Will we ever get any solo ultimates?

ultimate bosses are the endgame bosses for ffxiv, but those are strictly locked behind parties and statics. Having content such as criterion dungeons are kind of the start to true solo content wrt to patch and ilvl, so when do we get savage solo bosses and ultimate fights that we can solo?

ps: im not talking about unsynched or soloing past content, i mean actual solo bosses or ex trials that are doable with synched ilvl, with any class.

A equivalent to the Mage Tower in WoW would be nice. But will never happen. Put some nice Glam behind it and people will mald cause they cant pay to get carried.

We had this in Bozja. But it was locked behind other bosses and only one person could enter. So it was kind of meh.

I would be up for that. I don't raid really these days but something like this would good if it had some nice rewards.

Bozja/Zadnor duels and deep dungeons.

Are they actually capable of creating challenging solo fights? I mean we have the crit/var dungeons but that's not really even ex level, and the savage version of those needs 4 players(good luck getting 3 others by the way).

Bozja's Duels also had cheese mechanics discovered later on that trivialized them. Once the cheese was discovered, that's all anyone did.

Next blue carnival stage, lets go.

Try out solo Orthos, it's much easier than solo potd/solo hoh, and if you raid you might enjoy it. Bozja duels are not bad and are actually more exciting than raiding because the pressure is all on you. Blue mage is kinda boring.

Lost Ark also copied the idea and has Fatespire. Honestly some of the most fun content in that game if you do it on min ilvl. FF14 would benefit from Mage Tower/Fatespire equivalent but devs are too lazy.

In an ideal world though we'll have like 50 floors of encounters, some puzzles, some bosses, with a bit of story and lore thrown in, and the highest floors would be around 50% harder than Bozja duels. That would honestly be dope. But yeah, I doubt this will ever happen.

Would be nice if we got more Deep Dungeons but more styled for pure solo rogue play, and have them essentially be shorter in time too, then they can also make them far more brutal early on, without feeling like tedious time wasters. Nothing worse than timing out on floor 99 twice because you got an abnormal amount of treasure rooms between you and the exit in a row, or dc'ing because using doga demiclone on a goobue's pull in can dc you, if you're outside a certain range, where the rubber banding simply cuts you off the server, when the goobue then tries to pull you in after its petrify's over.

They've got the framework from other content, Eureka, Bozja, Variant, Deep Dungeons, to easily copy pasta something together. But they simply never do.
On another point, whichever mmorpg can implement Honkai Star Rail's Simulated Universe system into their game, would have a very easy path for replayable content. And FFxiv already got the ingredients present, from past exploration/deep dungeons, the devs just keep sleeping on them.

Hopefully never. There's too much solo content already in this game. If you want a pure solo experience go play a single player game.

have to agree on this. there is no way that they could implement this and have "any class" able to do it. if they did, then the endless round of "its too haaaaaard, nerf it" at which point it loses the entire "ultimate" meaning.

its an mmo and really, have to draw the line at some point, too much solo already and thats increasing.

Just remove the "afk" solocontent like island sanctuaries. The problem is that if you want something to do solo you can only do boring stuff and if you want group stuff there is only savage/ultimate and no midcore content. The solo/group content needs to be balanced better. More midcore content for group, more challenging content for solo.

End game for the most part should be groups only. Solo content is fine, but challenging content should require a group... Otherwise what's the point of playing a multiplayer game?

I think we should go opposite I want alliance raid sized ultimate content

I forgot about blue mage, but there was actually one fight that required me to learn it like I would extreme or savage. There was no getting around the fact that it had a sequence of mechanics and I just had to know they are coming and deal with them and that required practice to get it into muscle memory. Unlike extreme and savage, nobody could carry me through any of it. The "pressure is all on you" was the greatest part about it.

But obviously most of those blue mage fights are easy. If they add more to it then maybe it would become the sort of contender on the list of solo activities like deep dungeons or duels. We are getting some more in one of the next patches, I think, so hopefully they are not a joke.

ESO had (don’t know if they nerfed it or removed it) maelstrom arena, you could do the normal version and the veteran one, it was a lot of fun to do on your own! Hm I start to miss eso but characters look like moist buttoms, pretty nature though…
I guess yes potd and orthos can be difficult content to do on your own

Masked Carnivale is basically ultimate for solo players.

The problem with Deep Dungeons is that you have to grind the lower levels every time before getting to the harder content and if you dc or die you have to start the low level grind all over again. Fighting bosses is also a small part of them.

Variant dungeons are too easy and criterion dungeons and above require a party and they’re pretty much dead content after a few weeks making it hard to find a party.

A series of hardcore solo challenges that you could tackle whenever you want on different jobs would be nice to have. It could even help improve the player base.

Masked Carnival is the closest thing we have to that but it’s for a special job only.

Usually people like to play a game where theres people running about. A game that feels like its lived in, even if they dont like interacting with them much.

Theres a case for having MMOs feel like that.

Dont think we'll ever see something on an Ultimate difficulty, but solo content is as likely as any other content. Every expansion they try to add something new whether folks end up enjoying it or not...

We've HAD solo ultimate clears.

You have to go in with 8, and 7 folks just stay dead the entire time.
