I'm not really sure how or why they would completely redesign the race models because they would have to redesign every piece of gear to match and there has been much reticence on their part for Viera and Hrothgar.
Sorry, had to post it unfinished because of the limit.
All the things I'm proposing here would basically not change the base model at all! The scales are handled entirely by the texture, whereas the tails are separate models altogether (that we can already swap between). Character height just scales 100% of the model up or down with no other fine-tuning... which becomes a problem on especially short or tall races because their proportions end up looking wrong on the opposite extreme (see people's complaints about Elezen's tiny heads)
unfortunately(not saying it's bad to spark creativity), they're unlikely to change now.
i can imagine a future FF MMO having variable races.< dare I personally hope. maybe even. Half-Races in a FUTURE FF MMO like a M-Aura + FRoe = Tall Female Roe body with Aura Features. or switch lala for those who want imp aesthetic>
but at most they'll unpair the horns.
[or maybe they'll expand options,
which is something we may have never seen or thought before. make everything fit the new bodies, and then add more faces and options]
but I have no real horse in any races. since I'm fine with my face.[which only gains bonuses from being in the same boat as sadu, but otherwise I'd care less]
tldr:
They highly unlikely won't.<it'll sure throw off many>
they could unpair faces.[not too ecstatic, but not against]
or they might add more customizations which I hope they add no matter what. which would make character creation even larger. without taxing changes much
EDIT:
just noticed you added more to your post so I'll add.
that Those scale options will be nice if they work like the facial options where you can add or remove.
though lore wise those with less scales tend to lean more half-race. not saying a full-blooded au ra can't have less or more scales.[we already have less or more scales on our faces]
and I guess it all fits a theme.
they didn't really go demonic. and didn't go full into Draconic.
so hence we get called lizards.[internally I'll always be of A brood]
so I doubt[not saying that they won't change at all], just doubt they'll change course of a races theme at this stage.
but I like your ideas.
Again, not asking them to change anything retroactively (aside from female Au Ra height, I guess), but to add more options on top of the existing onesor lack thereof
While I love both my character's face and horns together, I also love to see the horns separated from the face. I def feel like it would make them more unique and gives freedom to other people to choose a favourite face with favourite horns over being forced to choose a face type and not caring for either the face or horns. I'd like to see more horn and tail options too, hopefully it wouldn't be that much of a hassle to add because the latter feels extremely limited as there's only one tail shape with a unique tip. Also would like a slider that adds more scales to the body similar to how chiseling muscles work but that probably sounds too ambitious there.
EDIT: I posted this while you were editing this and a number of posts were added, will read up.
Ya, I also agree with bigger tails (esp for the males) and making female Au Ra bigger as long as the smallest Au Ra can keep her size because I love the aesthetic of "small girl, big axe".
[QUOTE=Tsiron;6086213]3) For the love of god let female Au Ra be taller
only if i can keep my current height i like my tiny dragon girl (i have her height set to 0 she is so kawaii) also they better not changed face 3 its the best
<edited my previous comment, since I replied before your edit>
just letting know.
even thought ideas in the same vein, but different outcomes.
I can imagine them adding more faces and horns. at most.
and unparing horns and faces at minimum. if they don't add more options.
edit:
I'm a Min-height Au Ra Main.
so I understand the want/appeal of/for a Tall Womanly Au Ra<maybe Ala succubus or imposing Draco/scaled warrior> hence my half race suggestion for a Future FFMMO.
but of course if they do decide to dive into the Female Au Ra body "scale" it'll definitely open the door for new asks and wants.<which isn't a bad thing>
but the theme will come into question.
I don't really know what's wrong with female aura being short? maybe they could add in more general height Varity for all races would be a better solution, I don't think going back and changing something like height on a character makes sense, I know if they suddenly made my miqo randomly a lot taller it would kinda annoy me a bit. I think instead they could just add the option to have more taller auras (and other races, by increasing the height range).
The extra scales dont look that good to me if I have to be honest, not an improvement, of course it would be nice to have more options instead of looking like we are all twins, at least more faces, and of course allow us to make taller au ra women because to me that looks quite wrong compared to au ra men, but different cultures I guess.
The thing that makes me sad is how much better the au ra concept art looked in comparison to what we got. They looked fierce and interesting, but these are like elongated lalas with thorny tails.
Short female Au Ra bother me because the males aren't, and that's an MMO (but not just) character design trope that I'm sick to death of, personally. But, like I said, I'm not saying they should make them taller across the board at this point, merely bump up their upper height limit to something more reasonable in relation to male Au Ra, for those people (like me) who want that
Stretching short creates that pesky Uncanny Valley effect :3
I'm not expecting a rise in the number of customisable features beyond what the existing template could handle, and changes beyond the face don't seem possible because that would require multiple versions of gear pieces.
That said, the system they've rigged up for changing Hrothgar hairstyles – apparently switching out entire faces in the back end that are identical except for the hair – suggests that they should be able to use that same system to add one more feature edit option for other races. Au Ra horns seem like a perfect candidate.
Let's raise the upper limit on Lala height while we're at it. Right up to the Roe limit.
Gods, it's scary even imagining it. ;)
<starts imagining how a lala who had its aether count enhanced in a certain part of the story would compare In size to normal people> Attack on LaLa.
in all seriousness though.
I hope they at least start showing Concepts whenever they speak of the future again. with at least new faces, and horns.
Yeah but It's race/gender differences, good example is the female buns being taller then the males which adds more of difference between races, I don't think it's a bad thing that female auras are a lot shorter then males in general, But I'm always for more options like female auras being taller or even having more shorter male auras ect, I don't mind the trope of "women short" if in the same game they show tall women like buns and stuff, the diversity really builds up, But y'know I wouldn't be opposed to taller female auras if it doesn't come at the cost of changing smaller female aura designs
My problem is when existing stuff like
I have definitely thought similar. The tails for male au ra just don't look very good, in my opinion. I have also thought they would have benefited from tails that more fit their overall design, or something longer as shown, conceptually.
Personally, the things that I don't really like about male au ra in particular are their bodyshape (specifically their midsection), animations, and general tail shape/length (as said above).
Agreed. Their midsection reminds me of Gumby's:

I also think that the horns make them too top-heavy, possibly because of the big shoulders.
Controversial(?) opinion but I actually like the shape male Au Ra are lol
Not really controversial. you're fine.
everyone just has their expectations or hopes.
personally I don't have much issue with their shape.
but when I see an npc wearing tides gear, or 2b legs[depending on the way they glamoured] it throws me out of my body like a certain scientist.
