The argument to just use EC or YouTube previews could apply to the paid items as well. Both are equally unhelpful for confirming that a piece will work on my character as part of a specific glamour concept.
And I might not be spending money for a dungeon piece, but I am potentially spending quite a lot of time to acquire it. To have it not even work for what I want at the end of all the effort is several layers of disappointing.
Also if "loading the full catalogue of gear" would be an obstacle, then they could break it up in some way. But it's also possible that loading it in isolation might be more about getting the specific interface working with your character and automatically previewing the full set on your character while not overwriting the standard Try On saved outfit.
They've made the interface now, which was surely the bulk of the work. Adding more gear to the list could be very minimal effort for a big player benefit. For me it would be 90% of the appeal of a glamour log without needing to store the actual items, which apparently was their sticking point. I'd be able to browse dungeon sets like I now can browse the marketboard, and discover pieces that I want to spend time working towards.
