Frontline Samurai gimmick is dumb and should be removed

A single AOE counts as a hit against it btw. Picture it, you use Salted Earth and lose your BH due to some dumb gimmick.

Stupid. Remove it.

I have been seeing a lot more samurais in frontlines lately and it's been really frustrating. It's like you can't even do anything anymore without fear of getting Kuzushi/LB'd.

I played a game the other day and there was a premade of four samurais just rotating Chiten and you can't even do any AOE attacks.

It's a gimmick that works in Crystalline Conflict, not in Frontlines.

SAM LB has a limited range and it's pretty apparent when they're trying to bait out the LB. Any amount of shielding will also prevent it from killing you.

It's annoying but you can deal with it. You just have to pay attention.

I tried playing GNB in FF's only to find out that I can't never use LB on groups (as I'm supposed to) because there was always a SAM newbie or not ready to take me out of the game instantly without any realistic counter play.

SAM LB should work only on 1 target (the one he is targeting/facing ) and AOE shouldn't trigger the debuff on you)

The Sam lb certainly is stupid, it probably be reworked so it's still can be instant kill in 1v1, but still being able to save against it other than having shield. But it needs a more group oriented usage, other than it being just the debuff meme.

currently the only real way is to play a job which got access to shields, so you can survive their lb, then heal up, and lock the samurai down. Sadly often many are dead to finish them off. Although since starting playing Ninja, it seems possible to kill a Samurai as they do their lb and you do yours on them, it might cancel their lb.
but this isn't really a proper solution at all, "just get a job with shields", or "just don't attack samurai till they've fired their lb off".

Instant death mechanics in general should not exist in a game with tickrates this low, and I agree that SAM LB is an issue in non-CC game modes since you often can't really choose whether or not to use AOE damage - a WAR cannot separate the stun from the damage on their Primal Rend, for example. It isn't without counter-play, but the counter-play is... not very fun.

I just accept that FL is never going to be balanced. It wasn't exactly balanced in Shadowbringers, so why would it be here?

FF its close to be "perfectly" balanced, SE fixed the issue about stacking SMNS/WHMS in big parties and delete entire alliances with LB's.
MCH got his one shot fixed (Still a bit annoying but better than just die out from nowhere at full hp)
MNK's can't two tap you even at max bh anymore but its doing just "ok" in FL'S
Melee classes are more enjoyable in general but the TTK its too long.

The only thing I ask for FF's its the return of SMN "cleaner" skill (don't remember the name) the one that had 120cd but you could delete all the buffs on a target. (DRK/PLD LB'S needs urgently a counter play)

Oh yes. I agree with you. Samurai LB is one of the many many many reasons why Frontlines is ruined for me for new pvp. You can play so well, get battle high V, only for it to be taken away because you do AOE in a huge group, and the samurai just barely managed to survive with their chiten and slice your battle high in half. Biggest bullshit that could happen and very underserved. Almost out of your control really. Samurai really is the meta for troll play. Given how the meta gameplay is just co-ordinated AOE burst on groups, a samurai that survives the burst can get a successful chiten bait in and 100-0 you.

The most frustrating part is that a Samurai's LB still hits people while the user zooms with its corpse.
It is the most "No you didn't win!!" move

lately i find DRKs more annoying honestly

At this point I try to avoid them out of fear as most deaths come from this bs. No instant death should exist.
