Space Exploration [ENDWALKER MSQ SPOILERS]

[Spoilers Ahead]

Now that Endwalker is over and I love the slightly sci-fi edge to the story. Do you think we'll be able to visit other worlds now that we have the Ragnarok?

Personally Final Fantasy has not really done anything with space since Final Fantasy VIII and I always loved that section of the game as well (Can we please have an FFVIII and FFIX remake Square, it BADLY needs one to flesh out the story, FFVII has been done to death).

With "other worlds" being mentioned, it would be great to take a break from the High Fantasy of Ezorea to explore other worlds, perhaps even start a colony, just incase another world destroying calamity comes along... again.

I'm a little surprised our FC houses aren't making autopiloted spaceships to send out to gather fancy things.

N-Not that I'm not thinking about having the air, sea, and heavens covered for these sort of things... no. Not... me...

Or having FC houses that ARE spaceships, being able to have the Ragnarok as your FC home would be a great addition. They've opened all this up with the "edge of the universe".

I always believed that all the FF worlds take place in the same universe, a lot of the worlds metetion described sounded like the worlds from other FF games. The one that destroyed themselves through technological innovation could have easily been a future version of FFVII or FFVIII because both were technologically advanced. FFIX also had Terra which was a dying world too.

Still think 7.0 will be all about space traveling. Something like Star Trek or Star Wars. Saving other planets from evil and destruction.

The unfortunate grim implications of the story is that most of the other planets (within however far Meteion actually traveled) are super dead
But it'd be neat to have something where we go out there. See some worlds starting to be born anew, in the aftermath
Also space is cool and I love sci Fi fantasy mixes lol

You want to be careful with going too far away from the setting of the world you started in.

Take WoW's story for example.

Their story has taken them to a place that has more or less diminished the conflicts and stories of Azeroth because now you're off fighting celestial cosmic beings that control the realms of death for every living being in the universe.

Didn't we basically do the same in Endwalker? But at least SE knew when and how to finish the story.

The rest of space is dead lol what is there to explore

I for once really want to return being an run of the mill adventurer, without all of the titles attached. We saved the whole planet and arguably the whole universe, we did enough, more then enough. I want to go back to the time of exploring, where dungeons felt like dungeons and not like corridors, where doing battle leves was a nice change of pace, where fates were not things to just blindly grind, a time where a Chimera was an actual threat.

I dont mean doing fetch quests over and over again, but quest like : The Greatest story never told (That is an amazing quest, took me 5 days to finish and was fun as hell)

I overall tire of this world savior trope.

There's already too much between the Source and the other remaining reflections that we really won't need to venture far with the spaceship.

Also, we exhausted the "fuel" didn't we? I mean they could write a new source appearing somewhere, but that is kinda cheap.

I could see it maybe being used more to reach and traverse to the other shards with what fuel is left or by finding alternatives, rather than the rest of space itself. This especially could work if we take a stargate-ish approach with the thinking of the Ragnarok being in 2 places at once at the moment.

The Omega raids make reference to V and VI but not as in-universe entries. More like worlds in other multiverses.

Considering it took a bunch of beast tribes summoning their primals and, what, the bulk of the Mother Crystal that Hydaelyn created over a span of thousands of years, which afterwards Zenos ate the remainder of to fly to us... yeah, I don't think we'll be going anywhere anytime soon. Other lands on the Source and the various shards should provide more than enough material for further adventures anyway, as you and others have said.

They were pretty explicit there's nothing out there.

This. It's not like they built a spaceship that can work for adventures, they built a "last resort, use all we have to just go out once and return"(or in the original case never return) one.

Obviously we need a "new" feature named Space Island Expeditions. Nothing could ever go wrong with an idea this amazing. Going off and exploring uncharted space islands and filling up bars and killing mobs and rares and...and...oh god.

Presumably it wouldn't need as much fuel if it didn't go as far, or alternatively, didn't get there as fast.

Not that I'm in any particular rush to use it. I want to see Meracydia and those surprising societies on the shards that Emet spoke about before galivanting around the galaxy.

I'm not opposed to eventually exploring other worlds, but for the next expansion I would prefer to forget these cosmic shenagains and go explore other continents like the New World or Meracydia.

Maybe in the distant future but right now, unlikely. We'll be doing a few things then heading over to Meracydia most likely. There's a few other places too including New World (*Not Amazon) which is also massive in size. Then there could be places inside the world and other places in Norvandt that we don't know about.

I think the easiest route would be to stay on the planet we're on and reuse existing assets wherever possible instead of creating entirely new worlds. Yoshi P mentioned that they have opened up the possibility but I'll remain reserved and assume Square Enix as a company would rather not increase the budget too much while they extend themselves into a new replacement MMO (eventually). I think the space ship that exists is going to be kept as-is and won't be used for space exploration. :X
