No! Don't touch my tail! :<
I like armors that has with capes but looks kinda dumb its like glued to your feet when you run lol
Absolutely against removing tails.
They already chop our ears off with hats that have no business doing so, I don't want to lose one of the last racial features I have left.
I'd rather they modify the capes in some way to accommodate tailed races properly, instead.
Don't touch the tails.
Give us split capes instead (like 130 tomes set), capes fall awkward anyway.
I like the tail on tail thing the 590 tomes maiming set and so others have.
After seeing what they did to ears and hair for Hrothgar...I'm gonna have to say no. Keep the tails. Please.
I personally like when they hide the tail where it makes sense (like in the rabbit and chicken costume) and on the moonward set like you said, it would make sense that the cape would be covering the tail. Making it show is more unrealistic, and just uneccessary clipping. But I only like it on sets with long capes and full body costumes.
But it doesn't cover the tail. It's just gone and that shows.
With what they did to Hroth, no. The developers must not to remove racial features. Let things clip.
I remember back in 2.x and armour would have modification for cats. sometimes it was as simple as cutting a window in it, other times they even added to the armour (like that caster gear with the tail sock!). I would be really happy if they added in a little window for the tails. some gear looks especially silly: capes being high on the list: i have to avoid any gear with a cape because it just looks silly. I'd defo welcome a /hidetail option for certain glams if SE aren't going to modify the gear to allow for the tails. Also, I find it strange that some of the novelty gear auto hides the tail (like the gold saucer piggy suit) but others don't (like the frog suit), even though they were released later. I would've thought it a no brainer to hide the tail on stuff like that.
There is a few sets out there that actually put things on the tail. A couple from Endwalker that come to mind is the DRK AF gear you get at lv 89 and the Fending astrology tome set. There was also the DRG AF set at the launch of HW that I think actually just replaced the tail with the one that was part of the armor design. And that infamous caster set from ARR that made the tail stick up.
I too feel like some costumes should hide the tail such as the mascot suits for chocobo, piggy, etc. In the case of the bunny suits I feel like the suit's tail should be gone so it doesnt look like puffball clipped into the base of the tail.
Yes I remember. The current tome gear does in most cases (the tank one does on my hrothgar, but the striking one kinda kinda clips through my tail instead of sitting above it (unless they fixed that recently). I defo like seeing this kind of attention to detail. with 3 races with tails, I feel it's really quite important. When you see gear that has like a sachel on a belt or something and my tail clips RIGHT THROUGH IT, it just looks really stupid and becomes another item i don't wear at all (the black vest from firmament with the belts being one of the worst offenders)
I want more sets like the radiant sets: designed with tailed races in mind, you know like how we used to have items for miqote ears in arr and hw
my poor horns clip through everything already ;n;
I‘d love to get a toggle for it. While we‘re at it please make one for leg armor too.
The option seems to exist, since certain gear parts get autoremoved. (Quaintrelle's Ruffled Skirt is a prime example) Let us decide if we are ok with the clipping or not, please.
Or they could add a second position for the tail, where it points more straight down so that it stays under the cape without clipping. .. but that probably takes too much resources for a small indie company to afford doing ^^
I think they should add a tail toggle in the style of Visors to coats and chestpieces with capes.
Because it looks so low quality when the tail just clips through stuff.
If you look at it from any angle except the back on the moonward gear it's very obvious it's just missing. IMO the choice made there is terrible. Ideally they model things in a way that accommodate tails, but failing that I'd prefer clipping over character customization being removed.
There are a few exceptions like the "mascot" armors that make total sense to hide them, though.
We should be asking them to do more, not take further shortcuts like they've done with Miqo'te ears and now Hrothgar hairs. The sudden highly irrational fear of clipping SE has is hurting them more than helping them.
Said it before and will say it again.
Would much prefer an option to either hide the cape on armor, or get a variant of the same armor without capes.
FFXIV have managed to avoid the issue with capes for quite some time but quite recently they have decided to double down on them unfortunately. Especially since capes are some of the most overrated cosmetics following wings.
FF14 already has a solution to armor and tails.
If I didn't want to see my tail, I wouldn't be a Miqo'te.
Please do not remove my tail for anything, SE.
The Radiant's armour set that actually gives us armour on our tail has been something I've wanted since they removed it in 1.0.
We need more sets like Radiant's, and less like Moonward. In fact, the Moonward set should be fixed to show us our tails. This happened once with the Alphanaud set and it chopped our tails off. They patched in a fix for it. Why not Moonward?
No Hrothgar tail in one of the pictures in the patch notes
I wouldn't mind an option to hide my tail tbh the main reason i'm using this set as glam on my tank.
Having more options is always a good thing.
I really hate that the upper half of the capes are basically stitched to you back and don't flow. My Cape of HaPpInEsS should be all over the place in the Mhachi raids. This ain't an issue in DCUO.
This game doesn’t have a physics engine. I prefer the tail not to clip through. Since they have to set how the cape flows for the armors I think they could put a bit of work to customize the tail animations for tailed races so the tail dangles underneath cape, but doesn’t clip through it as bad as it does now.
If it's on the new alliance raid armor picture, his tail is there, I think it's a min size one.
On WoW when they updated the older races models, they made the capes animation fixed with the tails, with them staying below the cape while dictating the flow movement to avoid clipping. Dunno if something similar is possible on FFXIV, but it would help a lot with the issue.
If I cared about the tail clipping, I wouldn't play a tailed race at all. Leave my tail alone.
If there's enough demand for it, then sure, add a toggle to hide tails and let people play a Manx cat. I'd never use it, but I wouldn't object to it. But leave my tail where it is.
Other option is to have a 'wrap' option with the tail, where you sort of curl it around your waist like a belt, would much prefer this over flat out removing them.
goku vibes haha
That's one of the reasons I love the 590 tomes body of maiming so much. Not only does it have a spiffy looking tail protector, its cape outright starts at waist level, so you get a great view of the back, your tail, the dragony tail of the gear swishing along with your own, a swishy cape, and no cape awkwardly sticking to the back.
Tail accessories should be a standard >.<
Honestly, what I hate about capes is they bound to armor so if i dye my armor "red for example" i can't make my cape white or blue or green or purple and it annoys the hell out of me (not just capes though many others)
now i feel like any and all tails just get some accessory like glamor from maybe leg armor to get ribbions or something thats all i got 2 say about capes/tails
ya u know why i call bs on "limiations" when it comes to consoles?
a majority of pc players play on meha to decent graphic and hardware ... very few pc players play on the most up 2 date hardware not even counting software and all that plus windows screws up drivers and pcs at times lol not even counting they can directly update and fix things with console much easier than doing so with pc consinder all the different hardware drivers and cards out there...
Also *cough* many ps2 games handled what they call "limiations" better than they did lol on better systems than ps2
