Definitely myths of the realms, i want to dive deeper in the plot since the 1st part was more of an introduction to me.
I really want to see Halone's design. And the gears too, since the last set was designed around Nald'thal i wonder on which God it will be based this time.
I just hope that the Deep Dungeon is linked to a more serious and compelling story, with less insufferable cutesy elements like Variant/Criterion was. Part of me wishes that we could go back to Ivalice/Ilsabard for it but with how this expansion has been going I find it impossible to still have such expectations.
Hopefully it launches with 6.3 rather than 6.35. Goodness knows we could use more long-lived content the sooner the better.
Very intrigued by the continuation of the alliance raid, Aglaia was quite close to perfection, so I have high hopes. I wonder if all the gear will be golden again, or whether they'll change it up. Gold was quite prevalent in the boss designs as well, so I wonder if that color theme is going to persist.
Ain't this live letter just part one? All were gonna get is the patch name and a few screenshots. Looking forward to the 24 man though. Legends say that 2 of the twelve asked Middy to guard Silvertear, hopefully we finally find out why.
Variant dungeons are the big tasty one for me, but I don't think there's one teed up for 6.3. Other than that... Rubicante and Cagnazzo, but we probably won't see them this letter.
I remember there was mention that Ishikawa was working on a Mystery Story for 6.3, though, and there's always some appeal to 'but what's in the mystery box!?'
The next batch if we go clockwise on how they're normally shown should be both Earth and Ice. So Nophica, Althyk, Halone, and Menphina. Which could be fairly spicy as Halone and Nophica don't get along. Though the alters look like from left to right are Thunder, Fire Water, Wind, Earth and Ice. Which would make it Thaliak, Nymeia, Lillian, and Oschon. To me getting Oschon feels as it would be too early since just about everyone is so sure totally not a God in disguise Deryk is Oschon. Of course they are trying to occasionally subvert expectations.
It will be interesting to see what the name for the 2nd rung in the Alliance Raid is called. And to see what's supposed to come out when. I do wonder what they'll use as the next PotD/HoH as there isn't anything fairly obvious unlike with how the never ending tower in the Ruby Sea was what everyone guessed it would be.
My money's on the next deep dungeon being on the moon, they have kept hinting at the loporrits working on a treasure vault for adventures and their ability to create and unamke rooms at will, kind of writes itself for a deep dungeon.
I'd kind of like if they sprung something on us that isn't expected, but 6.3 is already seeming rather content heavy given that to our knowledge it already has:
-MSQ + trial
-Variant/criterion dungeon
-Deep dungeon
-Ultimate raid
-Alliance raid
-Relic steps
Maybe BLU will get an update, too...?
I've been hoping they'd do something with that strange city bearing dome-shaped buildings and highways that can be seen in the background of Ultima Thule as it has yet to be associated with any of the races present there.
I know, but given how it got brought up twice in the MSQ with the Loporrits wanting to improve it, I felt there's more to that than "we're just highlighting within the MSQ that there will in fact be more maps" though it could just be a cool little nod like that, this expact actually has lots of cool deep dungeon ideas.
Some kind of storage archive in Labyrinthos.
Something Ktisis Hyperboreia like.
Anythings possible over in Thule.
Could even be some abandoned Garlean lab.
I'm not really excited for anything right now. Alliance raid... not really. I guess it's relic for me.
Tbh I'm more excited about fanfest even though it's still very far away. I want to know the next jobs. Still holding hope that they'll give us chemist one day..... (a shame it won't be healer job since sage already exist)
A thought if we get Nophica glamour for everyone: tree-branch crowns for everyone, not just Twin Adders mages. Maybe even dyeable!
hopefully they nixed that idea of subverting expectations with boss design the director mentioned previously. i want nophica and halone to look as expected.
Which is a bit of a 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' situation, because honestly, the fact that all the Aglaia bosses were nearly exactly what we expected (barring some minor misreadings of Nald'thal) is why I'm not excited about the next alliance raid. I can already imagine all of Halone's fight if she's like we expect, and I don't find her particularly interesting, so why should I care?
Aglaia was well-made in terms of combat design, and In The Balance is good, but given 'good combat design' isn't exactly inherent to the concept and anything they could be making would be about as good, what is there to grab me?
The mystery is in the surrounding plot – whatever is going on with Deryk.
Sometimes it's okay for a battle to be exactly what people are anticipating it to be, and in any case it's not immediately obvious what the fights will be like.
It's not exactly edge-of-my-seat anticipation, but I'm sure it'll be enjoyable when I play it, and I don't feel a need to look forward to it more intently than that.
Which I also don't really care about yet, and I and plenty of others assume will somehow be an avatar of Oschon. I feel like the Myths of the Realm and Pandaemonium raids have different veins of the same problem for me: the first leg failed to give me reason to care about the rest beyond 'it's there and you'll get loot'. With Pandaemonium it was 'I don't know what's going on but none of the individual elements are interesting', and with Myths it's 'I can see exactly where this is going and I don't feel I need to be here to see it'.
I hope the live letters will ease that, because right now it's in that terrible situation of 'the exact last thing on my new patch to-do list', which feels terrible to do to a raid; those are a lot of work for the developers, and doing that early when everyone's fresh is an experience that you don't really get outside of that first day or two (admittedly, in alliance raids I find that experience more tedious than fun). It feels like something's gone wrong when I'm prioritizing, like, special delivery NPCs over it!
I can't say I'm excited by Deryk either, but NieR set the bar for coherent storytelling so low that I'm just glad to be getting a story with a start, middle and (presumable) solid ending with maybe some lore drops along the way.
Also, I didn't like G'raha at this equivalent stage in the Crystal Tower raids, but I liked him by the end. So maybe Deryk just needs some time and development too.
I am NOT looking forward to the '' Nophica's boobs are too small, woke Squeenix, censorship, ahhh!! '' debate when Nophica appears in the alliance raid..
Aglaia was lovely to me. Great music, great atmosphere, great visuals, great gameplay, loved the boss designs, and I found them endearing as characters. Moreover the entire mystery around the Twelve is intriguing. But... the second leg needs to throw something new at us. Like are we really going to do the same song and dance for the next two raids, with a group of gods '' testing '' our prowess and might? And are we really going to pretend like Deryk isn't suspicious until the very end? Is this how it's going to be the rest of the raid? I hope not.
The next leg needs to add something new to the mix to mess with the expected formula of the entire raid. Otherwise it's going to be rather dull regardless of how interesting the individual elements are.
I felt the same way towars Pandaemonium before the second part in 6.2. The first part didn't give us much to look forward to, it was a really light introduction.
I hope myths of the realm will be like this, and be way more packed with storyline development.
Let's not dance around the reveal of the gods purpose, and let us know why we're fighting, or who they are. If they keep all revelations for 6.5 and only makes us fight new gods without telling us more, i would be very unhappy about that.
The lack of concrete information is honestly why I've felt kind of disinterested in the current MSQ.
You just have Golbez repeatedly waxing poetic about his schemes and using vague terms specifically to avoid giving insight into what he's planning, but it's made me...not really care rather then wonder what's gonna happen next.
I agree, they better not make 6.3 only about defeating Rubicante and Cagnazzo, having Golbez only give vague hints of his plans.
I hope they get straight to the point and don't keep things secret until 6.4.
Now that we got most of the exposition about the void we should focus on whatever Golbez want to do.
X.3 is usually a "climax" chapter so even if we're not getting the usual structure of it being the end of an arc, hopefully it still does something exciting.
I'm kind of expecting 6.3 to deal with both of the remaining fiends via the dungeon and trial and 6.4 to close out the void storyline with a trial battle against Golbez, which would leave 6.5 with a mystery trial to lead into 7.x with which I'd find an interesting departure from the usual solo duty finale.
Would be cool if we got to see an unarmored Golbez in his "man in black form" like here:

This has largely been my take too. I liked the 6.2 MSQ if only because the whole Void stuff and Zero were interesting but I'm not really... anticipating anything if that makes sense. Almost everything to do with Golbez is more "Oh, that sounds kinda cool, I guess."
They definitely need some hooks to be established for 6.3 otherwise I feel like things will really drag.
For me the interesting thing about Myths of the Relm is who worships some of the gods as we know four semi active groups that hold one of the twelve as their deity. In the ones we haven't gone over. Yet do we know of any groups that worship Menphina, Althyk or Nymeia? I do fully expect an "You guys must have been going easy on them." type of attitude from Halone since she sort of is this world's Athena if Athena was more thought of a goddess of war than Aires.
I want to say we're supposed to be getting another Ultimate this patch which makes me wonder what Stormblood fight do we get first. As I think we're done with all interesting Heavensward fights to retell. Do we start with Omega and cause a bit of raid PTSD with Lardboard and Starboard? Will they need to remember the stumbling block that was Hello World? Would we have to fight against another Midgardsormr in all of his splendor or will we have him help out? Or do we get a reimaging of the four lords first? One where we didn't stop them from becoming like the fox lady? Which would lead to totally not a Kirin clone breaking out at the end?
Would the dev team even touch Ivilace? Even though I would love a grandeur Tsukiyomi fight I don't know what you would pair her with. Unless you think they would do something based off of Mach. Though they didn't touch on Crystal Tower for the ARR based Ultimates. I won't touch the Ultimates, but I do enjoy them as they do make people need to remember lore bits or how to solve something from the raids that many might have forgotten or didn't know exactly how you solved it cause you just went where you needed to go without much more thought as to why.
It will be interesting if we do somehow wrap up the void with 6.3 as normally that was the ending to the X.0 story where you got your Hero's Gauntlet, The Burn (I know that was 4.4 but The Swallow's Compass was related to the four lords and didn't deal with the rest of the world.) and Sohr Kai. I do think it will sort of be like that as it's the point in time where we should be getting even more hints as to what we will be facing in 7.0. Maybe as I have suggested as to a possible thing happening is near the end of 6.3 we will finally go and check in on the Twins and see how they're doing. Also looking back at the Stormblood patches both 4.3 and 4.2's dungeons were four lords related. So it went 4.1 with a non side story dungeon two dungeons related to the same side story. Both I guess were optional? And then we get back to a non side story dungeon with 4.4. Stormblood was so strange.
