When they show up they're nice to add small accents and fill out a look.
The problem is so many pieces of glamour hide them by default. I only have a few necklaces and earrings because they're hidden so often and I have no ring or bracelet glamours because I always use gloves.
I would appreciate more options though, especially ones that glow or sparkle or otherwise stand out.
100% of my glamours have the dodo earring.
Yes but actually no. I’ll try and find something that goes with the rest of the glamour but the stormblood change from all to role is an unnecessary hassle that I can’t really be bothered with. Given the failure of that change, the lack of reversion there seems like a pretty pathetic attempt to save face. Half the reason I bother is because they’re about as visible as shoes are on the average height races.
Not really bothered by the behemoth/animal hanging from ear ones though.
I don't use bracelets and rings much, but earrings and necklaces are nice where visible and I'll do my best to find something that matches the outfit, depending on the character. (Some of my characters wear earrings, some don't.)
How do you measure "failure" there? Sure it's annoying and I'd rather have the all-class jewellery back, but in what way would they think that it has failed?
99% of the time I use Emperor's New everything for the accessories. There are a few earrings that go with sets, one necklace, and then zero bracelets and rings.
Yes, I certainly do!
I only bother when they're actually visible. So mostly just earrings and sometimes necklaces. Rings and wrists are usually covered up.
Is VERY importants to Mao! Mao favorites are Manusya accessories. Thems SHINY! Mao has set for BLMs, WHMs and DRGs.
It's a bit of a black box, but depending on how cynical you are, it was either a change to streamline things or to prevent tanks using strength accessories. Between the 4.0 tank accessory issue and having to store 5 identical necklaces if I want to glamour e.g the ronkan one on healer/tank/strdps/dexdps/caster it's been nothing but bother. Perhaps it's just to make things recommended gear suggests less stupid, but surely adjusting that would be less inconvenient? I don't think it even goes by ilvl anyway because my crafters/gatherers didn't autoequip the more recent gear in every slot.
Yes I care a lot. I think earrings in general are disgusting. Well sometimes they are okay I think. And I don't like rings either. So I have to make them invisible asap.
The Glass Pumpkin Earring from Palace of the Dead glows.
I like it when they can be seen :)
+ it adds details to my glam sets.
Add to that the fact they immediately had to walk back the changes made to tank accessories, because when tanks looked at the 100% vit and 0% damage gear they went "nope!" and equipped HW dps accessories.
Indifferent about rings and bracelets since they're covered up most of the time anyway, but I absolutely care about necklaces and earrings. Our character's necks are actually really jank and being able to somewhat hide this is quite helpful.
Weathered earrings 4 ever~
I do care.
A lot of them look great on my character, but I'm only able to keep a few of them
I'm forced to discard most of my collection of accessories because of

I, for one, absolutely love how many necklaces they've been adding since ShB, both as part of the chest piece and as a neck slot item. I was sick and tired of chokers.
You know what I'd love more of though? one-sided earrings, or ear cuffs like Zero's. They don't have to be anything extravagant, just a little ring piercing like the weathered earring will do. Pretty please
Yes. Earrings are big for me.
Yes the accessories are fairly important to me, personally.
I'm using the Proto Ultima accessories until I get around to getting the HoH/PotD set.
I'm not quite sure of the logic for the gear recommender, but I think it's based on specific substats and possibly spiritbonding percentage rather than IL.
Also, if the recommender could be fixed easily, I would have hoped they would have fixed it by now to stop confusing new players and putting sub-Lv50 tanks in DPS gear.
As for managing them, unless it's a unique-looking dungeon drop or something I'll use frequently, I find it easier to just buy pieces as needed rather than storing them in advance. The system is inconvenient but that seems the easiest way to work with it.
Much as glamour is the "true endgame", the devs regularly prioritise the other endgame's stats over glamour accessibility, locking things down to ensure they get equipped by the intended job rather than opening them up for flexibility. There's nothing in that which suggests inherent failure, just different priorities.
If you pay attention you will see a pattern in this thread: Big ears - "Yes--(something about earrings)" and Big hands and necks - "Yes--(something about rings and necklaces)."
On a lala you can't see anything that small and they tend to care less. On a Roe, you can see everything and they tend to care more. The amount people care is usually proportionate to the likelihood that you can see the accessories in question.
As a Roe, I will glamor my accessories when they are too hideous to ignore.
Nah, I just Emperor's New [X] accessory slots. Necklaces could be good, but unfortunately we rarely ever get actual necklaces, just chokers, most of which just don't look good imo.
Plus, I can't ever even see earrings on my main character, who is a Raen. This is why horn accessories would be cooler for the Au Ra ear slot.
I would really like that too but my impression is that there's only one universal placement for the earring model relative to the character's head, so horn decorations only work if they can equally connect with every possible horn shape. (Personally I would have preferred less variation in shape and more variation in accessories, but it's rather too late for that.)
Some Au Ra faces have horn decorations as one of their unique modifiers, but from memory that's mostly the male faces while females tend to get more customisation of scale placement.
My favorites are the Menphina earring with the moon and dangly glowy bits, and the Woad Skywarrior’s Ring which has a star crystal. I usually have those in just about every glam, only switching out the earrings or one of the rings if needed to better match an outfit.
I generally don’t wear necklaces, because almost everything seems to look like a choker… even on my Hyur! Most bracelets get covered by gear, so I don’t bother.
I like celestial themed jewelry, and would like to see more of it. Lunar Envoy had some cute earrings, but the other pieces didn’t really thrill me.
But what I’d really like to see is a fashion accessory gear slot, that’s purely for glam and doesn’t disappear like the current ones you have to activate. Things that are essentially gear shouldn’t be in the same category as umbrellas and wings! I wear my ribbon around my ponytail, so that takes up my head slot most of the time, and it would be nice to not have to choose between that and things like glasses or a barrette! We got rid of belts, we could fit one extra slot for something like this! lol
I mostly only care about earrings and necklaces, my bracelets are hidden 99% of the time because of my gloves and rings are meh.
Yes. 10/char
Yeah I do but they decided to put the earrings on the floppy ears on the back of the ear instead of in front like an all the other Viera ears because why not.
I think they're a neat 'finishing touch' to a glamour plate, to give more details (or you probably just love all those danglings shinies like a christmas tree.) It's especially satisfying when you can match and/or blend the proper colors, IMHO.
I can't say the same when I'm playing my other non-hyur alts though. For the most parts, I like to keep their ears/horns free and focus on other parts of their glams.
I don’t really see an issue with tanks having access to native dh rather than just through melding. It also gives melee dps the ability to opt out of mandatory skill speed if there’s some on both rings or whatever. If it really upsets the devs they could have a backend check that says something along the lines of “your gear currently has x mainstat in content balanced around x+y mainstat. Are you sure you wish to continue?” On the off chance some scholar equips only strength accessories to get bigger autos at the cost of literally everything else. Kind of sucks that it wouldn’t add a way to dodge piety as easily as tenacity but it is what it is.
The devs use substats for balancing jobs. Putting Skillspeed on everything is a way to nerf melee jobs without actually reducing their potencies.
I remember at the end of HW they put Parry on everything for tanks while they have already admitted that Parry was a useless stat and that they would replace it with Tenacity in SB. The intend was to keep tank dps low.
They also generally put better sub stats on savage raid gear than the tomestone gear to make the savage raid more rewarding.
I think the thing is, tank and slaying accessories are the only ones that are interchangable and remain useful when worn by the "wrong" role. For everyone else, the primary attack stat (dex/mind/int) is different and they don't benefit from it. This just evens it out so that nobody can share and nobody can get recommended the wrong items (as they do before Lv60).
Earrings I like if they're paired or they look like nice jewelry and not some critter hanging from your ear.
Necklaces I try to use whenever possible. The Astral Choker is one of my favorites. The Wayfarer's Necklace is also quite nice.
Bracelets are hard to put in outfits because there are extremely few level 1 bracelets.
Rings are hit and miss, mostly miss because the majority of them are bulky and not very subtle. Sometimes I use them, but not usually.
Ehhh it depends. I like the Lyse rose earrings a lot and I use them in almost every glam plate, but I do have other ones I like and will use on occasion. Sometimes bracelets look good and I would add them into my glam dresser... if I had the room. Necklaces are more chokers and not all of them look great. I like some, but would rather just hide them overall.
While not entirely accessories, I do really like the casting ringbands, some of those meld well into some bracelets. :D
Rings are a big MEH, I don't like them. Too bulky. There's few models I like in those and would likely Emperor's New Ring over them instead.
Yes and no. BiS gear is usually a mix of both savage and tome gear, and has been for as long as I can remember. They put "useless" gear pieces in both sets, most likely so your source of good gear doesn't just come from a single activity.
On a side note I wish they would expand this, give us more sources of potentially best-in-slot gear. I wouldn't mind if Criterion or even the newest Alliance raid gave you gear at the current max ilvl. The content comes out so late into a raid tier that it really shouldn't be immediately worse than what you already have.
I care a lot about necklaces because they are really visible. I even wish some or all of them were dyeable, because we get some nice ones that look like parts of the armor, like the Edenmete frilly necklace, the Redbill scarf, among others - would be amazign to dye those.
The rest... earrings sometimes are nice, but I rarely work with rings or bracelets because 90% of the gloves hide them anyway.
I still don't like when they make an earring some "BIG PRIZE" i.e. Sil'dhin(sp?) earring. It's nice when they are a part of something else, but not big value as a standalone item.
Earrings yes, the other accessories are whatever tbh.
Yep' a lot ! I cannot finish my outfits without earrings.
No. Hate it when they have useless glam slots like that for moogle events.
Bis is usually 50/50 augmented tome and savage give or take, except for some particularly aggressive healer builds and less regularly other roles where the savage/tome ring is so utterly detrimental that using pentamded or tome/aug tome to get a decent speed tier/not have piety/tenacity is a gain in damage despite the loss of a few points of main stat.
I have a bit of deja vu so I may have written this comment in here somewhere earlier.
Earrings: between Peach Blossoms from Little Ladies Day, crafted flower earrings, or Palm Ears because of angel wings
Rings: mostly using Darbar Ring
Necklace: mostly Redbill Scarf or the crafted flower necklace
Bracelet: whatever
I glamour necklaces and earrings but not rings or bracelets. Most the time rings and bracelets never show up on glamours I use.
