Can something be done about the "Fake" Completion required EX6 groups?

2 weeks now, 2 weeks and not a single EX6 group i have found has been a legit farm group.

"Farm party, come join, 640 ilevel required, completion required."
Join and find half the party cant do it.

Im not complaining about that one person who has researched the fight and come close in other groups, Sure they should make an A2C group but often they manage, what im complaining about is joining and finding 3+ sometimes 5 or 6 people have not cleared and cant even do the first half of gale2.
If i wanted to spend the full timer wiping i would run a teaching group (I host them every few weeks just to try get the player count up on Materia who have done it)

Isnt the title supposed to be a different color if anyone in the party hasn't cleared?
And yet each of these party's have the orange text and everything like a proper group.

I just want a group that can farm the mount full of people with at the very least 1 kill but they dont seem to exist anymore on Materia ><

Isn't the text supposed to be blue if someone in the party hasn't done it? Or is it only blue if the party leader hasn't?
Either way, slipping people in a farm party when they haven't even reached Gale2 is taking the piss, especially since 1 person dead can and often does result in wipes.
2 freaking weeks since I last found a group that can do it listed as a farm group!

They aren't always accurate, to be honest.

I gave EX6 a try a few times myself last week - haven't completed it yet though.

One of the parties I joined was clearly 'advertised' as a Practice run, however some of the party members took offense at my admittance that I was new, and inexperienced, where this trial was concerned. Though have to admit that I, at that point, hadn't watched the apparently essential "Hector guide"*. In view of this I opted to leave, and I was clearly not wanted and was hesitant about doing it in the first place!

*I've since watched said guide and to be honest, it didn't really help as I don't tend to be able to memorize what I see in guide videos.

You can select [Duty Complete] as option when hosting and it will only allow people who cleared to join, for other people this will be one of the coloured tags in front of the description. Some PFs dont select this option however and instead simply write "[Duty Complete]" into the description at which point it doesnt actually force you to have cleared to be able to join.

I can relate. The last week I have joined many farm parties and out of all of them I only got 2 clears (and each of those clears were separate parties).

I could do the whole fight flawlessly hundreds of times (and have almost 100 totems to show that), but it doesn't seem everyone joining farm parties is in quite the same boat.

An orange party means it's a same-world party. A blue party means it is a cross-world party. Blue text means the party leader set [Duty Completion], but this can be set even if nobody is new. Yellow/orange text means the party leader set [Loot] (which implies it's a farm party usually). Green text means they set [Practice]. [Duty Complete] means everyone in the party has (or should have) cleared. [Duty Incomplete] means everyone in the party has not (or shouldn't have) cleared.

The only way you can know for certain if someone hasn't cleared is if it shows a bonus tomestone message when you enter the duty.

Came here to post this: pay attention to the chat window when entering the duty. If it shows something about a new member having to complete the duty bonus tomestones blabla, you know you're being lied to and the party leader sneaked in someone for the kill.

Mind you.

Most people that already cleared and are farming the fight still wipe at double meteors.

To be fair there isn't much space to write how you intend on handling the mechanics and also explain that you have both experienced and inexperienced players in your party unless you're Japanese in which case you can write an entire thesis in the two lines given.

Cleared doesn't mean that there aren't still some things to clean up. I finally got my cat last night after 78 clears. And I can tell you for quite a bit after I cleared, I was getting clipped by the second void stardust. Just didn't have the timing and movement down. I do now and I've gotten to the point with repetition where I can do everything without any errors. It definitely took some practice. You can also clear Gales in a rather messy manner and still get the kill.

Also sometimes it can take a group a pull or two to work the kinks out. Unfortunately, people dip and then you have to refill and start all over again. It can be frustrating in a farm party.

I do see plenty of groups that are Gale 2 or Stardust 2 prog that I join to help when I'm done with other things for the night and can't get past Double Meteors. Usually it's just bad luck with a death too close to that mechanic. And ironically most of my clears have been in those sorts of groups because everyone stays and things do come together after a pull or two. Just all seems to be the nature of PF, which I'm getting back into after being away from the harder content for years.

The main appeal to do EX6 was obtaining " The 645 iLvl Weapon " as prep work to be as geared as possible for week 1 raiding. This appeal becomes swiftly unnecessary hassle as other options became available that are good enough to do the Job anyways.

• 640 ilvl - HQ crafted Diadochos Blade ( pentamelded if you wish )
• 650 ilvl - Tome weapon ( very soon or if you're lucky )
• 660 ilvl - Tome weapon Augmented ( usually if you're lucky )
• 665 ilvl - Ascension P12 Savage weapon ( if you're a gamer )

EX6 doesn't offer much to Raiders to really need it to be Raid ready, this tier's DPS requirement also isn't as harsh to need something desperately before their next upgrade. Unfortunately? This doesn't give much incentive for Raiders to do this fight who usually are " above the average player " in terms of Skill. This essentially filters them out, making the quality of the potential farm parties worse.

The other incentives aren't great either for this fight...

• Glamour Aesthetics like Weapons/Mount etc
• Money Making potential, think mats
• Furniture or Trophies
• Collection Enthusiasts

This fights Glamour or weapons aren't shiny ( *yet* ). The " Lynx of Fallen Shadow Flute " is the same mount as the other EX's again only different color. The faded orchestrion isn't a bad track, but not a banger enough to make money out of it selling at a measly 1500 Gil give or take currently. Unlike the other EX bosses that have trophy's and mats to sell for good coin, this one doesn't. And for Triple Triad enthusiasts? well this card drops in Normal mode.

What I suspect? is players waiting to gain enough ilvl over time with tome and/or raid gear to Bruteforce skip the hardest mechanic which is Gale Sphere 2 and farm it once its possible or if they wanted to as this is just way less of a headache. Because currently? there's a lack of reason to do this fight, and most of the best players are busy Raiding the current tier.

Temper your expectations of EX6 farming parties for the time being, mhm

Raiders are doing this fight for the weapon, because I've met plenty of people doing it who are also doing savage. I even meet people getting the weapon on their raid alts (and I've got it on mine as well). It's worth doing the first extreme of a tier if you raid, just not the second one unless you are still struggling with savage 4 months later and haven't even beat the third floor for the tomestone weapon augment yet.

I agree on the DPS requirement though because we had such a massive stack of advantages from the beginning even without the weapon, such as being 10 item levels above the first floor, a week's advantage of tomestone gear and most likely SE not wanting a repeat of what happened in the previous tier.

And this isn't to say that all raiders do the extreme. I have met plenty of people doing savage in 630 gear (or lower :confused:). But it's hardly true that no savage raiders have been doing it.

I am personally of the opinion that if you aren't running with a static then you don't get to complain.

It isn't difficult to find an FC, group of friends or static in need and most the linkshells I am in often have several people every night asking if anyone could help fill a spot. Additionally there's nothing stopping you as a person from making a thing in the PF yourself that can have whatever rules -you- want. If your reply to me stating that is "yeah but nobody wants to join because i only want people who've officially cleared it" and/or "I don't know the quality of the people joining" then all I can say is that sounds like a you problem and not a problem with how the system is currently implemented.

If you want people you know who can clear it then you need to find a static. Otherwise, don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

In this era you don't have time because NO one has time.
Until a few years ago there were mails. You did send a mail and had to wait days or weeks for an answer.

Today is different: today you send an e-mail and if you don't see a reply in a few minutes you begin to grumble, maybe you send the same e-mail another time with an HIGH priority, because you and I and everyone have NOtime, and patience.

(I agree with you, for me the fun in a game is "understand and find a solution for a problem" thus it's easy to understand how much I like to watch an useless guide made by a random one gaining money by ruining my fun).

This is a bit unreliable as well. Many times I've been into [Duty Complete] parties with repeated wipes on several parts of the encounter. Which this is possible that some people get to earn the clear by not fully understanding the mechanics. The best example this is P5S Devour - some people mastering ZigZag pattern and calling the day, but completely messing up when the other pattern appeared.

I honestly just join clear parties when I have absolute grasp of the encounter in my role. And if I change roles, is [practice] groups again until I understand what I'm doing.

There are different levels of practice. If it was practice but was marked as a specific point of prog, like Gales 2 or Stardust 2, then those are late fight mechanics and the team would expect everyone to know things up to that point.

If you see either the Beginners Welcome tag or it says something like "fresh" or "blind prog" then those are the parties where they won't mind if someone is new and inexperienced. Or if they're on prog for an earlier mechanic in the fight.

This right here. To add to Saraide's point, an unfortunate truth is that people lie about their fight knowledge in PF. You sometimes have people that cleared the fight, but were carried through it so they aren't truly competent at it. Best you can do is kick people are holding the group back if they joined a farm party, but are consistently dying to mechanics. They'd only have themselves to blame for joining a farm and not being ready for it.
