Might be time to separate the console and PC players

Would be a good way to help calm this issue down if the console players did not have to fear being 'cheated' by PC players.

I’m actually genuinely curious to how that effect queue times and the like.

I hope they don't do that. Some people in my FC play on console and it would hurt really bad if that happened.

Seeing debuff timers on the party bar isn’t cheating. Parsing isn’t cheating. Console players benefit from them in the realm that they matter, even if they can’t use them on their own. People need to learn nuance, I swear.

See this is gonna be like the Inquisitor plot line. Gonna be revealed at the end that you are actually the creator of a bunch of add ons.

Not going to happen, Not needed, and why?

So people can feel the same?, connection? Mods?

Not worth nor reasonable, if they did that the game would die faster then it is already.

No one is being cheated by players using add-ons, fullstop. THis is a silly line of discussion to even consider.

time to cut support for PC players.

Yeah every PC player is using a QoL plugin that shows the debuffs timer on the party list, thats totally cheating, like, they could solo the full raid just using that, they will have more damage than i on the totally oficial damage ranking that the game have, thats not a fair competition, we really should just get rid of crossplay and separate tons of friends due that unfair advantage every PC player have

ABSOLUTELY NOT. Anyone who agrees with this is an idiot, and while I try to avoid such words on the forums in order to be civil, I will not tolerate this idea in the least bit.

Splitting the playerbase will ruin queues, separate me from my friends, split apart my free company, and all the little communities I'm apart of. This idea is an absolute flop, and thankfully will never be implemented because of the way the servers work, and how SE has been working toward making all worlds visit-able as much as possible, but for mogs sake please no one ever suggest this, and if any GMs/Staff are reading this, please don't ever consider this. Why would u split the community, break up friend groups because of a few people being butt hurt. SE has made their stance clear, they will do what they need to so console don't feel jilted. This affects literally nobody but streamers. Get over it smh.

I disagree. My FC have played together very well on PC and PS since the game started. There's nothing at all wrong with the game and no divide between PC and console players aside from a segment of the PC crowd wanting to use addons.

No, it will not calm anything down, there are still people regardless of which platform you play this game on will consider certain things cheating. Separating console players and PC players is quite frankly the most ludicrous solution to this issue.

Simply put they either need to fully commit to their terms of service or consider rewording what they consider or deem to be an inappropriate third-party application because apparently this isn't clear enough already.

I don't think SE can afford it.

And be unable to play alongside my partner? A hard pass from me. It’d be more of a detriment than some quick fix for current issues.

What an alarming amount of people don't realize is that the same addons used today have been used for a long time, and everyone was happily playing together. We knew it, Square knew it, and those who did not and act like this is news take to the forum to ask for increasingly ridiculous changes. Really, easiest way to solve this is to forget about it and adpot the old don't ask don't tell mindset.

A): SE develop official in-game alternatives to add-ons so console players can enjoy it too
B): Official support of add-ons wherein you can download them inside the game via in-game means available for console players

Separating a playerbase was, and will always be a bad decision with far better alternatives

Fine by me. Lot of games give you that option. But they are mostly competitive games tbf

Agreed! Why Its so complex and dificult play by the rules!? Separation of plataform not going to happen!! Honestly, i dont care how famous or millionaire a youtuber is! And this platform separation sounds too mutch wow philosophy for me! This is FF14! community its meant to be togheder!

Though, what if I own both versions, PC and ps5, and play same character on both platforms? To which "side" I belong to?

What is the divide exactly?
Cheating is literally immoral and the obvious "bad side" of things. Why would anyone be arguing for cheating the game and your fellow players?

What the heck is up with so many (not all) pc players nowadays hating on console players? Especially if the game is cross-platform. I can’t stand this elitism. You people literally get whatever you want and usually before us. (Talking in general here, not just FFXIV.)

I don’t get how losing out on addons is such a big deal anyway. You still get to play the game. Do you really need that much handholding and shiny graphics? I agree that we need more QoL and accessibility options, and I’m sure the devs will get to it eventually. But suggesting to straight up divide the population of players so that you can get some extra numbers on the screen is absolutely ludicrous.
