Turn World PVP on for Gatherers

There is no threat to gathering.

Turn on World PVP if we are switched to a gathering class. Let us steal other people's resources.

Bonus points if you can turn it on for crafting classes too. Would love to whack a carpenter around the head with my cooking pan and steal their HQ logs.

The threat to gathering is the chance of not getting the item. This idea is idiotic.

That's not a threat. You just try again.

A threat is the risk of losing all of your gear to somebody equipped with a fishing rod.

Idk, FSH would be at a distinct disadvantage because of having a lower ilvl than the other Gatherers since their Gig never got updated and don't the offhands for the others offer more VIT?

Sync iLevel between everybody? Similar to Frontline.

You get specific spells related to your class. Like idk, a fisherman throws a salmon or something. But a salmon with stones in its stomach, to make it comparable to somebody tossing a log.

Unless it is crafting, then it is all-out warfare with auto-attacks.

Fisher is even more at a disadvantage. Not only is he even more immobile than other gatherers, he also gathers way slower, which means he will lose more value with every fish stolen. Also there are really rare fish which only spawn once a week or so and it would be really unfair to get one of those stolen. That's like someone steals your savage loot for the week.

On the plus side fisher has lots of useless junk fish wich are cluttering the inventory, so you can probably reduce the odds that something valuable gets stolen.

But anyway, a bunch of gankers staying at the fishing spot at the time when a rare big fish spawns to knock out every fisher who happens to catch the fish is not a threat, that's destroying the whole fisher class.

Fisher has to deal with enough RNG and gameplay anyway, there is no need for additional threat. And arguably fishing should be relaxing anyway.

so the next Diadem equivalent would be a Frontlines map

but you can only use Gathering and Crafting Classes

just like other PvP Jobs, you have your own separate hotbar full of deadly DOH/DOL actions

Goldsmith can Summon Bahamammet and has a Melee Caster rotation like Red Mage, but themed on Godbert

Fisher can Harpoon people and pull them from 20 yalms away, Silence with Flying Sardine

Miner gives people Vuln Up

Alchemist is a DOT dps (has Triglyceride-Disaster) that throws vials to create toxic puddles and buffs the party with illegal stimulants, uses Somnus to CC people

Culinarian has Salted Earth but it uses real salt, Riddle of Fryer, Cream within a Cream, Dragon Pepper Kick, Broil which upgrades to Sautée if you successfully detonate Earthly Starch, Frypan-haima, etc

Tank classes
Armorer
Miner

Healer classes
Botanist (wields scythe, uses Black Shroud Gauge to build up to burst window where they temporarily become a tree)
Culinarian

Melee classes
Carpenter (saws you)
Blacksmith (hits you with a hammer)
Leatherworker (flays you)

Ranged Physical classes
Fisher
Weaver (shoots needles like a cactuar)

Caster classes
Goldsmith
Alchemist

Gathering resources, or crafting using them, contributes points to your team... but you also keep them when you exit and can sell them or use them to craft

KOing someone transfers all the gathered or crafted goods that they've collected on the battlefield so far into your inventory

your Limit Break is the Auger from Diadem, which you can use to delete people

Nodes were shared in the alpha version of 2.0 and we begged them to not to do that to us.

ESO resource nodes are shared. The amount of nasty messages I've gotten from people that I beat to a node always brings a smile to my face, especially Alchemy nodes. The salt of picking up some Columbine is delicious

They never actually used to be shared in ESO. Really annoyed me during the double gathering events. You'd rock up to a node, and then some mob would start pounding on you, and somebody would sneak in behind and take the node from ya. So irritating.

OP is the same type of person that goes into a level 20 zone as a level 60 and ganks people. OP is not a pvper.

There's a reason no one ever flagged for pvp in New World and why the devs opted to not have forced pvp after all their beta testing.

I've never done that in my life. I rarely world PVP in any game. Only time I have 'killed' people much lower than me in a world PVP game is if the player is harassing a guild mate or a friend.

I'm more of an arranged PVP sorta person.

But sure, attack me all you want. You know what they say "Dictators attack the person, not the idea".

The kind of person that usually wants this sort of thing fits into the type known as a griefer. Silver-Strider has already admitted that he is.

If you want continuous open world pvp, this is the wrong game. Go play Archerage; the game is set up exactly how you're asking.

As someone who played FF11, it sucks to fight over nodes when ultimately the gil farming bots monopolized the nodes. They would also use mob trains to MPK you.

If it was something like a specific map (diadem?) then sure, game on.

Open world, No thanks.

As silly as it sound i love the idea of gatherer pvp, even more if it trigger the hall of novice battle theme.

This is why I left Runescape long ago. Spend hours gathering stuff in the wilds, and some scumbag comes by, kills you and takes all your stuff.

Have you ever right-clicked to autoattack an enemy when on a gathering class?

This would be the most boring PvP in the history of PvP.

Did you get a chance to join any of the kill squads in Diadem during the Restoration? That was fun axing a mob to death.

Someone would need to be really bad at this game if they had to multibox to do it.

A gatherer distracted by a node is an opportunity to take their back and lock on a choke or suplex. A lalafell fishing is a chance to punt them into the ocean and move into their house.

Ah yes, because that is what is missing from a non-combat side aspect of the game. Combat. I often yearn for an axe in the back of the neck when crafting myself.
