Just some quick napkin maths. Pali got 460 potency a minute. Much of it under buffs. Warrior got around 200 effective potency a minute, only 70 of which r under buffs (3 IR fell cleaves).
Id simply like to point out that the Warrior Upheaval oGCD is now absolutely pathetic. GBR one does like twice as much. Pali one does way more now. DRK has too many other oGCDs to care.
But here, have that juicy extra 10 potency! Guess now i know how MCHs feel.
This just feels like a 1 cent tip. Thanks i guess? Im not here to cry how much more Pali got. Hydaelin knows they deserved it, and hosestly still should be getting some more. I just want to point out how little Warrior got when it really really needs more love too.
Okay Warrior has good dmg during burst windows, i can undestand them not overbuffing it even though i bet DRK GBR just laugh at it. But y not buff all of the 123 by a decent amount?

If they really want WAR to be burst centric then they should put a damage buff on Inner release,
slowly padding potency isn't gonna do anything it would also be a nice buff to Upheval and Onslaught since they get no benefit from IR anymore. -

Honestly these patch notes are a complete joke in general. Sure the buffs on warrior make 0 sense and I'm honestly questioning whether or not whoever looked over them and gave their okay to that has any clue on how these jobs even work. But have you seen the buffs for redmage? Or those for Reaper? Machinist maybe? No?
Instead of fixing the actual problem they just reduced the boss' HP, what an absolute joke. -

The buffs won't really change anything. Might pad the numbers just a smidge, but the gap between WAR and DRK/GNB will remain fairly significant. It's like handing a flashlight to a blind dude.

Holmgang is completely useless because you need large burst heals at the very end of it to survive the last tick of the bleeds. Equilibrium for most of the fights isn't up often enough to act as reliable mitigation for the bleed and you need to waste at least 1 GCD on Nascent for its 20% mit so there goes some of the healing. Speaking of Nascent, because of the lack of mits you are required to have it available for every buster in order to make the bleed somewhat tolerable on your healers. I really enjoy the part of WAR that lets you help your healers with spot heals, I find that fun as someone who has been a Healer main most of the time they played this game.Quote:

uh point in me saying this, while I don't have PLD all the way up and havent used it yet in this savage teir, I do know it has more % mitigations than WAR does and that makes its ability to handle bleeds a bit better. While also sporting pretty similar self healing. -

The difference in these potency buffs is however questionable at best as paladin and warrior weren't that far apart when it comes to dps, they were both just far behind drk and gnb.Quote:

With the band aid about potencies PLD will recieve, on top of how convinient having a PLD for mitigation is this tier, WAR definitly is behind imo.
Holmgang is not even an argument possible to say that war is good, since bosses either do a share tb, or split tb : not worth to bother using invuln on these, as it is way better to mitigate them -

Yes, because TBs are random ( either split or share ), you'd better just use regular cd rotation for everything, and save your invuln in case something goes wrong.
Also, if you take the share buster alone, the dot is twice as strong so, it's even less worth imo.
This tier, when a share buster happens, if anything, the ot should throw his cd on the mt to compensate the fact that he's taking autos -

Instead of trying to put potency buffs on the 1-2-3 rotations, they should have placed them on the Warrior's burst, Fellcleave and Primal Rend, the very same explanation they used for buffing most of PLD's Req combo, is also fitting for Warrior's burst. And the very reason they fell off from 6.2 as well. Seems rather obvious the Dev handling Tanks is a bit biased. They accept the fact its become a raid burst phase theme, then deny the obvious potency buff to the skills that's most affected to create a centric burst, and then only add a mere 10 potency to Fellcleave, like some sort of joke. And just combine Upheaval n Orogeny already, So Warriors can get a proper useful oGCD attack ability between all this.
I'm sort of glad I'm Omni tank but whenever my first and favorite one get dissed, I can't help but feel a bit jaded.
Time to make a slow gcd mega Direct Hit/Crit PLD meld I guess, even though my current 2.45 setup feels ungodly slow compared to pre 6.2's 2.4, but need all the Direct Hit we can get now, don't we? -

I think in last tier i checked on logs what warrior needs to be DRK level: basically a 2nd charge of Primal rend on an oGCD, aka 700 extra potency a minute that is crit/DR, aka 700 potency buff to IR, Inner Chaos and Primal Rend combined. Yeah. Kind of a jaw dropper when u quanitify the gap like that. Boy, that measly 200 potency is gonna go a long long way, eh?Quote:
