This area's not zoned for that sorta construction. I'm gonna need to go ahead and see some permits.

I wonder if we'll ever find out what these buildings are for. They might not exist in V2.
that silos been there since launch, bu never used. I don't think is ever mentioned why they're there
Are they buildings? They look like landed and locked up Juggernaughts to me.
The zone maps in the 2.0 concept PDFs call them "mako engines" or something to that effect (mako something, at least). Not sure if that's a finalized name.
Sounds fishy to me.
In that case, they can be allowed to stand as grandfather clauses in the zoning ordinances allow for this sort of thing. HOWEVER, this is a drake preservation and rehabilitation area. Any future construction must be approved by the Ul'dah city council. I've got my eyes on you, Imperials...
Theoretically.
That place is a Ceruleum mining operation. Remember that Ceruleum is the fuel of choice in Eorzea (even gridania uses it in their lanterns outside the city).
In fact, the map has 'Ceruleum Field' in Aeorzean script on it even!
I thought I remembered in one of the GC missions that Ul'dah has all the ceruleum (as a Lominsan, I was trying to steal it). So it would be safe to say that the mining operation is U'dahn rather than Garlean.
They couldn't do it in Limsa because Merlwyb wasn't having it :D
Lalafelltek Corporation Property.
Good heavens! These operations are being carried out by Ul'dahns themselves!? I never heard a vote to allow this kind of mining operation. Where is the documentation of research on potential environmental hazard this could cause?? There must be some sort of cover-up going on here. I will not stand for it! NOT IN MY BACKYARD, YOU HEAR ME!
Yeah...those have been in the game since launch, and they aren't Garlean. Without those Ceruleum mines, we wouldn't have airships, so don't complain!
that the Lalafell Robomaid Factory. That y u see a lot of Lalafell's around Ul'Dah.
Believe it's safe to say those belong to the Garlond Ironworks, not Ul'dah. Cid mentions that the mountains are incredibly rich with Ceruleum (So much so that if something were to set it off, it would blow up all of Northern Thanalan), and that the Ironworks has been doing research on them. Something like that, anyways.
Not Garlean.
Sweet, so Uldah is making weapons of mass destruction. Bout time we fight fire with fire.
I think it should be pretty clear what those constructions are.
Why so much mis-information in this thread? Do people really just straight-up ignore the plot in this game? This isn't WoW, it's Final Fantasy. The story is kind of awesome, I'd urge you all to pay attention.
