I think Emet-Selch will be involved in Pandemonium. We still don't know why Elidibus, Lahabrea and Emet-Selch were unsundered. Maybe Pandemonium will give that answer.
Supposedly Yoshi-P has said 7.0 will be a battle of values (like previous expansions), so I predict the protagonists will continue to be clad in impenetrable plot armor while we're pitted against sympathetic antagonists who end up losing everything.
i have a few:
-the 12 are real and is connected to dynamis.
-alpha and omega are gonna get a quest linked to the omicrons.
-garlemald restoration will be headed by julius and the commander we saved.
My only prediction I feel to be certain about is that we may meet one or two of the new companions WoL will have for Season 2 during 6.1 to 6.55 so they can set up who will be the Trusts of 7.0. I expect the other characters maybe introduced in 7.0 to have 7.0 be a proper first chapter of Season 2.
I personally don't expect the Scions to rejoin WoL for his/her new save the world adventure until maybe 7.1 and above so they have time in 7.0 to introduce to us the new companions and to give the Scion's time to do their own things while planning their potential new outfits.
On a crazy theory side...
Since we learn Venat's combat style is basically Noctis Job (she even has Noctis strongest LB being Legacy of the Luccii) and she did train Azem a bit, I suspect Azem's crystal may contain some memories about Azem's fighting style. If so then reawakening those memories may allow WoL to unlock the Noctis Job with the Job's mechanics focus on 13 Crystal Arms and Armiger Unleashed. However, this may cause this job to be the first story locked job and of course people will not like this but for major sory reasons, it may have to be since the entire MSQ is the first Job quest itself to obtain the Job Crystal being Azem's Crystal.
The first actual Job quest for this Noctis Job may focus on obtaining Azem's original Sword.
Theories:
- Venat originally came to Elpis to help a friend out with the creation of the first soul crystals, which were derived from the concept crystal that you retrieved for her.
- Lahabrea and his keywards experimented with fusing themselves and their Creation magicks at a time when the Final Days were just about to start. What happens when said Creations get corrupted by the Final Days? What happens when you cross a Dynamis Chicken with the Speaker of the Convocation? I'm curious to find out.
- Azem's departure from the Convocation is tied in to the events of Pandaemonium.
- A new waiter named Slicingway is recruited to work at the Last Dregs when it finally opens. Nobody knows where he came from, and he can't seem to remember who he is, but he most definitely is not a Loporrit.
I wonder if Noah van Gabranth will pull off a Gaius at some point (showing up out of nowhere under a new guise) and become a major character in Garlemalds future, since there is, according to the Logfiles from Bozja, a possibility for him to do so.
Dunno how tin foil hat this is, but I think the Lopporit beast tribe will be in Ultima Thule in the ghost town cafe, as opposed to the where you'd probably think it'd be on the moon or Etheirys somewhere. Its weird cus you'd need to do a dungeon to unlock it, but the Lopporit and Omicron that move into the place after you do the omicron dungeon (Stigmascape I think?) certainly seem to indicate they're going to continue looking into lost civilizations and just generally be doing stuff you will want to get in on. And a lopporit is heading it up, so I'm thinking it will technically be able to be considered the Lopporit beast tribe cus of that.
Also, I think we're going to Corvus/Locus Whatever next, possibly in the patches, since the place got so many name drops I stopped counting. Here's hoping we take G'raha with us as I'd love to meet his tribe with him in tow. Right after I introduce him to the fam in Ishgard. (Fulfilling the Ishgard part of our latest promise better not happen off-screen, I swear...)
I was thinking part of me will have the twins come after we establish our new cast of characters---after a time skip where they are much older.
I think that might be the Omicrons.
My own suspicion for the Loporrit tribe quests is that they might end up in Labyrinthos doing research.
I think Corvos is going to be our Eureka-style zone. Potentially G'raha could be helping his tribe re-establish their guarding of the Allagan ruins there.
Someone in another thread suggested that the Watcher on the moon, being a construct based on an Ancient, is based off of Erichthonios, and the dramatic irony and perfect symbolism of that, of the ultimate Warder keeping an eye on Lahabrea's dangerous to be freed but shouldn't be destroyed creation and the thousands of years of avoiding each other- and therefore we get a line of dialogue with the Watcher after finishing Pandaemonium to confirm this.
Also that the Myths of the Realm raid will set up that the Twelve are similar concepts to the Watcher created by Hydaelyn and her co-conspirators to help out the world immediately after the sundering but then retreat/fade away to let the Sundered stand without them (but their crystals or something similar remain and that's what we interact with to start the raid).
Corvos is Bojza or HoH 2.0.
Azdaja isn't in Meracydia or the New World - they chased after one of the Ascians and accidentally ended up on one of the other Shards. Vrtra and Estinien will try to find Azdaja and fail - and stumble into about problem that sets up a 7.0 conflict, but Azdaja on another Shard is saved for 8.0 or 9.0 adventure.
- The sundering starts to unravel
- probems arise from Zodiarks influence ending
- Estinien and Graha and WOL go on an adventure that leads into 7.0.
- I really want julius to be more important.
The heat death of the universe is a real scientific concept that will play out over billions of years. It is quite outside of our realm to prevent, but also won't be happening any time remotely within the scope of the story.
It only concerns the Ea because they made themselves immortal and they'll be around to see it happen.
I honestly expect this was going to happen since the story basically removed the pillers that kept the whole sundering thing together being Zodiark and Hydaelyn.
Hydaelyn maintained the sundering of the world's stability and Zodiark maintained the unsundered souls in himself. With both gone, the flood gates are broken and what becomes of the Source and shards can only be bad if something does not stabalize things or people will manage some how to make it through the worse of the Source and shards adjusting itself to the changes on the planet.
The Allagans still exist and live on another planet.
Their history is something like we discovered space travel before the calamity and made an Ark rocket to leave the star and find another one with small part of the population before the calamity destroyed their civilization. Then they've been living on an aether rich planet not suffering calamities for thousands of years building their technology and magic waiting for a time to return when Zodiark and Ascians can't stop them from taking their "destiny" which is to conquer the star.
The villain for 7.0 will be apart of the advanced scouting party and this will only be revealed to us at the end. Our ability to stop this villain will also send the message back to the Allagans that the WOL is ready to defend the star and this will mobilize their armies--in other words use our defend the weak morality to be the cause of up coming galactic war.
In 8.0 Zenos is rescued by them and treated like a long lost citizen because of his power and resonant. Furthermore he will fit in with the Allagans and get a new perspective on life. Zenos will lead the vanguard invasion force and will instead deny us any fight with him because he now has grander ideas of domination.
9.0 will visit another shard to stop the Allagan invasion there, as it becomes apparent they have the means to travel to shards easily. What would be interesting if the villain was a shard of Azem who has become disillusioned adventuring and wants more instead.
10.0 will have us go to the Allagan planet which has become a city planet like Coruscant from Star Wars. We'll win over their civilization and reveal the true evil that has been puppeting those events from the shadows, setting things into motion because they knew Hydaelyn and Zodiark were destined to fall. This evil will be the thing Azem was trying to solve during the original Final Days.
11.0 will be the thirteen to face down this evil that has been hiding their this whole time and also save the remaining souls. The WOL will save existence but be cast into a time vortex and spit out into an unknown future.
12.0 will retrofit of the entire game, changing the world into present and past tense. Maybe something like world of ruin (previous expansion would be the world of balance). And they start a new adventure for the WOL heading to stop an unknown threat.
You said crazy right?
-The Lahabrea in the pandemonium storyline is not our Lahabrea; we are responsible for the creation of our Lahabrea and he knows it.. It was always personal against us. (Our Lahabrea being Ericthonios).
-The “war of ideals” will play out in Corvos/the new world. Essentially finding a new homeland for the Garleans who “are now good”, but the current people can’t forgive/forget. A lot of “sins of the father affecting their kids” stuff.
-One if the remaining ascians is, in fact, benevolent. And will work to gain our trust and become an ally.
-The remaining dragon is a major antagonist. Essentially Vrtra, but rules with an iron fist. Or he too has become nihilistic and wants everything to end. Liberating his people/stopping him will come at a cost…will it damage our relations with the other dragons?
-Zenos returns…and finds new meaning in life as an understudy of Hildebrand…is renamed “Jeff”.
I'd bet money on this.
I'd bet (a small amount of) money on this.
"Ned", or no deal. (And now I'm picturing Zenos Manderville posing. Good Lord. XD)
"with new parts for all to play", "I hope we meet again in a joyous reunion", etc. I think this is a solid idea. I dunno HOW, unless they're gonna be kids. I can't see us timeskipping 15-20 years. Although, nothing says they have to reincarnate on the Source, I suppose. Could reincarnate on a shard and be older due to time shenanigans, like between the Source and the First.
I dunno if the life cycle of the ancients would matter. They'd just end up kids to current races, but with very dense souls. They still wouldn't have ancient biology. Though I do wonder if having unsundered souls would effect things like their lifespan, or just their available mana pool? Hades on track to be a boy wonder of a black mage, regardless.
I have my heart set on him trying to become the true Jeffrey of Light. Of course only possible by overcoming the Jeffrey of Darkness…only to realize the magic was in him all along. If he only believed in himself.
Also his attempts at doing the manderville pose are incredibly stiff and awkward. The entire arc revolves around his confidence building. Also being served a meal by momma manderville who treats him like the 5 year old he is.
Jeff: whines about meaningless life blah blah
Mom: “That’s nice dear, now take your boots off my table and finish your greens or I will end you”
Jeff: complies, immediately.
I'm not so convinced. I like the alternate idea of him reincarnating into the researcher who found the crystal.
And can I take this moment to go on a side rant about calling him "Eric"? I know a lot of people are using it but it feels like a Hildibrand-style misnaming to me while "Erich" seems a more natural short form by syllable.
The shard time shenanigans would be a clever way of getting them back into the story if it's possible, but if we ever did get a time skip I'd expect something more like five years – and if we got that, I would love to see cute kiddie Hyth and Hades somewhere. They don't even need any sort of feature, just spot them in an establishing shot or something.
I call him Eric b/c I can't remember/spell the second half of his name. lol If there's an h after the c, I'm fine with Erich, too. Though it looks german, then.
I can't help but wonder if maybe Emet-Selch was somehow using his creation magicks to alter his descendants to be closer to the unsundered Ancients, given that all of them were noted to be of exceptional stature and strength.
I just really, really want to know what the deal with Zenos was.
Lol the Eric talk reminds me of my static back in Heavensward elongating Thordan's name to ThorDaniel during Thordan Extreme.
Hmm, crazy theories hmm...
The dev team writers are going to use the Sundered Ascians still left on the table, perhaps with some of the souls freed via Zodiark to have us fight an Ascian Possessed Dragon. So like, Azdaja but amped up by having conscious Ascians fused into her? Maybe this will give us a Negative version of Estinien, an antagonist with a similar power draw? And it'll kill Tiamat, maybe.
We'll get Gaia to come to the Source to come be a mainline protagonist, maybe also Ryne after Y'shtola finds out how to go get to riding Runar.
We're never going to Corvos, because Labyrinthos is said to be modelled off of it. But be prepared to hear about Corvos at least 52 more times.
Plot twist, after mentioning how beautiful and idyllic it is the 53rd time, we say F it and just actually go there for a well deserved holiday/"Beach Episode" only to find it a smoldering ruin, courtesy of an Ascian-possessed dragon.
Urianger complains that this was not what was promised in the brochure.
I like how they have already begun to plan Derplander's next job for 7.0.
7.0 should be the double DPS new job expansion if it follows the expansion new job release pattern so we should expect two new DPS jobs.
A part of me still hope to see a Noctis/Yozora Job since we just had a sample of it from the Venat story instance boss fight. They even have the crystal weapons Armiger summon animation set up despite still being a lower amount of weapon for Venat's weapon of choice. Not to mention the LB3 animation can be considered done due to how Venat uses Legacy of the Lucii for her LB.
The only thing left for SE development team if they ever consider a Noctis/Yozora job is to consider the normal skill attacks and their animation.
Well the jobs chosen is normally based on the expansion theme.
My best guess is that if it is Bard then it may related to the theme being about stories and adventure.
However, Bard is certainly going to be a difficult job to figure out how to make it match a theme of a Expansion in a bigger picture way.
My personal opinion is that they may make the Derplander theme Job in 7.0 maybe one of the new Jobs for 7.0 since they may design one of the two new jobs to fit the theme of the expansion better.
Maybe it's just me but what could work really well with that idea...job quests but we're the one training others, that would be really cool.
Tying in to that, I want our WoL to really take the lead in future storylines, so on conversation with whoever we team with (whether it be the Scions or new chars) we're the ones saying "I'll go take care of x, you guys stay here and investigate y" kinda thing.
But on the other hand, that meant Hydaelyn was able to reach and manipulate all lifestreams from her position. Which means there is a place where all lifestreams are near to each other, if not actually connecting. Hydaelyn was the moderator that kept them stably separate, but the position is vacant now. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the separation between the Shards' lifestreams starts to break down with her gone and the streams of souls/aether just start flowing where they want.
Could possibly even result in a gradual merging of like soul shards, something they seem able to do if G'raha's easy blend with his own soul is any indication. And I am talking a very gradual merge, over many lifetimes, and well outside of the scope of our story beyond a random academic NPC maybe positing it'll happen. Cus two shards of the same soul would have to be near each other, in the same lifestream, at the same time; and the odds of that occurring are low, and get lower the more often it occurs.
There is a dimensional barrier separating the Source and shards, presumably created by Hydaelyn during the Sundering. If killing Zodiark dissolved his barrier around the star, it's possible killing Hydaelyn also dissolved the barrier between worlds. If that was the case, I'd guess the most pressing issue would be the Thirteenth and the Voidsent.
Very true. They'd have a vastly greater supply of lifestream aether to nom on and they'd do it. Of course, it also might make it easier to travel there (and any other shards) and infuse the planet with some umbral light from elsewhere to fix it, if all the lifestreams are able to connect freely now. Heck, that might be how Y'shtola manages travel now.
On the "noctis job" thing: Venat just seemed like she was job changing in combat, to me. And if they let us do that, it'll be only in very specific settings. Otherwise, I'd think that's gonna be a power that stays with the ancients.
Wouldn't be opposed to a job that involves teleporting after my weapon, though. That was fun.
That is a very good point, actually. Although the Void already has diminished barriers, hence the fact that it's possible for minor Voidsent to pass between the worlds in some cases, if the barriers were of her creation, and they were to fray, it could mean even more powerful Voidsent could readily pass between the worlds as opposed to requiring a voidgate, amongst other things. They did seed a storyline for its potential rehabilitation into the final quest for the role quests for SHB, so a future visit there is likely. There would be the small matter of the RPR avatar but I am sure that can be dealt with rather easily...
