I notice a few very disturbing trends and I think ToS needs to be tweaked to include the following as prohibited.
1) people treating this game like its tinder.
Now before you crucify me on this one. Yeah I get the whole venue thing and actual couples who met in game. However the trend I talk about is the pfs I see of people seeking a bf or gf for in game and/or irl as well. Like I know online isn't rated but we got kids who play this game and stuff.
There needs to be a huge limit here and yes we can even include venue ad spam. Probably better off that's not on pf...same with feet girl who been using ffxiv as her platform to sell feet pics since covid started and square allows it.
2) begging in pf.
This has gotten a bit out of hand. You see people constantly begging for gil (or masking it as "donations"), you see people beg for mounts or mogstation items. Heck I even seen one beg for people to donate money to them to pay their own rent. That last one is mind boggling because everyone should know, bills come first. Always plan in case of problem spots.
I banter tho. Those two things really need to be added to tos as prohibited and of course venue ad spam cleaned up on pf.

I agree with the begging. Maidenless behavior. The tinder part ain't ever gonna happen though. Looking at PF, most people seem to be playing this game like it's IMVU or Second Life. Cut that out and they'd lose quite a bit of money, and as a corporation that's all that matters at the end of the day.

Also it's none of your business what people do in this game, if they want to find partners in the game, so be it, good for them, hopefully they find their soulmate and continue on with a happier life than before, if not, well that's sad but life goes on, I'm not sure who you think you are to decide what people can or cant do with their gametime.

'begging' for items that are either real-world goods or items traded with real-world currencies should be explicitly prohibited I would agree, purely because it does skirt the line with already-existing ToS entries. Beyond that, I am not really sure, honestly. At least for the 'e-begging' topic.
As for venue-ad spam, I think it needs to be carefully thought about for sure, I think it should only 1 be one advertisement per venue via PF, and advertising via /shout should be done sparingly. I know fellowships do exist and they have some niche uses, but I do think that separating out PF categories would help, e.g., add a social option, and then allow the other category for other miscellaneous things such as in-game trading with tomes, etc.,
Advertising 'not-safe' content on PF should be considered, but this particular thing just strikes me as something that you dislike and/or find 'cringeworthy' more than anything else, really. Explicit content such as advertising feet pics etc., on PF I do agree should absolutely be actioned. But honestly with a lot of things... What people think other people are doing and what people are actually doing are 2 entirely different things. These days you can have people being convinced that ERP'ing is going on in a public space simply because there are 2 people doing /hum and facing one another. - It's mind-boggling the postulations that people spin up in their own imagination. This is a little side tangent, but it does fall under the umbrella of being under the belief that people are using the game like a secondary Tinder etc., I guess. -

The free trial being extended beyond level 35 might have changed that, because before that you effectively needed to have a bank account with an awful lot of pocket money in order to play any past endgame content. Soon, you won't need one all the way up through Stormblood, so the amount of younger players could have significantly increased.
But I don't know, does this game really appeal to people that young compared to other aesthetics? Regardless, I doubt most of them get to level 90 because that would require paying.

I'm sure the players making pfs and shouting will get trolled or messed with at the least, and if people want to treat the game like tinder then they'll eventually realize that they're destroying the quality of their matches through their own existences in the dating pool. -

Goldshire has spilled out into Stormwind quite blatantly. There are strip club venues all over on Moon Guard just like there is in FF14, as well as brothels and other very very questionable things. One of which takes place in the catacombs of the Stormwind Cathedral. Also, I'll take Balmung Shout chat over Moon Guard Trade Chat any day of the week. At least on Balmung it's at most just sort of lewd and crude. Moon Guard's trade chat is a legit cesspool that makes the LoL forums look friendly.Quote:
