How to make old savage raid relevant again. Plus add new end game content.

1. Every old turn 4 savage raid will have a new mount or special glamour coffer added with a 50% chance drop rate.

2. To earn this new coffer, you are required to do turn 1-3 of each old savage tier again while item level sync (not level sync). This allows you to do the fight again with all max level ability while retaining the fight difficulty. Since you are sync, people will have to actually learn the fight rather than just face roll through the content. Level sync is not recommended because losing a lot of your ability really sucks and makes the fight less fun. A prime example of this is doing uWu ultimate (which sync you to lvl 70) as a pld and not having a gap closer.

3. You earn a key or currency through each turn 1-3 of each savage raid tier. Preferably currency otherwise there will be so much inventory bloat considering there are 14 savage raid tier with a total of 56 turn starting from a realm reborn to present raid content. Having all 3 keys will allow you to queue into the 4th turn. Player will require multiple keys if they wish to attempt turn 4 multiple times. Keys are forfeit even if you are not able to beat turn 4 or if you run out of instance time.

4. Defeating turn 4 while sync will allow one party member to win the new special coffer, however every party member will earn a new type of token. This new type of token will be used for a super special mount. Maybe hydaelyn or zodiark mount, whatever crazy thing people can think of. Or even the giant head of end walker final boss.

5. The super special mount will require 10-99 token of each savage turn 4 raid tier. Remember there are 14 raid tiers at the moment. This way even if you did not win the special coffer or if a run did not drop anything, people will not feel like their time was wasted because they are still earning toward the special mount. This super special mount is meant to be a long grind that would take months or even years depend on the set token required.

The reason for this thread is because I feel like there is a lack of end game content. After your weekly savage lockout, there is literally nothing to do except maybe ultimate fight. There are so many awesome old savage raids that newer players have had never experienced. Almost every mmo I ever play have had this issue. Every time a new expansion comes out, all the old content just gets left behind. There is just so much good old content just sitting there. It's such a wasted opportunity. If this ever get implemented, it will give people way more option on what to do end game as well as increase the longevity of the game.

Or we can just leave old content alone and let people run it synced or unsynced if they want. It's surprising just how many groups I see throughout the day wanting to run Extremes and old raids synced, even minimum item level and no echo. The challenge is apparently reward enough.

Old savage fights are relevant just because of the glamor potential. I also don't really like when the only motivation for doing content comes down to some grindy reward, I find it a lot more fun to do content that is innately enjoyable.

I'm not saying to get rid of the old loot. I wanted this system as an addon. You can still do it unsync and get the old loot for glamor if you wanted to.

People will just unsync for it. They will not make it require you to sync for it, because it would pressure veteran players who have already done the content to go back and do it for the mount and it will frustrate them to be dragged back into old raids they already cleared at the time.

What they would do instead is the Faux Hollows or Wondrous Tails system, where you can do the old raids for a currency that you exchange for the mounts, but those mounts can also be sold on the market board, so if a veteran does not want to do the raids again they can just buy it.

I think they should extend the Faux Hollows system to doing old extreme and savage content minimum item level and silence echo or extend the Wondrous Tails system in a similar way, because that can currently be unsynced.

When you level up, your stats get weaker because they divide by a larger number. So if you use an item level from Heavensward at level 90, your stats are less effective than they would be at level 60. This could be made up for by the increased potency of level 90 abilities, but it might not be exact.

Although your stats get weaker as you level, the amount of stat growth on your gear is meant to make up for it, which doesn't happen if you use old gear.

They already made old savage raids relevant. It's called Blue Mage.

Maybe someday we can have unreal version of the Alex raids :p

unless they choose to recycle the armor models happened with pvp and tome gear its only a matter of time tbh

Blue mage, glamour, newer players wanting to get that green check mark next to them, raid roulette(I don't know if it does savage though).

Think the idea itself is great for end game reasons especially you finish your reclears early in the week and really just interest in raiding. Gives raiders something to do other then waiting in the wind.

I think this is probably the best way to go about it. Old raids are still relevant in a lot of ways but for having doing them synced I would prefer them extending Faux Hollows to accommodate for them like you said.

Gotta add them to Unreal mode for sure. That's the best way to bring back the OG aspect of difficulty and mechanics to them. Just expand not replace, the current faux hollows, with a special unreal raid category.

It works perfectly that way.

just give it a content like faux hollows or wondrous tails that requires you to do it synced, hooray.
