For winning participants who already received a gil refund due to the “Winning Lottery Number of 0” error

Once lottery data has been restored, some participants may discover that they had, in fact, won the lottery, despite already receiving a refund due to the lottery number error. Even if your deposit was refunded due to this system error, your ability to finalize the purchase of a won plot will remain unaffected.
　
In patch 6.2 we plan to implement an NPC by which you may voluntarily return the deposit you were accidentally refunded.
As these housing lottery issues have been significant and caused great stress and frustration in many players, we have no intention of performing a data rollback to forcibly rescind any refunded gil. We will make an announcement regarding the voluntary return of housing deposits once the NPC in question is ready to be implemented.

So we should all go get our refunds now in case we won? Then we can have both house and money?

I doubt that people affected by the bug get a free house if that happens there while be a whole other shitstorm on the rise.

SE is amazing for doing this specially when they know the game is over saturated with gil. Great job, I expected nothing less of SE than to do more unfair BS and continue to make piss poor decisions.

Yeah, unfortunately, it reads like free house. I fear that no one will make use of the NPC to just... pour Gil into nothingness when there isn't any advantage for them.

Between this and the fact that the FC wards won't open up for private in the next cycle, I see the next discussion coming...

They should instead add an npc where winners of a house can reclaim their gil to make it fair. Not the other way around no one will dump their gil on a npc for nothing in return, they just take the free house.

SE was presented with a fun issue though: do we roll back characters a whole month who took the gil back because they weren't sure what to do when they got a 0 Wins bug? You'd have some really pissed off players having an entire month rolled back and that crapstorm would be worse than "well, if you've already done so, we're not going to make you pay it back but you can if you want and voluntarily give the gil up in 6.2." and them keeping their gil if they so wish.

I think the solution would be to unclaim all "0 bug" houses and make people bid on them again.
Took me 3 seconds to come up with that.

I think that there are ways of taking a specific amount of Gil from a character without rolling them back fully. The one-time item restoration can add an item back to your inventory (or even give you a different item when you messed up token purchases) without changing anything else.

I guess MMO's are just cursed, people who quit WoW due to Blizzards incompetence and out of touch decisions now get the same thing here.

I like how people are in this thread whining and moaning over people effected by the 0'd out housing because they had to pay for a house, meanwhile those effected haven't gotten theirs. Yet somehow this puts this out like they were effected in any way other than actually having to pay. They couldn't find a way to FORCE people to pay for the plot. Instead of that winner being screwed out AGAIN, they are giving them the plot and giving them a chance later to VOLUNTARILY pay it back. IT's really not that big of a deal considering this F up has lasted so long. Ya'll are wild

If nothing else, would there not be third party companies who could be trusted and hired to dig through a set of data in order to work out who owes what?

I really, really do not want this situation being exploited down the road as an excuse to implement some sort of 'monthly rent' system for player houses because there's too much excess gil present in the economy...

But since that's only restoration and not deducting for someone who, say, accidentally threw away their Dalamud Horn or something and can't reclaim it - it's not the other way around, and trying to figure that out would take longer than necessary when they already have the fix ready to go.

They could also have made the NPC in 6.2 make you pay it by 6.25 or something, I'm well aware. However, I feel that this is more of an apology to the winning bidders on a house who would have won the house but then got beat out by a 0 who have now had to wait a full month for this issue to be fixed, even though they were the recorded winners. I know what will come next, so before the cry of "well I paid in full for my house": so did I. I didn't have to wait a month for it because of a bug in the system when I was the winner of the house with those added frustrations, though, and this is honestly the least the devs can do to apologize beyond fixing the issue. I'm sure there will be people who will want to deduct the amount from their gil to feel "honest" or whatever, and there will be plenty who don't because they feel it's the least SE can do for their frustration. Neither are wrong in their feelings on the matter tbh.

Are we to blame for the bug? Is it fair we payed 4m, 20m and 50m for our houses while some people get theirs for free because the game fked up? I am by no means an expert in tech stuff, but I think it comes down to filter out all the plots that got the 0, compare with the data of who the real winner was, then look through the data and see who got their Gil refunded and take it back from those people... so... maybe this detective work can be outsourced? But just some musings, I'm not a tech person.

You paid what you paid and you got your hosue right away. While others got 0'd out and took their gil thinking they lost when they didn't. That's not on them either. You've been decorating and using your house this entire time while others didn't know if they needted to make that gil up or not. This doesn't involve you at this point as you are using what you won. Let the 0'd out people get what is coming to them and move on

Shoot, if SE is giving out free houses. Can i get a refund for mine i purchased in the way back days before the housing scarcity? I could use the 50 mil + 25 mil + 25 mil + 25 mil + 25 mil + 5 mil.

Outsourcing won't happen. Period. They will keep it all IN HOUSE. This isn't EA. And it's not a single player game. More goes into it. This also is an issue because some people who were 0'd out CANNOT claim money back on the plot. How do you go about getting money from somebody who flat out could not get money back and says no winner was on th eplot still? You gonna go about giving them money back just to take it away again?

I was really hoping for you all to get a solution quick, but now I feel like we all got screwed here. I didn't get 50m gil from nowhere, like a lot of people do here. But I know no one will agree on anything regarding this matter.

They had the chance to make this somehow better, and they now ruined it completely.

Kind of irrelevant though since they already made it plain that houses that made it past the bug are staying in the hands of those winners. It's not fair to them at the same time to lose a house that would be theirs either way.

Also, you really need to calm down. It's a fake house in a video game. Go direct that anger towards something that actually matters. This isn't healthy and frankly concerning.

The irony of saying someone else needs attention with how far you're going to get some.

Lets hope the zero restore goes well. The issue of returning gil if you won is on the individual and will reflect upon them. The team is expecting them to pay but they don't appear to be willing to force the issue. The payment npc won't be here until 6.2 and I'd love to know how many actually pay for the house. I suspect the number of those who accepted refunds and actually won are pretty small but be that as it may they need to get this done.

The bottom line is that given the npc isn't ready and won't be for awhile it's pretty unreasonable for them to hold up lottery results for everyone until it is.

If we're going to claim I myself need to calm down, then those wilding out over people upset that a certain amount of people will be given a house need to as well. It works both ways. Since I'm the sole participant on that plot it would be a free house, basically.. I dunno, does not sit well with me the way they implemented this.

It's not a claim, it's a fact that you should.

Also, you're literally attacking people. Regardless of forum post or not, you're stepping out of line with the words you're using to label people and saying they're "not worth the time."

Again, it's a fake house in a video game and you're using it as an opportunity to take out whatever issues you have on strangers. Maybe close the forum and go work that out.

I'm the only FC in ward 16 sub on Sophia. I hope they open those houses for private purchases soon as well although it doesn't appear that is going to happen this round as there is no mention of it. Even large plots there have no bids.

Basically, yeah. And the entire system was implemented poorly . The older system, while a hassle, worked much better. No matter how many people will disagree with that statement. The new system allowed for loopholes to open up with multi housing issues and the like. At least prior those people all had to work around the clock to do it. As well as the new system allowing for the purchase and sale of plots. Waiting 30 days to be given FC lead after buying an FC with a house is nothing. Those same sellers have already bought like 6-7 wards I think on some servers, all of which consisted of Medium and Large plots to resell later.
