Cure I and Benefic I should just naturally upgrade

Honestly, there's no reason anymore for either of them to exist by themselves at this point. Low level is even easier and forgiving, since they buffed base defenses of tanks in early game. And at later points, you get so many more tools, they're both just redundant by then. For small heals, they can both just use Regen and Aspected Benefic, if they really feel like the natural HP regen isn't enough.


CNJ / WHM :

• Add Cure Mastery at Lv. 30 : Upgrades Cure I to Cure II
• Reduce Cure II MP cost from 1000 to 700
• Remove Freecure from traits, since Cure I would upgrade
• Change the level requirement for Regen from 35 to 30

AST :

• Add Benefic Mastery at Lv. 30 : Upgrades Benefic I to Benefic II
• Remove Enhanced Benefic from traits, since Benefic I would upgrade
• Change the level requirement for Aspected Benefic from 34 to 30

We've asked for this for years; they don't listen or care. Both the regens or even esuna could be merged into the base heals as people have suggested as well. No healers should be using their base heals past level 50. Ideally past level 30.

To reiterate, any suggestion we've made over the years has been completely and totally ignored. They have some kind of stubborn complex about Healers specifically, even though absolutely no one on the dev team actually plays them. They refuse to listen to the community, and outright tell us to go away (i.e. play another role) or que for Ultimate for satisfaction.

The Healer section of the forums is dead weight, and honestly, serves zero purpose.

No, I don't think that's a good idea. Esuna is specifically a super fast cast. In content like TEA, it's very important to have that fast cast for that one debuff...forgot the name. Just as an example.

Cure/Physick/Benefict/Diagnosis already have quicker cast times. No reason they couldn't be shaved off by another 0.25-0.5 seconds and also provide either status cleanse or regen. They are still a GCD cast, thus will still be a loss to use and heal for less than their "upgraded" counterparts. Well, unless regen gets added to them.

Actually with the way white mage works

I rather them just turn cure 1 and cure 2, medica into their respective lily parts

So it be like this

cure 2 > afflatus solace

Medica > afflatus rapture

Free cure trait? Reworked into "free cast" meaning white mage have a chance to proc free cast from ANY spell which cause the next spell to cost no MP

The whole reason for this is to promote the white mage to legit focus on building towards its misery spell and be proactive on its healing and dealing damage

Basically it be the one true GCD king of healers but rewards itself with a blood nuke

Sarixis already made this point with the lilies in his Healer Suggestion videos (it's posted on this forum). Lily abilities replace Cure 2 and Medica prospectively when a lily is in bloom and lilies are gained immediately when you unlock WHM at level 30.

Cure is more MP efficient than Cure II, and casts faster than Cure II. There are still reasons to use it, even if only as a quick means to prevent doom on a party member or top up a DPS who misjudged an AoE. You have to consider content below cap as well, and having those extra tools can mean the difference between surviving an encounter or an unfortunate demise.

I think throughout the entirety of Shadowbringers, I pressed Benefic 1 and Cure 1 less than a combined total of 10 times. Every time it was because I had just revived, had no other healing cooldowns, no way to quickly recover mana and the tank was near death. That situation is incredibly rare and far more useful skills have been removed already.

The exception to this is low level content where I legitimately have no other healing options.

Merging Esuna and Cure 1 into a single button makes the most sense for me.

Cure 1 still had a very small amount of value in it's faster cast, I've bailed a couple of people out with it when I've had no lilies or tetra on hand before now. So simply dropping it's potency onto Esuna as an upgrade gets the thumbs up from me.

Even if cure 1 gets insta casting, its rarely going to be useful because healing over time is most of the time already enough and over time does significantly more healing in comparison. Esuna on that might not have that many uses in a good team, but the moments its useful, its very useful, it has a reason to exist. Adding healing to that is something i would discourage as it generaly needs to be balanced out again with a slower cast (in the end nerfing it).

The main reason why merging cure 1 and 2 is a problem is because of mana costs and the potency diffirence being too large. Without that, it would have been a very easy fix.

The other issue is, you want to keep it GCD related (because thats how those healers work), while for most effective healing, you often want oGCD. Which again conflicts. The way to counter that would be if the GCD usage can offset the usage by boosting DPS at a diffirent moment with similar potencies.

I think that cure 1 on that would be better off getting some sort of combo potential with stone/glare in which the heal might be weaker, but not come at a large cost of dps. For example casting cure 1 causes the next stone cast to do 175% of the damage (causing a 12.5% loss of damage compared to not healing at all but also a 40% reduction in healing compared to cure 2, while that one would cause 50% damage loss). This would keep cure 1 relevant, and in many cases actualy even prefered. And best of all, it preserves the GCD aspect

Spells aren't supposed to go away.
It's the game that is supposed to give us reasons to use them.

Benefic I agree with, I haven't even had Benefic I on my AST hotbars for the past few years, it's completely useless.

Cure I however could have some use, as considering the number of skills WHM has, it can stand to keep it, and it could give the job some more depth.
Simply reverse the function of Freecure. Instead of I proccing II, have II proc I and turn it into 'High Cure' that does something like heals the same potency as II, or auto Crits, or generates a free Lily or something.

PVE could learn a thing or two from the new pvp abilities. One of those being only have one cure button.

Merge Esuna and Cure 1 into one button, give WHM Afflatus Purgation and Seraph Strike in PVE and Aero 3 back. And one hard-cast dot, or a nuke with an interesting effect. BANG. WHM now feels like a neat middle ground between SB and HW WHM.
