If you are given the choice to live in eorzea

Do you accept or not?

If you do, you can never return to the real world.
As a game character you will be immortal because you won't age, but there won't be any other players, just npc's. If you die in the game it will be a real death.

If you accept, what's the first thing you'll do?

I'd probably go home and eat all kinds of food

Clarification required:

At what point in the story would we drop in? Even if we aren't the WoL, is it during a particular expansion? Post End-Walker? What's happening in the world would greatly influence the answers you receive I think.

If I'm the WoL, sure.

If I'm just my regular self, hell no. I'm not getting torn to pieces by a giant ant on my way to shovel dirt for 2 gil an hour.

You will become your character so you will be teleported to his last position but you will not be the main character, the main character will be the guy in the trailer the story will be at the point where you are and it will advance by itself

Would I accept? Absolutely. The first thing I'd do, however, would probably be picking a fight with a random monster and quickly remember that this is no longer just a game, so my stay would probably be relatively short-lived. There are worse ways to go. :p

So even if I'm not the WoL, I'm still my character? Well, fuck it, I would still take it. I've already got an apartment, so I've got lodgings, plenty of clothes, a comfy amount of gil for food and other essentials.. Doesn't sound like a bad deal even if you can't teleport everywhere or hold a bunch of jobs/classes due to your limited amount of anima.

edit: oh nvm, you get to keep your character's powers and such. Ok, that's even better so I'd still take it!

As for the first thing I'd do.. I'd probably find a fellow Lala and fist bump them.

As you said in the OP, you're not in my world. I'd free her indentured servants and let them have their way with her, whatever that would entail. If she'd be alive afterwards, i'd make sure that wouldn't last long.

Is Rowena that bad? I didn't even think she had servants lol, just workers, they don't seem that mad about working under her. Like sure, she's entirely business oriented and thinks about profits more than people, but hey, someone's got to in Eorzea I guess to make the economy go around.

Nice! I would accept it. With millions on my bank and my own house, I would spent most time doing nothing. Maybe traveling to my favorite places like Mt Gulg or the Beehive ^^. Maybe trying out different things, which werent shown or explained in the game.

And after a while, when things getting boring, I would travel to the first shard, gather as much light as I can and went back to the source as a new lightwarden. Lets see how the WoL/Scions will handle that again.

I had no idea Rowena hate was this strong haha. Doesn't she employ older orphans and give them homes/steady income, aswell as let the younger ones remain in her employ while doing things they enjoy?

Maybe, but as a god killing walking weapon, i can do what i want. Making Rowena dead and throwing Ul'dah to the wolves is something i'd very much like to do. Whether Ul'dah can pick itself up and if the for now free slaves are going to just end in the same situation afterwards isn't my business.

Definitely. With the way the real world is right now, Eorzea would be a much better place to live I've finished Endwalker so it's the safest it's ever been.

Rowena is actually a walking parody of something that happened in real life. For relevance: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Company_scrip

Workers were more or less owned by the Company, just like Rowena's workers are. They are indebted and contracted to her. They are paid only in scrip which can only be used in her store fronts. Often these workers IRL (and just like poor Gerolt) only get deeper in debt no matter how much they work, thus keeping them under the company's (or Rowena's) thumb. Meanwhile, she rakes in all of the actual monetary profit of their work and they don't really see any of it, same as the IRL companies did.

There is a pretty famous song about all this by the name "Sixteen Tons." It's pretty good.

If I'm my post-Endwalker WoL, I guess I'll go practice my Red Mage skills while I wait for [REDACTED For 6.X story spoilers] to happen.

I'd convince my best friend Zenos to join me on my adventures. He and I should kill enemies together for fun! We don't even need the Scions, we're powerful enough. We'd go on a murderous rampage. c:

I much prefer my vegetables in my plate rather than attacking me when I leave home...and the insects are giant (eww) and there are no toilets in Eorzea.

To answer the OP's question: If it is me being whisked away to Eorzea, where I become my character and there's no Tactics Advance shenanigans, then I would choose yes. ლ(*꒪ヮ꒪*)ლ

Boy, you really did misplace your marbles. I would be very shocked if Rowena and "monetarists" don't have a PMC like system that protects them. They would paint you as the Griffon 2.0 and the WoL would kill you for some glamour pieces, lol.

As for the question, I probably would take the plunge if I was the WoL and I would think about it if I wasn't. I would be an NPC loitering around Limsa lower decks and point and laugh at gaudy glamours. That sounds like the life!

I wish for something like Log Horizon (my fav anime ♥), and i would say a milion times yes! Can you imagine doing nothing, get tons of money, using MAGIC, be what you want, do what you want, in a FANTASY game??? Like, why is it even an option, who wants to live in this shitty ass world anyway

I'd decline.

There's a bunch of other canon settings that I'd readily agree to being thrown into though I'm quite happy to live where I live in the real world. Eorzea simply doesn't compare.

Are the NPCs actual real people now or just androids with an icon over their head? If real then:

Beachside house + servants, millions of gil, Echo + physical & mystical super powers + useful crafting skills, acclaim, super good looking and immortal? Plus I get to ditch all the world ending, soul cracking responsibilities of the WoL? Hell yes!!

Worst case scenario if I really need to I could become a side member of the Scions and become by FAR the most useful Trust member the actual WoL chooses to go on adventures.

The npc will be like real people, they will have a will but will be mortal unlike you.
You will be immortal as long as we don't kill you, same for your servants / mounts / pets who will be able to follow you in your adventures and will be loyal to you.

You will also be able to do things that are not in the game like storing items or weapons in your house by buying a chest.
You'll easily know what's in your inventory just by thinking about it and can pull out any item just by wishing it and it will appear in your hand
It will also be possible to build a huge castle, there will be no housing limit.

All your skills will also be usable just by thinking about it and it will be something innate for you if you are for example a level 90 white mage to use a higher healing magic.

you will be able to do all the dungeons or challenges or raids but all the content will be unsync there will be no more sync system same for the fates

You can level up to level 90 max

the only black point is that being immortal maybe it will be super fun to be in eorzea but I imagine after 100 years or 1000 years or 10 000 years or more you will be in a deep boredom and will end up doing a 90 raid in solo to finish it :(

If the game has an update, new content or a new expansion you will receive a letter from the dev team that you can read to keep you informed of the new content
If the game is dead and there is no content left then the world of eorzea will stay the same forever.

Well, I'd try to live inside one of the starting cities only as a fisher or culinarian xD (or both).
My main char is now at Sharlayan, so this will be the place to stay, despite all things. If they don't allow me to stay there, then Limsa would be my home 'til sea swallows all u.u

This is a tough choice..

On one side my character already have a comfy apartment, rich in gils and resources in general, and pretty steady daily income. On this front, I’d gladly live with these well established prospect!
But on the other side, I loved my WoL. I don’t want to become him. I want to bring happiness to his life. I want to stand proud by his side till death do us part :( I can’t do all of that if I took over him entirely.

Maybe I’ll just admire him from this side of the monitor..! :o
