To the Mentor obviously. DUH!
I joke. If healer I give to tank, If tank I give to healer, if DPS I give to other DPS.
It switches if I see someone do "Above and Beyond"
If everyone sucks I just give to no one or to the person with the coolest name...as long as it's not some anime/video persons name. Try to be original people.
No thank you.
Why not? Can we also have that one add-on that blocks rmt and rp venue shouts and tells as well!?
The majority of players are too inexperienced/ignorant to contextualize the information a parser gives them. This is evident if you have played other games with highly accessible meters.
The compromise we have now, with a kind of opportunity barrier and a don't ask don't tell policy, is fine imo. If anything, meters are already too prevalent on this game.
Forget damage meters. I wanna see how many clears you have. :p
since this is all just a dream, lets go chaotic. How about introduce negative commendations so that we can shame on bad play; with players whom acquired enough of them being temporarily barred from group content~!
Imagine caring about commendations in 2022/3
They'd never add damage meters, at this point it'd be almost disrespectful to most players - they've let them get carried for hours and hours, then they're gonna suddenly shove evidence of their own ineptitude in their faces? Rude.
There isn't any point. If you aren't doing enough damage, you will wipe to enrage. If you are and you do mechanics, the boss will die. It's quite simple.
Devil May Cry rankings with unlockable sound packs let's go.
I would gladly trade my allegiance to the Immortal Flames to hear Mommy Merlwyb berate me for my shoddy performance.
WoW has entered the forums.
This is a satire, right?
Also, WoW must be popular to be a punching bag on so many occasions. How commendable.
Agreed, and the biggest thing a lot of players dont understand is that a parser isnt going to help much for the vast majority of XIV's content. Parsing is mostly an FFLogs side game.
XIV is mostly about mechanics, the vast majority of wipes are due to people eating mechanics and most raids in XIV dont have DPS checks or phase skips that are difficult to clear. You can probably count on one hand the number of battles that have tight DPS checks.
i want one added purely to see the chaos that would ensue. it'd be pretty entertaining.
From my experience on then current savage content, mechanics count more in the long run than tight dps checks. You cant clear a dps check without the party doing the dance first and foremost with little to no error. Its a heck a lot harder for groups to fully understand their part in that dance and memorizing mechanics without dying. Once thats figured out, the dps checks usually always clearable.
This is of course saying as the majority rather than the absolute.
I dunno, I have a hot take for you.
I've blind progged numerous MINE Ex and Savage raids. I dont consider myself particularly good. I might go as far as to say that I suck half of the time and am passably decent the other half. In other words, if I can do it, anyone can. People need to stop being babies and just get on with it.
Whoa.
That's almost exactly the same way I decide, Renalt. The only difference is if most people choose to be silent, I give my recommendation to the one person who said hi.
I feel the same way. I despise damage meters and not because they show me my deficiencies.
I appreciate that information because I'm the kind of player who likes to do well. My goal was always to place in the upper 15%.
No, it's because so many people can't interpret the data and use the damage meters solely to castigate others.
I forget comms even exist most of the time, honestly.
If any of you get me in a party, don't comm me. I already have the mount, I don't need the ego-stroking.
The only time I care that I get comms is if everyone give me one and I'm on DPS. Means I was either the best in the group by a huge margin, or they all took pity on me. Either is a win. Lol
No thanks.
Damage/heal meters are toxic.
Quit Overwatch 2 when they added the stats page.
Stats don't ever tell the full story, and it encourages bad play.
They are fine in games where K/D matters.
But damage/heal meters encourage poeple to top the charts rather than actually play properly.
For example, I have seen plenty of healers 'top' the charts in games I play, but they are playing absolutely woefully. Their heals are mostly them opting not to remove themselvs from crap. Same with DPS. High DPS is great, but not if you are putting yourself in the way of death.
Then you have people bitching if you don't do a job (as per the stats), etc.
No to Meters<but yes to changes to the current in-game measures the SSS, or BField. something that at least teaches players something.., though of course actually doing/completing said content does more for that.>
asides that, no to negative comms. but add a new subsection to comms/type of comm that you can select alongside individual comms.., A TeamPlayer/Team cooperation Commendation.<The more there is, the more at the very least you can give a decent gauge of a player being able to do well with the group with no qualms>
but in the end, it's not like we can see each others comms in game with ease. so nonissue
We’re all pressing buttons. What’s the difference?
