Please do not remove or lower Cloud Nine's appearance

I do not know how it is on JP datacenters and how the Cloud Nine map is proving "unpopular" as YoshiP said in the last live letter, but I've been queued up on EU regularly in the past weeks, and CC does NOT happen during volcano map, but DOES spawn during Palaistra or especially Cloud Nine.

So I guess it's stinky volcano map that's unpopular on EU. Do the devs only monitor JP datacenters or what?

I'm not saying this because as a ranged player I like Cloud Nine (I really do), but because volcano is actually NOT popping in the evenings here. Recheck your data, if you care about EU that is?

Cloud nine is a terrible map. The queues on aether go completely silent when the map is in rotation.

What they SHOULD do is make the rotation random when the new map comes out. There will be 4 maps at that point which is enough variety for the maps to be set to random instead of just playing the same damn map for 1.5 hours.

Yeah set times for maps kind of sucks. I would also prefer random and a rotation.

How about no more of this "rotation" thing where people can ask "which map is currently up?" and instead make the map be selected once you are at 10/10 players ready?

That's how the old Feast maps before Crystal Tower used to work, like with Wolves Den Pier and Lichenweed.

C9 is worst map by far so good riddance.

I'd get rid of the volcanic map LONG before I get rid of C9.

Delete C9. Absolute worst map and the deaths you get is completely unjustified. Like imagine playing well and knowing when to retreat in a fight, but the absolute crap camera angles will not show that there was a tornado right behind you, completely knocking you back and causing you to be out of position where the enemies can now finish you off after the help of the tornado. Imagine that. Not only that, you can never predict when the next turbulence will come, so by the time it's coming, you may have used it during a crucial moment of the fight and you just have to prepare to take it without your guard. Sometimes I park myself on a potion so I basically don't take damage, but I take wasting time damage. So it's not your fault when you get screwed over by it. You should never be holding onto your guard for the next turbulence. That is an awful mechanic and purely RNG. You have no control over it.

Tbh I don't even mind the tornados and gust mechanic.

I do mind the objectively awful map layout in regards to using objects / walls for cover, like anyone who has dabbled minimally in map design can tell you this map is awful with a single tight checkpoint in the middle without any flanks.

It is Ranged and WHM heaven, any melee that needs to engage has to go right into your territory and unless they can actually capitalise on their engagement, they have nothing to play around. I mean look at this map objectively and tell me "this is a good map". I can understand the hate on Volcanic Heart, but what Volcanic Heart does right is giving various areas to hide behind, which I believe is crucial in good MMORPG pvp maps, or any good pvp maps period.

Literally just open boxes on open boxes.

So C9 is not okay because it favors ranged, but volcano map is somehow okay even if it favors melees (and some casters that don't give a shit about walls anymore now...)? Have you tried even casting on volcano map? It's hell

As someone who plays almost exclusively BLM and BRD in CC I love the volcano map. LOS works both ways and doesn't favor melee any more than it does ranged. Its much easier to get away when there is a lot of cover around you. An open map is slightly easier on a ranged, but its also way easier to dive on a ranged player out in the open as well with little to no options for escape routes because....its an open area. C9 is straight trash for everyone. Its just slightly less trash if you're ranged and not getting dived on...which only happens in low ranks because people don't know how to focus fire.

Listen C9 needs to stay so I can continue to push people into tornados and follow up with bind. Why would you try to steal my sunshine like this?

Meanwhile, Palaistra offers nothing interesting and was virtually unwinnable on my end for whatever reason. If any map gets canned they should start there.

It's kinda boring, but I like the aesthetics.

Palaistra is the most balanced map.

Yeah, I don't understand why they wouldn't have done this from the start. Letting people "dodge" maps that they consider "bad" is a pretty bad design concept for... well, reasons we're seeing.

The only thing I like about the map is the feathers awarding additional LB meter, definitely beneficial for classes like samurai that has a high LB charge time. Other than that, I dont like the map. There's hardly any cover. If folks decide to target you there's little you can do to defend yourself, especially if you have no mobility.

I never did understood why this map as well as the volcano map was allowed into ranked games in the first place. However, I won't dare ask since there's other things that makes rank games feel like casual.
