What could possibly go wrong?
I always kill the king first because he's the biggest one
Assuming there are a few sync players I imagine very little will go wrong lol.
Better than Cape Westwind.
*readies the "kill order" macro and number labels*
Tanks fight over the King while Kupdi Koop and Kupta Kapa tank the healers in the face. :(
2.0 is a pretty big slog for many people with us being in the 6.X era of the game now. People who use it will be forced to realize why their NPC party members are dying.
But hey, that's just assuming that EVERYONE is gonna run the stuff solo, right?
Hopefully, by the time they reach it, some of them will have lost their dislike of MMOs and joined a few warm-body dungeons.
But I guess for some, yes, this is the point they will leave the game.
"I can't hear you! I'm too busy jamming to the Night Before Christmas."

"What do you mean wrong franchise?"
So its to replace the old right of passage the ARR slog and especially post 2.0 MSQ (pre reduction road to Ishgard) used to be?
The thing that bothers me is we are already seeing some people saying to run things with trusts before you waste the time of real players with your less than perfect play. Yes with trusts you can learn mechanics but you will not learn how to play with actual players. That I believe will cause a new set of problems.
It's a double edged sword.
I'm glad people nowadays can play the trial version and drop the game at anytime without losing anything but their time, unlike when I started as I got trapped at Sastasha and needed to decide if I'm willing throw my money down the drain and quit or just roll with it.
Ok, and? It's usually the louder, smaller, percentage that's seen. Usually most people ignore the louder ones. Also like you said 'some people are saying it'. Not everyone, or not a huge amount of the playerbase
Also what about people who want to play DPS first? They're gonna suffer the most with their queue times and the trusts will let them get in sooner. When I leveled up an alt character for that 15 days of gametime, I played archer. Took me about 47 minutes to get in to the level 15 dungeon. There's also days I want to play reaper/red mage, and the queue time can really make me uninterested in playing some days when I don't feel like healing/tanking.
THAT kind of slog is what is gonna hurt new people the most.
I'm not sure you were paying attention. The eventual goal is that the first time you are forced to group with other players will be ... never. The situation you're describing is temporary. Basically, the community is now sowing what it reaped. Players complained and complained about being forced to do content with players who are just playing a game for recreational purposes as opposed to playing it as if they were training for the latest and greatest entry to the Summer 2024 Olympic Games. Now they're getting their wish. Those of us who don't want to cope with big pulls will now have the option of sticking with the NPCs and leaving the elitists to their game. I can already see how this will ultimately play out. Once the work for this is complete, players will be whining about how the game seems dead, queues for grouped content take forever, and the only remaining option is to participate in scheduled statics. All because players refuse to believe that this forum in any way represents the gaming population as a whole. Ironically, the OP's complaint is the very reason that SE decided to go this direction.
