Playing ARK survival evolved with my girlfriend as i procrastinate on going to sleep wishing i was playing FF14. So I'm just chillin on the forums as i wait for things to happen in ark. Really just disappointed with the sheer negativity, hate, and attention seeking people are doing here on the general discussions.
Outside of this...
Playing Age of Empires, Battlefield 4, Call of the Wild.
Currently playing the mobile version of League of Legends...I'm not sure why that game, but yeah, that.
Thinking of giving Orthos a real try but Ill have to cook soon so I guess Ill just see how I feel after :3!
Gotta make breakfast, don't wanna make breakfast. Too early, not enough carbs to keep at it. Quick, someone mail me coffee.
Made coffee to start the day. Looked at a buff icon picture of " Kaiten " and shed a singular tear drop for our losses above my Bonsai tree (as is tradition) before heading off to work...
Back from work! I /easternbow my " Kaiten " buff icon picture (obviously). Made a cup of Cappuccino. Today felt like revisiting some saved game files of " Golden Sun " for sweet Nostalgia, only to proceed to give my Golden Sun DS game a spiteful disapproved look that it is nowhere near as good as the 1st installments...(yes... I said it...)
After which! Decided to play some " Advance Wars: Reboot " jamming to Nell's remixed theme while rewatching the movie " Everything everywhere all at once " as I got confused by the movie that lead to me making poor decisions in the Advance Wars game I was playing at the same time and failing a mission on the Expert-Mode giving myself a good ole Facepalm...
Watched a Steven He short on youtube (as is tradition), I finally got around to giving the anime " Gundam Wing " a look at. Recommended to me because I found Gundam 00's 1st season quite interesting... Although I was advised to not watch the movie, which I did? and then I regretted it and was promised that Gundam Wing will not me let down like that Gundam 00 movie did. Got my Miso Soup and Teriyaki Chicken and the play button clicked. Here's to hoping, mhm.
Sims 3! Not Sims 4 because it sucks :)
Playing XIV, oh yea, servers are up.
Stranger of Paradise, now that I can play it on PC without installingthe online equivalent of cancerthe Epic Launcher and giving money to a company I view as poison running in the veins of the gaming industry. Rather glad it's on Steam now.
Mao still in game, doings more gatherings and earnings more tomestones to gets ready for 6.4
Stranger of Paradise. Just started it. Just watched the infamous 'bullshit' cutscene. I..wow, I have a hard time believing that wasn't meant to be purposely cringy. The combat is fun though, the story is intentionally confusing, so we'll see where it goes.
I was asleep for most of it. I managed to do one quick quest in Skyrim and sending some e-mails for work. Riveting stuff.
Luckily for me, there aren't many games on Unreal Engine I like. The only ones that spring to mind are the Borderlands games, the Batman: Arkham series, and the two Darksiders games on it. Other than those, I've mostly stayed away. More the point I'm making is that I try to avoid giving them money if I can, not that I absolutely won't. A fun game is a fun game, although I do absolutely refuse to use the Epic Launcher. If something is exclusive to it, then I'm just not playing it.
I went to bed and then woke up and went to work. For me it's like the game hasn't even been down.
Working on crochet amigurumi patterns for a book I plan to self publish.
It's understandable that devs want to use great engine with amazing documentation for mere 5% of their revenue (assuming game even makes 1M, if not, you don't even need to pay royalties).
On the other side, if devs choose to make their game Epic launcher exclusive to get better split than on Steam, you know their greed overpowered their good intentions. Players do not want to use Epic launcher, that's simple fact. Shitty user experience a spyware allegations aside, it's much more comfy to have everything on your steam account.
But you see much less exclusives nowadays, since most devs realized that better split isn't really better if people won't bother buying it in first place. Some people even resort to pirating only because they despise Epic launcher so much.
In the end, Steam offers so much more discoverability and advertisement, so their split isn't really that bad as some devs claim.
30% lowering if certain milestones are hit vs 12% also 5% royalty fee is waives is waives on using unreal engine. Also the spyware thing is funny at this point as most pcs have some form of google, Facebook and most phone apps have some form of it. People are weird when it comes to launchers I understand but epic isn't terrible now Ubisoft
Epic launcher is terrible since players simply do not want to use it, same for Ubisoft and other launchers, spyware is just a bonus. It's so much more convenient to have everything on steam, but main problem are the exclusives. Nobody is banning devs from releasing both on Steam and Epic, but every one knows that nobody will buy it on epic, so exclusives are only way to redirect some traffic to it. It's simply anti-consumer practice, there are reasons why r/fuckepic exists. As for Ubisoft, they're garbage too but at least they gave up and are crawling back to Steam after few years.
It's unfortunate that terrible company owns actually amazing product, which is Unreal Engine.
Here I found some examples why people hate on Epic:

I heard that that game is supposed to be taken straight and I just can't believe that. I think they're trolling everyone when they say that. It was so off the wall and I loved every minute of that silly game.
To the OP, work. I peek here when I have a program running.
Wait, the game was down??
Well... I was working for most of that time, then I played a League game (because I hate myself) and then napped.
My internet is down so I've been playing Evil Within 2 or watching movies I've forgotten I have saved on one of my many external drives.
Maintenance like this typically takes place while I am at work. Other maintenances such as emergency types will be finished by the time I wake up, and I can let it download/copy while I'm at work. I'm usually only affected by maintenance by having to log out sooner than I would normally like to.
I know many people who use Epic. Most people don't give a damn which launcher as long as they can play their games. As for Ubisoft crawling back to steam, not really. You can buy the game on steam, but you still have to install the Ubisoft launcher for their games, so same BS.
I'm working on my Dancer Mythic weapon, it's such a long grind for a reason because it's the one of the ultimate weapons in FFXI
and no, they don't get useless unlike xiv relics...

But yeah, still unsubbed to XIV atm and have been playing a lot of GW2. Waiting excitedly for Friday so I can poke around in XI for a bit. Keep telling myself I'm going to try and find a nice LS there for returners, but we'll see. :3
