I had no issues last night before the servers went down.
Tried to log in this morning to get the patch before I head to work and got this error.

Exact same issue here. The launcher won't check the game version, even after reinstall.
Up to yesterday, the game worked correctly
Any chance you're running a 32bit Windows 7 or lesser, or 32 bit Mac OS?

Yes, exact same error code! 64-bit Win 7. Worked fine yesterday.
It's goes straight to launcher 22.05.03.0000.0001 (7522205) without the usual patch download and attempting to log in produces [30410][30607][10009][19900][12030]. I thought it was just me! A whole evening wasted trying to troubleshoot it... :(

i am using windows 7 with 64-bit with unticking any TLS from network options except 1.2
none of the usual suggestions fixed it
what caused this issue can we get an ETA please ?

Unable to complete the version check.
Game worked like a charm yesterday.
Running Win 7 64-bit.
All the previous ideas on fixing the issue didn't work.
Even tried to reinstall, but same error when trying to download the game files.
First launch after patch, same problem. Tried to redownload, but since it cant check version it will not start downloading the game content. Now i have only client on my PC.

their twitter has no reports on such issue but then again neither did the"node" issue we reported from bulgaria/macedonia etc have one
because the usual response when you try to enter your password during a maitenance window is a greyed out play button
with the text"game is currently under maitenance"
on internet options only ticked TLS i have is 1.2 because you cant use 1.0 and 1.1 or you get blocked and cant play("security reasons")
do we have people here that can actually log in
Exact same issue, exact same Operating System. I'm willing to bet the patch has compatibility issues or is using a framework that cannot be used with Windows 7.
Same story when I first started trying to get online.
I unfortunately discovered that issue with win7 after uninstalling the game thinking my files had gotten corrupted. So I couldn't get the game reinstalled either.

Got me past this issue but gave me an generic error message in Japanese, no error codes or anything. Just saying game failed so I'm in the process of redownloading again as it seems that messed up the first time.
I have exactly the same thing happening. Win7 64 bit. Thought it was my anti virus stopping it. So I uninstalled my Anti-virus. No luck. I get a slightly different code:

I've done every technique under the sun. Even tried the repair in the launcher, but it won't get passed the failed version check.
Was anyone else actively logged in (like you afk'd) when they shut down the servers? My character was afk'd and logged in when the servers shut down for the maintenance. I didn't check it until today.
my fix is that I change to new layout or old layout
I was on old, so I change to new and it work.
I have done this many times in the pass if the launcher is not working, switch to the other layout first before seeking DirectX support or looking up any other errors (even if it says its a DirectX error).

The wording might be the key. Only the Mac part has the 32-bit addendum, meaning Windows 7 no longer runs on both 32 and 64 bit in my interpretation.
Looks like it worked. It forced client to update, but i unninstaled the game so i need to download it again. 1.6MB/s approximately 22 hours.
i did that after they released the post about windows 7 and mac 32-bit system and still have it
and i dont want to edit the registry its not a good idea

Searching about this problem on a web browser I found some post on Reddit from 4 years ago about a very similar error (that one was error [30410] [30607] [10009] [19900] [12175] while this one is [30410][30607][10009][19900][12030], directing people to a thread in this forums with a fix through tweaking the registry (titled "Unable to complete Version Check" caused by microsoft easy fix 51044 if you want to try it).
I personally prefer to wait for a less "scary" way to fix this than tinker with the registry
Is it possible to upgrade to Windows 10? It might fix the error. (I know that some people have rather old devices though and I'm also a firm believer of keeping what's still working, but it might be the end for FFXIV on those devices...)

You must have Windows update KB3140245 installed.
Then you must edit the registry tree as defined in the documentation
If for some reason you do not want to read or do not understand the documentation details about editing the registry tree.
They made an "Easy Fix" program that will do the edits for you.

There are a majority of technical and personal reasons people have for not switching to Windows 10. A solid one of which is how Microsoft collects your usage of your OS, including the contents of your hard drive that you access, to build an advertising profile that Microsoft then sells as "anonymous information" to advertisers. This is one of the reasons why, unlike previous versions of Windows, the Windows 10 upgrade is free.
@Wushu if that is the case for Windows 10 what about Windows 11
but i doubt the support is suddenly gone for w7 users as the days before the new patch i had no issues to log in
Yup, it fixed mine too. Now onward to 318 minutes downloading 79Gb of glorious Hildibrand and not the old poligonal grapes ( /sad_face)
Thanks, this worked for me and now I have to wait several hours because I tried to reinstall the game beforehand :D
- Copy paste "Windows update KB3140245" into Google and click the first link.
- Click the download button for the Windows 7 x64 update: If you try to download it if you've already installed it it will say so.
- Download the "Easy Fix" program and let it run.
- FFXIV should work now.

and what about those who swap from windows 7 to windows 11
will it be fixed for them? i am going to buy one soon-ish and wanted to ask

Can confirm this happened to me on Windows 7 64bit as well. There is a fix in another thread on the forum and I can confirm it worked for me.

Very annoying, I know it's to be expected on Windows 7 that a lot of new games won't be supported but when a game you've been playing happily and running fine for ages is suddenly unplayable it's a bit of a kick in the teeth. Apparently we "should have known cuz they told you"... well I didn't and I've been playing for over a year and yes I do look into update and changes to the game, not in massive depth but I generally know upcoming content and patch dates so I'm not playing totally blind.
Should update to a new windows but the idea still makes me feel a bit sick tbh. 7 just works and isn't plagued by all the shady stuff you find in newer windows.
Oh and yes I also tried everything before coming on here, including uninstalling xD

Also, the game can break on Win7 with any update. That W7 isn't supported any longer means they won't test new updates on W7. That way bugs on W7 can easily sneak in without anyone noticing beforehand.
