Island Sanctuary mechanics i hope to see implemented in the future!

Hello Adventurers, It's been about 3 weeks since Island Sanctuary was officially added into the game and most of us are already Rank 10 or about to be, with all that said, here's a list of feature suggestions I hope are implemented in some kind of way in the near future for Island Sanctuary:

• Island Dungeon- Think The Mines or Skull Cavern from Stardew Valley. You could queue solo, with friends or NPC Party Members.

• NPC Village- Invite NPC's to the Island, Get Friendship Levels, Give/Receive Gifts, Receive Island Quests, Decorate their cabins, Add them as Island Dungeon Party Members and maybe some Island Romance?.

• Friend Tasks- Friends could come over to your island and do tasks for island currency and EXP. They could Water your crops, Feed Pasture Animals (with a special feed I would call 'visitor feed' that won't much affect the happiness of the animals but maybe give a leavings bonus or happiness bonus.), and Gather. They could keep a percent of what they gathered in the island and the rest could go to the island owner. Maybe even a list of people that can visit your island when your not there.

• Weather Forecast Mammet & Mail Man Mammet- Self explanatory, a mammet worker that gives you weather updates and a mammet worker that handles your mainland mail for you, making mail accessible to and from the island.

• Island Hunts & Island Fates- They work like the over world Hunts. They can be soloed or with a group of friends. These could be used as Husbandry Drops maybe? Making meat available as a crafting item.

• ISLAND HOUSING & FURNASHING- Yes, I know we have the Cozy Cabin but honestly it looks and feels as more of a Visitor Center than anything else. A real house with an outside perimeter like regular housing would be *chef's kiss*, also being able to use all of the housing items already available in-game inside and outside. It would also be nice to decorate the Cozy Cabin area with furniture like how you can put furniture outside in Animal Crossing New Horizons.

• Help Wanted Board & Deposit Box- You can post on this board that you need a certain quantity of an item and your friends or fc/party members can fill the request for island currency. The island currency would be calculated by the quantity of items wanted and rarity of the items. The game would give a base reward suggestion, the poster can edit to add more but cannot go below the calculated reward suggestion, after posting on the board the reward amount agreed will be held by a mammet managing the board that way you wont accidentally spend the reward money. There would also be a time limit up to 24hrs to complete the request after accepting one. After you complete a request you use the deposit box to submit/pick up the items and your reward. A post cannot be canceled if it get's picked up by someone, the post will be up for 7 days before it's canceled automatically from the board.

Yeah, the weather thing is cool. The rest is not really lining up with what this whole Island is about.

The combat stuff doesn't belong for the simple fact it's supposed to be a place to actually chill out. There's already plenty of combat content out there. Variant dungeon will be soloable, btw
Friend activities.. why would anyone do any of this if they have their own island to maintain? This is a solo mini game anyway.
The Housing suggestion probably won't happen because they still want you to actually leave and play the game. The island is very much static in its decoration, so letting us freely place stuff is probably not going to happen.

I would like the island to be less static in its decor, frankly. It doesn't even need to be 'freely placeable' -- that's almost certainly non-viable technically, given how little state the Sanctuary seems to store (and the fact that storing that little state is probably why they can give one to every player) -- but it does store some, functionally 'here is a slot for Thing, what is Thing'. E.g., "path" is "stone", "landmark 3" is "lighthouse", and so on. I would like to see more options in that customization functionality. Not just different appearances or more landmarks, but maybe a few more -- for lack of a better term -- 'slots' to put things into. The ability to put something small up at that lovely little spring hidden halfway up the mountain, or on some of the other little ledges. A little shrine, a picnic area, whatever.

And the reason I would like this is I would really, really love it if SQEX would stop periodically giving out housing decorations (frequently outdoor ones, which cannot be used in apartments) for seasonal events. I have a house, yes, but having events so often give out housing items just strikes me as needless salt in a wound for folks who don't have a house.

Having seasonal events give, instead, customization options for Island Sanctuary -- landmarks, appearances for little things along the pathway, etc. -- would make them a lot more useful to more people, since everyone can have an Island Sanctuary if they want.

The trouble with that is people miss events all the time. If we're going to see more options like the otter fountain, they need to remain reasonably accessible.

I mean, historically, anything from any past seasonal event becomes available in the Mog Station cash shop one year later when the event rolls around again. And while it pains me to suggest "hey, look, put it in the cash shop" as a solution, it does work better than many options; you have the option to get it for free in-game when that event is going on, and if you want to get it years down the line at least you just buy it outright.

(As opposed to lootboxes, or gacha game pull mechanics, where maybe you get the polar bear mount from a past Starlight Celebration you actually wanted, or maybe you get 47 water crystals, or a single normal-quality Grade 4 Alkahest of Dexterity.)

The ability to still remove an animal when a caretaker is active on it (when you catch a new one). If it had any items stored in it, those items are then forcefully given to the player. And the new animal then gets the caretaking turned off so the player has to reactivate it.

The ability to set a queue for the farmer to change seed type upon completion of the current batch.

Adding a secondary xp bar for unlocking cosmetics (secondary to prevent it overlapping with the current levels, whenever they will add new features. Otherwise grinding from 10 to 20 will be a pain to new players)

A structure for trading resources. Allowing you to exchance some resources for a diffirent type. By making these take a lot of time the gains should remain small enough, but at least give a way to get rid of the 500 rocks without exchanging them for currency.

Just give something that promotes a higher level of exploration. We don't -- Or at least I don't think -- it should be a matter of trying to substitute housing in any shape or form. -- I feel like this can or would detract from the potential that Island Sanctuary has, just out of trying to fill that housing need. -- Not that I don't see it as an important or essential feature for people, I just think it should be done separately from Island Sanctuary, personally.

That being said, to promote higher levels of exploration I would incorporate treasure hunting, and sightseeing entries, allowing people to search for places like Lost Ruins which either open up randomly or after completing treasure hunts.

Now I like to tout how awesome Island Sanctuary is -- Because I think it is -- But I also think it has a lot to improve, and in terms of actual content probably has the most potential of any content they've developed previously. Especially if they can adequately gauge playstyles better -- To put it into perspective, a lot of people use housing for an RP factor and pretty much promotes it, and other elements like cafes, for example. With the use of tags, I think this could easily be expanded to Island Sanctuary if they could make better use of landmarks, or have the pre-set options be more expansive. -- In this regard, they could also have open access and premade islands that people can access openly regardless of Friend/FC/Party privacy requirements.

I'm down for everything but the last point. They already stated this would not be instanced housing or anything remotely like instanced housing. Plus we should have servers in place that are able to handle the amount of congestion that would cause if they did choose to make it similar to housing as we know it, otherwise good luck getting into your island. If you weren't already aware, that's why people couldn't get into their FC houses for the first week or two, the IS servers share the same ones as housing and apartments.

IS needs more things to do that encourages people to come and go rather than become another spot to afk in a house and prevent people from even accessing it. My opinion will change if they get new servers that are strictly for IS.

~ Yes Plz! i was also thinking about having different types of fertilizer like in Stardew Valley. I'm not sure if I mentioned this in one of my points but maybe when you have a friend come over and water your crops they cut the growth time by a bit.
