Private House Relocation - Help! I won but it won't let me relocate!

I own a small private house in Goblet, and put in a bid on a small private house in Shirogane. Ward 20. When I put in the bid I did not see any option for a special relocation bid as shown in the official guide here https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes.../housing_land/

It just took my bid.

It now says I have won, but when I accept and confirm the purchase I get the following error: "Unable to complete transaction. You cannot acquire any more deeds."

I have double-checked my storeroom status, and I have the green ticks, and the number of items is below the 400 indoor & 40 outdoor thresholds.

If you are moving from small to small the limit in the storage is smaller, you do not have 400 indoor. All items in storage and PLACED will be put into the storage on relocation. So if you have over the 200 items then you cannot move. You need to remove furniture same goes for your garden!

So in short, you cannot have more than 200 items in storage or placed within the house and you cannot have more than 20 placed/stored in the garden.

Hi! Thanks for answering! I removed the extra items so it is now under 200 total indoor and under 20 outdoor but it still doesn't work. T^T

Sadly I am not sure what would stop it then if you have the two green ticks, I have not relocated a plot for quite some time u.u my memory on any other details is gone sadly. Hopefully someone else has a clue. I would also put in a ticket to the GM support asap. Maybe they can get back to you in time.

Do you have an alt that owns a house?

Expanding what Reinha says above;

You are allowed to purchase one FC and one personal on the account per server. When you purchase an FC, then your entire account is tainted with a flag that records this, and that flag is there as long as the purchasing character remains in the FC.

If you know which alt that was, them leaving the FC they bought should be enough for you to relocate. If not, sadly you need to go through one by one until you find who it was.

(The only other reason is your alt has a personal grandfathered house too from ye olde days when it was possible. In that case you are pretty much SOL and the alt needs to relinquish the house)

No. This is my only private house in this world, as per the rules.

Hi there! I've now tried removing all my alts from FCs...still getting the same error.

To clarify: I have 5 characters on this world in total, 4 were in one FC and 1 in another. Both FCs have housing. I do not have any grandfathered housing, I've not been playing that long! I own one private house on my main character (Teegan) and just won the plot in Shirogane as this same character and wanted to relocate. It's a small to a small.

Yes, the same character that owns the house won the bid.

My only thought at this point is empty it entirely out of sheer hope and try again. I hope you have a ticket open w GM's. Also might be worth making a post on reddit, mebbe redditors have an idea!

It really is beyond strange! I contacted the GMs and they sent me here and to the bug report forms, which state that they do not give individual responses so that probably leaves me without help. T^T I will try emptying...I would even consider relinquishing except there's no guarantee it would even work!

I think personal relocation had been a problem when the lottery was first released as well. I'll try going through some of those old threads to see if I can find some information.

This is not correct. The limit is the same regardless of plot size as the Storeroom is temporarily increased to 400 items indoor/40 outdoor for any relocation.

It is impossible for someone who owns a small to exceed the 400 item limit since they can only have 200/20 placed and 200/20 in Storeroom prior to a relocation. The only players who should have problems are those owning a medium or large.

DO NOT relinquish. The system should be expecting a relocation.

Unfortunately I didn't find anything helpful. I could find the posts where players said they were unable to relocate but no later response on whether their issue was resolved.

I see you did open a bug report so that's one step out of the way.

Until you get a response on that, all we can do is try to narrow things down.

Is the character that owns the house that you're trying to relocate still in a FC? If so, remove them from the FC. I know you said you did that with your alts but I'm not certain you did it with the house owner. It's better to make sure that the only house on that world your characters on that world have access to is the one you're trying to relocate.

With that in mind, are any of your characters on that world tenants in houses owned by other players? It's a bit of a stretch but there's always the chance that's causing some sort of error.

Otherwise, I'm at a loss. We know it's okay to purchase multiple personal houses as long as each house is on a different world so what you have on other worlds shouldn't have any impact. I can only hope they get back to you quickly about your bug report.

Thanks for this. I had removed my house owner from the FC too, so no FC membership now. I also left the house where I was a tenant (and same for the alts). So I have only the private house and apartment on this character, and apartment on one alt. No other housing at all. Still the same error.

Only thing I can think is maybe because my current private house is in what is now an FC ward it bugged out? Either way, I've not broken any of the rules and as far as I can see I should have been able to purchase. Very confused and upset, I hope they do help me.

Make sure the aetheryte crystal that let's you teleport to your Goblet house is not in the yard somewhere.

You can relocate with that (along with the Chocobo Stable) placed. The game will automatically place those items in specific spots after relocation.

Can't move them to inventory because that destroys the item.

Are you selecting "Private Residence Relocation (plot X, Ward X, zone)"?

Not simply Private individual.

I'm not even getting those options. No choice given, just:
On winning, given the option to "Finalize your purchase and claim your plot of land?" and selected "Yes"
Next window says "Confirm the purchase of this private plot?" and selected "Yes".
"Unable to complete transaction. You cannot acquire any more deeds."

So the bug is causing it to not give me to option to relocate.

You are transferring a private plot to a private plot correct cause you can't do private to FC or FC to private? I believe you said you were but just checking.

Yes, it is a private plot to private plot. I'm really not doing anything weird! My only guess is maybe the bug has been caused by my private house being in what is NOW an FC ward, because I got it before the changes to the housing system. The estate is still listed as private estate. So perhaps it doesn't detect that it's a private to private and then doesn't give me the relocation option.

I have now made a video of the bug in action, and you can see that I am doing private to private (but one is in an FC ward), that storage is fine etc etc. I even removed the aetheryte as one reply suggested!

Well, here goes...I've chased up the GMs again to see if a fix is going to happen. Otherwise, I might have to gamble on relinquishing my current plot and then try to buy. Wish me luck!

I'd really think hard about relinquishing your present plot. I understand that you really, really want to relocate but if it doesn't work you'll have no house at all and a load of furniture to store. It's also possible you might run into difficulties when you try and buy again.

I did relinquish a personal house recently, having run into an unexpected feature of the new system where one of my characters is flagged because he bought the FC house, so none of my alts can bid on a FC house while he is in that FC. Relinquishing got me nowhere, because his personal house wasn't the issue. I just read the error message saying I owned too many houses and assumed it was.
Last lottery, I got lucky and got him another personal, but storing all his furniture until that happened was a pain and I really missed my house.

I presume you were bidding on an FC house and that's when you got the error? At the bidding point, not the purchase point? Just to see how similar the bug is. I've had people mention this one, which is why I removed all my characters from their FCs to try and fix it, is that what worked for you?

Yeah, I'm really scared to do it but storing furniture is not too much of a problem as my FC mates let me stash it all in the FC house storage which had plenty of space. That and my apartment storage. I've actually emptied the house pre-emptively so that if I go for it, I'm ready at the last minute. I don't mind too much as I want to re-do my interior anyway.

The main thing is I'll be sad to end up with no private plot if it fails. :( The problem is...if I don't try, I'll always wonder if it would have worked! XD

Yeah, I totally understand what you are saying because that's exactly how I felt. That plot would have been our FC forever home. However, once that little personal house in the LB was gone and I had nothing to show for it, I felt rather differently!

And to confirm, yes, the error message came up for me at the bidding point and it's been confirmed it is not a bug. Removing that character from the FC allowed me to put in bids on my qualifying alts.

Probably not a likely situation but the likeness of winning on Moogle is low I'd imagine. Moving to one of the new servers and you'll get a house guaranteed (99% at least). But depends if you can split from social circle etc ofc.

Ah, that character was in a different FC that already had a house, perhaps? Yeah, that's just one of the rules. However, I have heard of the flag thing bugging out so even when the characters meet the rules they can't bid.

Sadly mine is a bit different - the bid was accepted as normal; it's the relocation system that has a bug.

Yeah, Moogle is super crowded, which is why I'm so eager to take the plot. After this result period, the odds of any private plots being available are very low, odds of winning said plot even more so. :( I was 1 bid in 15 this time, and that's only going to get worse.

I can't move this character to another world, as my friends and bonded are all settled here with private houses and FCs etc, and a wider circle of friends I am reluctant to leave. As much as I love housing, the social circle here comes first for me. Which is on me, I guess. Comes at a cost. :)

That's understandable. My Old FC had broken apart and people I knew and played with had quit or gone awol on discord and whatnot so, it wasn't hard to take the plunge and transfer to Sagittarius and make my own FC and whatnot. It's ironic to see how empty the plots are though. Like my FC house is the only house right now in Ishgard lol.

Maybe will populate more soon, or most people just want specific plots in Mist and Shirogane.

I waited until the last minute as I was really hoping the devs would come up with an answer. The GMs were in touch during the last hour but said they couldn't help, that they couldn't promise any compensation if I relinquished, and that it might not work. And that I had to wait for the devs.

No way I could just let it lapse without trying; I would've always wondered if it would work....and it did! I relinquished my plot in Goblet and was then able to buy the plot in Shirogane as normal. Phew!

Obviously, I've lost out on a few thousand gil but it was absolutely worth it!

I have recorded the whole thing (including showing the bug again and that all my alts have no property) and will upload it asap in case it helps others.
