Apologies if this has been brought up before but I cannot find any other relevant threads.
Seen a few FC and personal plots not in Emperyum become vacant but when I click on the placard to see if it can be bought or bid on it has the above message. The character in question meets all the requirements and has the gil. I've seen a few other folks standing around one in a particularly prime location.
Is this a bug or are all plots now on the same lottery schedule?

All Plots on Lottery. If demolished during a Lotto Period it will be available on the next one. If you see a plot you can bid on that was demolished before the recent Patch went live.

Going forward, any plot vacated will be in the following lottery when it starts (presumably 4 days after reset tomorrow when this lottery ends).
Think about it this way. Saturday at 11am EST, all these plots will have a winner. That winner has until Wednesday at 11am to claim the plot. When they do claim it, if they were relocating, that old plot will be vacated but not be available to put in a lottery ticket yet. When 11am Wednesday rolls around, it will be added to the lotto with 5 days to bid. Also, keep in mind that the way the text on the lottery system reads, if a private house is vacated in wards 1-18, it becomes FC only. And if an FC vacates a plot in 19-24, it becomes private buyer only.
And that's how it will be unless SE changes the rules. -

I can understand why they made the choice they did on allowing the full lottery period for each plot, but the part that is frustrating is that the houses you can buy are indistinguishable from the ones you can't yet buy. It would be good if the plots that you could not buy had a different icon (and especially not the gavel used for purchasable plots), as well as a different text color on the price in the ward review UI.

All in all the system is once again against players. The losers are once again forced to wait possibly months/years for a chance at a house. The fact instanced Housing isn't a thing boggles the mind, they already proved they can do it with apartments. I have a feeling the islands thing won't even be close to what they promised, heck that could be the perfect time to implement instanced Housing. Using gil upgrades to make your plot bigger and bigger as you save. But at this point I'm going to stop getting my hopes up.

Sucks too.. A plot I had on my old server is now "Available" on my current one but it of course reads "Not available to Free Companies" "Available to private buyers" Lists price, then the message underneath "Unavailable to purchase" Very vexing. I liked the location I had on my old server, but want that plot back... and No I'm not going to say what plot it is. :P Not that my current location is bad or anything, I just liked my other locations position.

Well, you also cannot buy anything right now until after May 16th, when they fix the lottery zero bug issue. Once that gets fixed, they wil not only open up the lottery, but they have the ability to change personal/FC housing placement in wards. They indicated they can change this and most likely will after the bug gets fixed at some point.

While this is speculative I believe that they are trying to allow as many FC's that want a guild house to get one. Some will only have the resources to bid on one at a time so it's going to take multiple lotteries. Another supporting point is that not everybody wants to live in Ishgard. Not that I looked that hard but I don't think any houses outside of Ishgard could be bid on in the first round so there's going to be at least one more.Quote:

Also, idealy those who exploit having many FCs to take up an entire ward do get their houses removed from them whenever they need to free up a ward on those servers (idealy delayed so the wards can be freed up when players realy start to need it, instead of now which then just causes them to repeat it the next cycle because of a lack of competition)
