Please Fix Paladin Cheese in Frontlines Onsal Hakair Map

Consistently see paladins in groups of two using cover on each other and maybe guard / limit break when they run up to an objective. The paladin under cover cannot be damaged, so the capturing absolutely CANNOT BE STOPPED unless the team somehow takes out one paladin before he/she gets near the objective, or a monk, reaper, dancer uses limit break when the two paladins are already covering for one another. The paladins can just use cover again soon afterwards and try again. This is broken, makes the game not fun and infuriating to play against. PLEASE fix it

Yes it's a well-known issue there is literally a full thread on it a few posts below lol

I guess having your own RPR/PLD group for tagging the points would be counter until they fix this. You can tag the point normally ahead of them and use RPR LB if they started before you and start capping.

Just remove PLD

Why not just knock / draw the PLD away?

because it's supposed to be PvP, not a trash-quest "click on things to get xp"
because only some jobs can do something against it
and because those who want to play these jobs want to play these jobs, and not be the anti-exploit pawn

It's supposed to involve some level of strategy, not be an easy xp event. The solution is right there, but we're seeing people say jUsT rEmOvE PlD :rolleyes:

You can't knock back or draw away the paladin if they have guard up, which they absolutely will be doing because that's how they give the person they're using guardian on immunity to CC. Yes, you can break guard with certain limit breaks, but that requires that you're on the right class for it at the time and have your limit break up. Even if you're lucky enough to be on the right class with your limit break available, it still requires two full GCD to break guard and then move the paladin away from the capper, which leaves virtually no time to do anything to interrupt the capper given that capping takes 5 seconds. That's not to say it's impossible to counter, I've done it before with help, it's just extremely difficult to pull off since you have to react immediately, in many cases before they even start capping.

All SE needs to do is modify how guardian works. If they don't want to modify guardian to not also confer the CC immunity of guard, which arguably it shouldn't because nowhere in the tooltip does it say it will work this way, then a reasonable alternative would be to enhance guard breaking abilities to also break immunity from guardian.

It's not broken. Just play on the right classes, have your LBs ready and all the required spells off cooldown. /sarcasm

It's on the accepted bug list, so it will be addressed eventually. Hopefully 6.2.

Honestly I don't think the Cover should block channels period, including elixir. PLD is eating well enough without this.

I asked a simple question. I reviewed the skill and understood it to work like cover, where the PLD needs to stay within 10y. It's right there in the description "Can only be executed when other member is close than 10 yalms." Monk has a knockback for 15, btw. If I was the asshole expert you think I'm trying to be, I would have just straight up told you to do it that way. I don't play these jobs in PvP so I aksed a simple question because I don't pretend to have all the answers.

So, here's a smart idea. Assume less. Chill out.

That would potentially mean they can't attack anyone. It's better just to be ready to move the PLD out of the way. It does break if you move out of the 10y range.

Just be a monk, lol. Any other classes can get boned. Do you know how stupid this sounds lol. PLD can literally cap the point for free as it stands right now if you don't have that monk!

Btw, monk cannot move them. They can't be knockbacked. Just try it on a monk. Don't quote me on it but I think maybe there is a coding issue somewhere.

IIRC someone posted here that on JP forum, it moved to "Work as Intended"...

Make crowd control land and interrupt things. Making someone immortal is stupid. Even the tooltip says 'transfers all damage'. Not a very thought-out mechanic.

With "interact with something" i meant interact with objects. As in capture any points. Or the state gets turned off if interacted with the capture point.

I agree it's a really silly oversight that definately easnt intentional. Nothing like seeing a cluster of paladins on a S node, running in to scatter shot to see.... nothing happen

So easy to fix, just make it so you cannot interact with objectives when under that effect, including standing in a capture circle like in borderland ruins imho, and it should affect any and all invulnerability skills now or ever added.

They did this in WoW too by making it so for example, you drop the flag if you bubble as a paladin, or it prevents you from capturing points in arathi basin.

Just reduce Guardian's tether range so using grips like Blota or Salted Earth are viable counter strats.

They did something similar for Hand of Protection's interaction with capturing points.


Hotfix (2015-01-07): Hand of Protection should now interrupt players that are in the process of capturing a point in the Battlegrounds.

Now that you mentioned it.. in Borderland ruin if i go as a "hidden ninja" i don't count as a player to capture the base.. so it could work similar to that
