World transfers?

how do i get one? i want to be with a friend on aegis

Can't onto closed servers and that isn't Ragnarok atm if I recall. They stated at/after 2.0 launch they'll have free server transfers.

well i was able to create a character there, so id assume theres room, but id rather not start over

World transfers are done until 2.0.

First of all, I again extend my apologies to all players who encountered issues during the World Merge that took place at the end of March.

Now then, I’d like to share some good news!

In response to popular demand, we decided to give the opportunity to (EU) Welcome Back Campaign participants to move to Ragnarok. In the interests of fairness, we chose to expand this option to all (EU) players willing to move to Ragnarok.

For this and other account-related issues, we aren't able to discuss them on the forum, so we would like for those affected to contact our GM support staff in-game by May 31st. We‘re aiming at transferring all applicants to Ragnarok during the next patch maintenance (tba). Please note that this exceptional measure applies for the World Ragnarok and European players only. As mentioned in the past we want to improve the playing experience for European players, who form a small minority scattered across the Worlds, and make it easier for them to get together and form parties.

Thank you for your patience and your understanding.

I think the playerbase (especially us Ragnarokians) would appreciate this if it was an annoucement and not hidden away in a forum.

How is Ragnarok in terms of EU players? (that speak english)

Doesn't seem to be many on Balmung and I may consider transfering.

I'd say equal amount of each of JP/English/French/German, possibly more french than the other 3.

Just judging on what I've experienced though so can't be exact. There's also Spanish/Italian in there but fewer of those.

Wouldn't worry about language too much, most EU people can speak decent english no matter what their native language is.

Outside of EU primetime it's pretty quiet.

If they're not English themselves the majority of the European base can speak the language anyway!

Ragnarok should have been advertised as a European server, not a French/German server - it's only caused confusion!

I was added to the transfer list very recently, it was a very simple procedure performed in-game. Just contact a GM via the Support Desk in the menu. Not all options have a GM contact tab, so use the top most option on the list and select 'Other' as the reason for contacting them.

Hows the population on Ragnarok? If its fairly decent in EU primetime you may be gaining 2 more immigrants to your server :D

Population is very strong during EU primetime. Late nights and mornings are pritty quiet though.

Looks like you'll be gaining 2 more immigrants, just been put down onto the transfer list, when we arrive I expect a Subligar partay!

I just request a change of server and they told me the usual, we can not guarantee you -.-

this is what I have answered:

If your a hardcore/veteran player, dont come on ragnorak, its really really bad for new content stuff. Mostly noobies doing the old content and new characters learning the game. Also there is a lot of foreign speaking players. Couldnt really find a decent linkshell on this server since i joined, have mostly been doing solo achivments.

Oh Fadi, you and your sales pitch!

Would be nice if they would do this transfer for everyone, and not just EU players.

I'd like to be on a server with all my rl friends, but no.. im stuck on the one I was automatically sent to.

That might coerce me to pay to play!

What about people who were moved to other servers in error who are waiting for a resolution to their issue. Will they be moved back to the servers their original world was merged to at that same time?

They touched on this: They didn't move anyone that didn't want to be moved, as in it was purely human error and/or choice. The only thing they said was to contact the GM with appropriate information (world you chose and you somehow ended up on the wrong world after choosing the one you wanted) and they'll investigate for you and move you (if it was an error on their end.)

The way I understand it, there were no errors on their end. But if you made a mistake during the application period, they will consider moving you back to your default server.

I'm not sure if I misunderstood Bayohne's post somehow, or if the community reps got different information than the GMs. Either way, it appears you can't switch back, even "if you made a mistake with your initial application". Tough luck.

I kinda wish they'd allow some NA to transfer there too. . . (I was born EU so it totally counts... right?)
I'm stuck on Aegis while my husband is on Ragnarok D: /sadness.
I'd start over but I have put a lot of work into my character, it'd suck to reroll and have to start from scratch D:

I'm from England and spend the majorty of my stereotyped lifestyle drinking tea and enjoying meals at 11 o'clock with sticky buns on the side.

I've friends over in Belgium, Austraia, Sweden, Spain, Holland etc
The game doesn't cater to these countries. Instead these fantastic individuals speak English instead meaning the majority of Ragnarok is actually English and online whilst the sun is still above the horizon.
What a novel idea!

And I must say, the accents on these european ladies are divine ~

I'm hoping they allow a transfer or something before 2.0. . . Kinda silly that they started the welcome back campaign but closed half the servers ~_~ lol.

Hell, I'd be happy if they atleast opened up aegis, but I'm totally not against moving either... whatever gets friends together! Though I do wish they'd let NAers go to Raggie too ;~; lol. . . Kinda like a server consolation prize!

I said I would give Ragnarok till 2.0 to see if I can fit in and find a nice home, sadly I still haven't got that feeling yet since leaving Lindblum but theres still a few more months hehe! :3

hmmm. i myself am a bit sceptical, i mean, sure, its annoying that the majority on my server ( Balmung ) is eather Japanese or across the big water, while i am in the netherlands, but on the other hand, i just started to get to know people, and Balmung is the server where i learned this game. I had the same problem when i was playing FFXI back in the day, i started on Bahamut, transfered a couple of times ( mostly cause my wife switched servers ) never could fit back in on another server, and ended up back on baha after a few years, only to find i couldnt fit in there eather anymore.

would be cool to get more things done in my own timezone, thats for certain, but to loose ones friends and comerats, i am feeling being forced to make a fast decision, on something that cant be judge to decide lightly

Probably update maintenance, not necessarily emergency/hotfix maintenance.

A quick question, will being on the Ragnarok server and living in the EU give me a better connection than the other servers? or will it be exactly the same?

Exactly the same ._.

Even the Japanese get the 3 second lag. It's Enix's servers themselves that are the problem, not the distance
