SE, Please give us a reward for reporting RMT spammers:

Right now, you report one, and nothing seems to happen. Their posts continue to appear, so why bother reporting them?

Give us a simple reward for reporting them by making all their posts (past, and future) disappear from chat for the duration of your login session.
As is, I usually get frustrated by them enough to just switch chat over to battle mode, blocking them, and all player text interaction and future reports.

Everyone that you report should be added into your block/blacklist by default, no matter the reason.
FFXIV has some problems with anti stalkers and blocking.

We already get a reward - that one spammer will no longer bother us once enough have reported it.

Giving rewards to players for reporting things like the RMT spambots is only going to cause problems as players start reporting everyone trying to get those rewards.

No, I agree.
The GMs already look into the reports to see if they really are an RMT spammer. It'd be easy to set up an automated thing to at the very least give a commendation to each person who reported it once verified.

When you see those spam lines for hours after your report, that doesnt feel rewarding at all. Even if 'eventualy' they get banned. Because when that happens, the next bot is instantly ready.

A more direct reward motivates people. And even something as simple as removing the messages of such person is already a good reward. The reward then is: his spam is instantly invisible.

This is a great way to get false positives. I don't trust SE's staff to accurately check this.

Sure, don't forget to ask your local police department if you can receive a reward for reporting noise complaints, too.

No, because then they'll be people spam reporting just for the reward. Consider it a form of community service, if you must.

I feel like SE is a bit behind the times on their reporting methods. Blizzard is really good about it, once you report someone it auto-blocks them and they even send you a message letting you know "action was taken" a few days later (they basically banned or did something but can't discuss what they did with you)

If they offered a reward, people would probably start creating dummy spam accounts and then report them for credit.

I've given up on reporting the advertiser bots, though. They'll just create a new one and nothing will change except the number quoted in SE's boasts about how many users they have and how many accounts they've banned.

If I send the police department a noise complaint, they will investigate it and you can visibly see it. Hopefully hear the difference too. If I report a RMT bot, it's like I spent the time talking to a wall. The bot doesn't go away, they keep sending RMT messages and when why the ban wave hits they are immediately replaced and nothing has changed.

If the noise complaint doesn't work, they are other steps which can be taken. When the report RMT fails, which happens 100% of the time, you are left with the only option of hiding from the RMT bots.

their reward gains this is exactly why the suggestion to be rewarded for reporting is absurd.
