, maybe if they get enough reports for that they might finally consider trying something different than putting the loot drops behind two layers of RNG as it's not even guaranteed to drop a piece of loot for every slot per run and then you have to also get the gear for the correct job to drop as well.

I managed to get in fast all the time I have tried on chaos. I saw the mage body drop once and I was lucky to get it last week but this week wanted the head piece and I had some serious lag on my PS5 and I clicked greed on healer hands...I tried to pass them but they dropped as I clicked pass so was little bit pissed off lol. I thought it gave you more time to pass if it was done by mistake but oh well I will have to wait till next week.

It's been a week or two since patch release now yeah? Sounds about right in terms of the time wait.

Week 1 usually has the most people doing things and then by Week 2 all the tryhards are basically done (As a side note, you dont even need the gear since 7.0 ilvl req will be somewhere in the 635 range for MSQ so unless you're trying to farm something it's a one and done experience.)

Now you're relying on people who don't always do content to want to do content/waiting on people who feel like farming it.

The most I’ve been waiting was about 2 minutes. Done it about 7-8 times.

As for the loot it’s rng: there’s 35 pieces in total and only 8 drop. It’s a fresh roll every time so you can go several runs without seeing what you are looking for and there can be duplicates in a same run. 1st boss it’s head and/or feet, 2nd arms and/or legs, 3rd chest and/or feet, 4th is anything but feet. There are three pieces I’m interested in and I saw only one of them so far. They’ll drop eventually.

So far I did not get anything yet, not a single card or orchestrion. Rolled a 98 on the minion and lost.

I managed to get a piece i wanted(caster boots) on my 2nd run of week one. No significant waits for ques(less then 5 mins each), and i typically play late-night east coast. I for sure saw one of the pieces you mentioned, so its just RNG doing its thing. I have yet to do any runs this week, but i will. Still need coins, still need the card and mini. Though i did manage to get lucky and win a music roll on each of my 2 runs, so only one of those left(the first one).

Sharing my own RNG too as far as I can remember:

Week 1 goal was the healer top - 9 runs in total. There were lots and lots of scouting and fending tops. I won this after seeing it dropped for first time in 9th run... and because my cohealer rolled a 7 and I rolled an 8 lmao.

Week 2 (now) goal is the fending top - 12 runs in total. Suddenly all those fending tops from week 1 are gone, replaced by lots and lots of scouting, caster, and striking tops.

Week 3 goal gonna be caster top... and I'm sure suddenly all those caster robes will be gone after next reset lol.

Such is the RNG and the murphy law.

Healer chest piece is yet another long robe, so just glam one of the hundreds you already have if you want it for that.

i did like 10 runs past week, across all days and always got pops within 10 minutes (also playing on EU-DCs)

maybe change the language setting from jp only to all languages

Cheer up, if you happen to get me as a co-healer in Thaleia I won't be competing for any healer or caster gear, they're the only sets out of these 3 raids that I find hideous.

However I will roll on the other sets- which will meant that I'll be waiting until DT..

I fall into the "minion, music, cards" category.. come to think of it, at the frequency that I run this raid, I'll likely be waiting until DT for those too.:D

I like the Aiming set, but that's...basically it.

Meh, RNG loot with 24-man and 4-man of lv50/60/70/80/90 dungeons are always hair-pulling cuz they refuse to drop what you want, or they do drop then you just get over-rolled by someone else with the same job role.


I wish SE to look at those weekly currencies of 24-man raid and allow players to trade those currencies into the piece of gear they like the same way you trade them for tome-gear upgrade items. For example, gear of 1st Myth raid requires only its own coin. 2nd raid requires 1st and 2nd raid coins. 3rd raid requires all three coins. This way, there will be much less RNG to deal with, and it will actually encourage players to run 24-man raid contents more to collect coins or gears.

this isn't gear but I've got this weird bug where I can't roll above 40 on the minion isn't that so weird haha
