Did the dungeons get harder for the event?

Granted, I have only done Ultima Weapon 4 times. No other dungeon.

However, Ultima seems to be hitting much, much harder than normal. I came close to a wipe several times. That never happens. One of its moves used to hit for 1/3rd health, now it is hitting for almost 70%.

Maybe I missed the part where it said the dungeons with the tomes attached would get harder.

I am not the only one that noticed. It's kinda putting me off wanting to do the MSQ roulette, something which I normally run several times per day.

Hitting harder is great with an experienced group. But Ultima is a pretty long fight with most of the deaths (from non-mechanic avoiding newbies) happening at the tail end of the fight. Just before the power boost.

Nothing has changed. Ive done it several times and had zero issues.

Several people in my groups have pointed it out. How Ultima is hitting much harder than before.

I have healed this dungeon dozens and dozens of times. I know exactly how hard he hits and when to drop heals. I have not had this on any other dungeon (non-event ones). I can heal them fine, but something is up with Ultima.

They did not change any difficulty or scaling of their content for this event. Not only is there no reason why they would, but also there is no actual time window when they'd be able to push such a change live (i.e. scheduled maintenance).

If you notice anything regarding your difficulty to clear the content you intend to do and the issue is not you, then it is highly likely that an influx of less-than-average players (lesser gear or general performance in fights) into your parties is the reason.

Other than you or your teammates, nothing changed. And if, it is unintended / a bug.

It's plausible less experienced players are jumping in to MSQ roulette for the event. Lower gear could explain the hitting harder. Just seems...odd.

I genuinely think Yoshi-P should be yoinked out.

The worship of him is irritating. It is like a little cult.

The game can only improve if somebody who can do wrong in the eye's of the community is brought in. When somebody cannot fail due to becoming something akin to a cult leader, the game cannot improve. He can make any decision he wants and the community will lap it up.

The game can only improve without Yoshi-P.

...I am not sure where you get that idea, but Yoshida has done wrongs many times.

The difference is that unlike many other, he admits his wrongs and is generally transparent on those things, as far as professional manners allow him to.

The reason we don't bash him relentlessly for the bads is because he has a general understanding of the community and their reception of things and is not living in lala-land (no pun intended I promise) unlike certain other MMORPG developers / producers. He acknowledges problems and communicates.

I had to use a few succors and lustrates on the fight, but that is more due to people standing in bad and rescue having a CD.

Seems exactly the same as it's been since the rework to me.

A trend i have noticed is more people that think the healer is still mostly obsolete (because of the state before the rework) and will barely use any heals. Which results into the team being on lower health on average. I think that too many people after the rework of the duties barely have played them, and because of that arent aware of the changes. For many people the MSQ roulette still feels a lot like a waste of time. But now for the tomestones its actualy still one of the better ones.

No...? They didn't.

As others have pointed out: Folks could be undergeared intentionally or unintentionally. Or, maybe their gear was broken and they didn't realize it somehow.

I will say, OP's statement about some of 14's community being cult-like with YoshiP is accurate. It's a common complaint on this very message board.

Thankfully it's not the entire community, and YoshiP does get called out on stuff.

I think the moogle event brings out the ppl who do not usually do the content - like Dun scaith. As a Astro main, I enjoy these mistakes by people because I have to actually heal!

I've done numerous moogle event dungeons, pvp etc and I've loved every one of them! xD

I believe Yoshi-P has been mostly MIA for 3 years. He's letting the boat steer itself at this point and it explains why everything's following the status queue of Shadowbringers and is falling harder into the streamlining of everything.
